RUSH: Let me run some numbers by you. You know, people need to remember the NRA’s a civil rights organization, a lobbying group. A civil rights organization trying to protect our civil rights to protect and defend ourselves, which is enshrined in the Constitution. They’re defending the Second Amendment. That’s what the NRA is. They’re not agents of murder. The NRA is not agents of death. They do not advocate either. They don’t even get close to it.

But let’s look at the amount of money donated. The NRA donates three and a half million dollars to over 400 candidates every year. Well, not every year, since 1998, three and a half million dollars to over 400 candidates. But guess what? Planned Parenthood gave candidates over $38 million just last year alone! That’s more than 10 times as much as the NRA donates in just one year. And where does the Planned Parenthood gang, where do they get that money?

Some of it comes from taxpayers, for crying out loud! There is federal funding that goes to Planned Parenthood, or has been. Not to mention everybody in Hollywood’s required to donate to them. Not to mention every other leftist group is required to prop up Planned Parenthood. Thirty-eight million to candidates alone last year.

The NRA, three and a half million dollars to 400 candidates since 1998. I mean, it isn’t even close. And Planned Parenthood does advocate for what they do. And they do have centers where they attempt to persuade women to come in and let Planned Parenthood do what they do in there. Here goes Mrs. Clinton and Chuck You Schumer and the rest of the Drive-By Media and the Democrat Party weighing in, going nuts on the NRA.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

This is Galion, Ohio. And Drew, you’re next, sir. Great to have you. Glad you called.

CALLER: Very, very big honor.

RUSH: I appreciate it.

CALLER: My point to this whole thing is we know exactly how to never have another mass shooting again. And it has nothing to do with gun control. And I think the Democrats would love the idea. Let’s go against the amendment that says we have the right to assemble, just like a law, no more than 49 people around one area.

RUSH: No more than 49 people around in one area.

CALLER: Yeah. There’s no more mass shootings. You can’t tell when a guy is gonna go crazy and shoot people up, but you can see when there’s 49 people in one area.

RUSH: Well, no, how did you arrive at the number 49?

CALLER: That’s the biggest mass shooting we’ve had in America. We’d never surpass it.

RUSH: Don’t misunderstand here, but you think as long as we’re gonna have mass shootings that no gun law can prevent from happening, that if we lose 49 here or there, that’s better than losing 55?

CALLER: It’s just the whole fact that it’s ludicrous to think that any gun law — it’s all about the Constitution. They want to change the Constitution.

RUSH: Well, wait here. Hang on just a second now, Drew. I have an op-ed piece in the New York Times here from Bret Stephens, a conservative who went over there from the Wall Street Journal, “Repeal the Second Amendment.” He says the only way, if we’re really serious, all these people saying what they’re saying, that we need new gun laws to stop this and stop that, the only really way we can do it is to ban the Second Amendment, repeal it. Let me ask you this. If we repealed the Second Amendment, could this guy have still done what he did?

CALLER: Absolutely.

RUSH: Yeah, I think so too.

CALLER: Absolutely. And do it at least for me. I mean, get rid of the right to assembly. It would stop me having to go to football games, family reunions. It’d be awesome.

RUSH: It would stop riots, the left rioting.

CALLER: Exactly.

RUSH: Protests on college campus. Just get rid of the freedom — as long as we’re talking about ending the Constitution or eliminating constitutional rights, let’s do the one that makes the most sense and we could do, ban public assemblies of no more than —

CALLER: Exactly. That makes the most sense.

RUSH: You know what? That would mean you couldn’t even have a football game, because a football team is 53 players. Two football teams, 106, and then you add the coaching staff. Baseball, same thing. Soccer. Oh. Soccer. Fini. Yeah. Okay. Put that in your hat and smoke it out there, folks. Thank you, Drew.
