RUSH: Here’s John in Charlotte, North Carolina. I’m glad you called, sir. How you doing?

CALLER: Real good, Rush. Thank you very much for taking my call.

RUSH: Yes, sir.

CALLER: I am very honored to speak with you. The reason for my call was to congratulate you on the insightful and thoughtful dialogue that you presented last week on two issues. The predominant one was: Why vote Republican? I feel that sincerely, along with the discussion with Pence, was the reason that the Republicans finally got off their butts in the House of Representatives to get something going.

RUSH: No kidding? That’s awfully nice. You think that my asking…? It was after the budget deal debacle and I said, “If this is what voting Republican gets, why do we need to ever vote Republican?” Because the Democrats won most of that budget deal. You think raising that point might have influenced the vote on the Obamacare repeal and replace?

CALLER: Without question.

RUSH: All right.

CALLER: I think that showed and brought to light the weakness of the Republican Party in that… I’m not sure who was singing that passage. You know, there was a good-bye thing. The Democrats thought that, you know, the Republicans were gonna be voted out because they pushed that through.

RUSH: You know, you may have a point. It’s not for me to say, but I very much thank you for making the point. I appreciate it.

Be right back with more.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I was not. I was not being unappreciative of what the caller just said. I just said, “That’s not for me to say.” I appreciated him saying it. I’m not gonna sit here and say that. At least not much.
