Guide Host Ken Matthews said he forced himself to stop cheering for the Russian president, though he clearly performed better than blundering Biden in Geneva.

Guide Host Ken Matthews is a respected radio pro, not a bumper sticker writer, but he said he is tempted to start cranking them out with the slogan "Rootin' For Putin!" after he saw how the Russian president clearly bested bumbling Biden in Geneva on Wednesday.

Ken said he forced himself after a few seconds to stop loudly cheering for Putin, even though it was obviously no contest.

Even if he were to put the American president's signature blunders aside, Ken was "amazed" by "how good Putin was" at every turn as the world watched.

"Wow, this guy is a surgeon with words!" he exclaimed. "It's amazing. He's better than Obama!"

Biden gave rambling, non-answers to questions that demanded forcefulness.

When Ken said "real journalist" Peter Doocy of Fox News asked Biden if he would think about calling his "old friend" Chinese President Xi Jinping to see if he would reveal the real story about the origins of the Wuhan Virus, Biden, seemingly cranky at the insinuation, said, "Certain things don't have to be explained to the world, you can just see the results... It's not about trust." Then, repetitively exclaiming he looks at results, Biden made a beyond lackluster comparison to the outdated saying "the proof of the pudding is in the eating."

Unfortunately, his most insightful comment of the day was when he noted that odd choice of words was a very old reference.

In contrast, Ken noted that Putin was continually diplomatic and a flawless communicator, even under pressure, like when he directly answered with details a journalist's two-pronged question to evaluate the overall tone of the meetings and what the pair had negotiated regarding cybersecurity. "They had to go to Putin because they couldn't get much information out of Biden," Ken said in exasperation.

Interestingly, unlike the U.S. Drive-Bys covering the event, who more than once caused Biden to publicly explode, Putin graciously said there was "no hostility" in the leaders' meeting and it was "fundamental and constructive."

What's also finally coming to the forefront, as Biden trips at every turn, is just how constructive President Trump's counterpart summit with the well-matched Putin was - and how super Trump's strength was. Unlike powder puff Biden, Ken remembered with admiration that "these guys were like two caged alpha animals."

Trump weighed in to the world audience during an interview about yesterday's disappointing showing by the man who received the most U.S. presidential votes in history. "It was another day," Trump said. "It was a good day for Russia. I don't know what we got out of it!"

What some of the few (just six) reporters allowed to ask questions of Biden got out of it were well-deserved apologies later - as Biden wasted more precious time rather than delivering MIA urgent answers. Ken noted that Biden said he was sorry to CNN's Kaitlan Collins after an embarrassing dust-up when he attacked her credibility for legitimately shouting to him about Putin, "Why are you so confident he'll change his behavior, Mr. President?"

Tellingly, though, Biden's outburst included one of the most spot-on answers of the day that Ken noted to be an unfortunate thread throughout to describe Biden's continually weak showings: "When did I say I was confident?!"

KEN: Yesterday -- oh, I was so stoked to see this -- Abbott, the governor, launched a border wall project. Remember last week he said I'm just gonna build my own wall 'cause no one else knows how to do it so -- they're not gonna do it. No Democrat's gonna do it. This is a game. So he got a quarter billion-dollar down payment and then yesterday he held a press conference and said this.

ABBOTT: We know that temporary barriers and fences won't be enough to slow the flow of the record amount of illegal immigration that's taken place. hat's why today we are announcing that Texas will build a border wall in our state to help secure our border.

KEN: Yes! That's why I have a Texas T-shirt, everybody, and I've never even been there but I bought the T-shirt 'cause one of these days I'm gonna get out to that free state. I've been to the free state of Florida. I've been in a handful of free states in the twenty-first century but not to Texas yet. But I do have the T-shirt. I'm proud to wear it. It says "Pray for Texas" on it. That's how you get it done.

And the nice thing about it is more and more governors are standing up and stepping up with their state assemblies to get things done when the federal government won't do it or interferes with what they and their people in that state want to do. Representative Kevin Brady of the House Ways and Means Committee was on Fox yesterday, and he said all the negative factors associated with illegal immigration are up.

BRADY: It is a stunning indictment of President Biden's failure to address or even acknowledge this border crisis. I've been to the border many times. I've never seen anything like it. When you talk to communities, the neighborhoods, the border agents, families, you can see, it is a true crisis. And there's no abating of this right now because the president has basically said, "Look, it's open borders." And what we're seeing, obviously sex trafficking is up, violent crime is up.

KEN: Barkley, star of Inside the NBA, the face of the show for the past 21 years announced on Washington sports radio, The Fan, that he'll be leaving the show.

KEN: Charles Barkley, star of Inside the NBA, the face of the show for the past 21 years announced on Washington sports radio, The Fan, that he'll be leaving the show when he turns 60 -- I believe he's 59 now. So he's leaving the show in a year, called his bosses cowards for bowing down to woke culture. He said (impression) "So terrible, got so out hand. This is terrible. Can't have no fun." Something like that. Said, "I could not imagine having to watch myself. You can't even have fun without these jackasses trying to get you to cancel. And everything else." (impression) "It's terrible. It's terrible."

I'm gonna miss him because he's truthful, and sometimes he says things I agree with and sometimes he doesn't, but what I love, he embraces his free speech. And he has a wicked sense of humor. And he's a great athlete, and he's got common sense.es such a great example of America. And that's what the Democrats are trying to destroy.

I mean, Barkley knows that it's never gonna end as long as people in power in a regime like we have now keep shutting down "certain people," because sooner or later you or I or people that we disagree with will fall into that category of "certain people." Well, you can let him talk but not her, and not him, but that T-shirt's okay to wear, but don't wear that T-shirt on the train. We're already there. It's too late. We've lost free speech. We've said this months ago. We lost it. We started losing so many of our basic rights when the lockdown farce started. And it just continues. And Barkley isn't the only one.

There's a few other changes coming as well, with people of his profile. 'Cause people are tired of the wokeness. They're tired of -- Barkley wants to say a joke or say something funny or speak off the cuff. He's not being vulgar. He's not being threatening. He's not being violent. He's just saying something that maybe somebody has a problem with, but I've never seen so many people that have such a misunderstanding of free speech. Free speech does not guarantee you're not gonna be offended or you're not gonna get angry or you're not gonna break down in tears. That's not what free speech is for. That's why I think Putin had to look at America over the last year and a half and say to the Democrat Party, "Thanks for doing the heavy lifting for us. We look at we were gonna have to roll in here with tanks and team up with China, but you guys are shooting your own feet off."
Let's go back to 2014 when Rush talked about Charles Barkley. Here he is.

RUSH: Chuck Barkley's in trouble. Well, "trouble." Yeah, he said something. He basically insulted the women of San Antonio, called 'em fat. "Charles Barkley went to town like usual when breaking down the overweight (in his opinion) women of San Antonio during 'Inside the NBA' on TNT Tuesday.

So they asked Chuck Barkley's opinion of San Antonio women. "That question just opened the flood gates for jokes that Chuck has used over the years, and he brought them all back up. And now he's facing the music," it says here. "The National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance -" You ever heard of that group? (interruption) You have? Aw, come on, I've got two people claiming they've heard of the group.

"The National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance wants Chuck to apologize for his comments, which included saying there are some 'big'ol women' in San Antonio and that it's a 'gold mine for Weight Watchers,' for whom he is a spokesperson. 'Making slurs about body size is just as offensive as making comments about body color,' spokesperson Peggy Howell told TMZ Sports. 'One would think being a black man, he'd be more sensitive to having his physical body criticized. It's totally out of line. He should absolutely apologize.'"

Totally out of line! Chuck should absolutely apologize. "In addition to the Fat Acceptance group, the President of the Obesity Action Coalition issued a statement about being disappointed with Barkley. 'As a former NBA player and sports entertainment figure, Mr. Barkley should encourage equality and respect among society and not look to shame or segment one population because of their size. Obesity is a serious medical condition and not a joking matter.'"

Well, you know, Chuck's no Mr. Svelte himself, if anybody has noticed. But the headline says "obesity and fat groups," as though there's a difference. I just don't know that Chuck is gonna have to apologize. People like Chuck don't have to apologize. People like Chuck are celebrated when they do stuff like this. Courageous, bold, you tell 'em, Chuck. Oh, he was just making a joke. Come on, folks, everybody knows Chuck, he didn't really mean anything by it. We're back to the old intentions thing.

Here's Barkley on TNT Tuesday night, Inside the NBA. Chuck Barkley and analyst Kenny Smith are talking about the women in San Antonio. I want to tell you again: For Chuck to even be asked the question, one of two things to happen. Either Chuck was running around cracking jokes about the women of San Antonio before the show and somebody said, "You know what, Chuck? We should ask you about that on the air."

Or they decided to do it in a production meeting, 'cause I don't know what fat women has to do with the NBA. So this thing had to be planned. They wanted this to happen, is the point. That's what I mean by having discussed it in a production meeting. It goes by fast. It takes 11 seconds is all it is.

BARKLEY: Big ol' women down there.

HOSTS: (guffawing)

SMITH: Why would you say that?

BARKLEY: That's a gold mine for Weight Watchers, and Victoria's definitely a secret!

HOSTS: (guffawing)

SMITH: Oh, man!

HOSTS: (yukking it up)

BARKLEY: They can't wear no Victoria's Secret down there.
RUSH: Yeah, so it's Chuck doing his stand-up act. "Victoria's a secret down there. They definitely can't wear no Victoria's Secret down there. They're big! They're big! Victoria's definitely a secret." I can't believe anybody's seriously outraged. (Oh, yeah, I can. Yeah, I take it back. People are living out there to be offended.) But nothing's gonna happen to Chuck. Nothing at all, other than Chuck's gonna end up more in demand. Chuck is gonna be thought to be even funnier and clever, and even more shows are gonna want Chuck on to find out what he thinks about whatever.

KEN: You know, it's interesting what Rush said. And he had said this before, how people are conditioned to be offended. You have to be raised to be offended. You have to be conditioned and raised, indoctrinated, propagandized, whatever you want to use.

Lightweight wrote this exclamation pointed line sixteen times in a row: "I need office time every day!"

Even though it was Chicago Mayor Lori Lightweight (proving the validity of Rush's nickname for her even more in this embarrassing instance) who was rudely demanding additional time off when emailing her scheduler, it just might be that poor soul who instead needed it due to the mistreatment, Guide Host Ken Matthews chuckled.

In fact, Ken knew he wouldn't be the only one guffawing as he introduced the laughable topic: "This is just too good to pass up. 'Cause if you don't laugh, your head is gonna explode."

In just another instance of out-of-touch lib politicians wasting precious public service time, tantrum-prone Lightweight let her fingers go wild while tapping, and tapping, and tapping - and then tapping some more - out an email to her scheduler. Word of this leaked out to such a degree, Ken smirked, that Lightweight/city hall Chicago Tribune beat reporter Gregory Pratt filed an FOIA request to see the egregious emails.

In a hold-the-presses moment, shock ensued when it was seen that Lightweight wrote this exclamation pointed line sixteen times in a row: "I need office time every day!" Office time, common in such circles, Ken reminded, is considered "typically a less structured part of the day when the mayor can think, write, or make long-term plans or tell the police officers to stop chasing perps, whatever they do in Chicago."

And that wasn't the only such incredulous maniacally repeated line about the restful state she was requesting (and thereby proving beyond a doubt she was lacking), the entertaining, though ultimately frivolous, investigative reporting showed.

"'Not just once a week or some days. Every day,' exclamation point she wrote 10 times," Ken laughed. "'If this doesn't change immediately, I will just start unilaterally canceling things every day.' She wrote that five times. 'Have I made myself clear,' finally, exclamation point, question mark. Thirteen times. This is like The Shining."

At the recent press conference due to these "revelations" (yes, even more wasted lib government time), Lightweight announced that she had resolved all issues since they occurred five months ago. One big question went unanswered: Did the abused scheduler ever get any deserved downtime?

Ken noted the real headline should have been that Rush got it right yet once again when we heard him essentially saying Lightweight is so confused she doesn't even define herself properly, poo-pooing being classified as an "originalist" because the country had no place for her as a gay, black woman. But Ken noted Rush "brilliant again" as he set her skewed thinking straight by saying:

"Whereas Lori Lightweight doesn't think the Constitution was anything for her, what is she now?" Rush insightfully asked. "The mayor of Chicago. How does it happen? How did a woman who thinks that the Constitution didn't even consider her a person in any way, how did she end up being the mayor of Chicago? And the answer is the very document that she thinks left her out of everything was the document that permitted - maybe the wrong word - that contained within its writings the ability to change it, to amend it, to evolve. And by the consent of the governed, by the consent of the people, she is now considered a full-fledged person because the Constitution was malleable. It was adaptable. I think it is a testament to the brilliance of the Constitution."

Over Lightweight's head? Just Rush ultimately shining the light on why she does the things she does, like her swim in email-infested hot water.

Biden’s gibberish-accented performance so far on the world stage amplifies a portfolio filled with timidity and inconsistences.

As of today's "high stakes summit" - as virtually every media outlet on the planet is calling it - both President Trump and President Biden have met officially as commander-in-chief with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The main difference, though, quipped Guide Host and former Congressman Jason Lewis, kicking off today's Excellence in Broadcasting, is that "Biden doesn't know it."

Much more than just a clever jab, Jason reinforces that Biden's gibberish-accented performance so far on the world stage amplifies a portfolio filled with timidity and inconsistences that are the complete opposite of world-class, beyond-bold leader Trump and that leave our security and future prosperity hanging in the balance.

"Trust Putin?" Jason queried, as though face-to-face with unbalanced Biden. "Do you trust all killers?"

As Fox News reported, a pool reporter noted that Biden nodded when asked if he trusted Putin, although he's adamantly declared he hasn't heretofore, while also labeling him a "killer" and, to boot, "without a soul."

Other "journalists" apparently didn't get this scoop because they were too busy claiming manhandling by Russian security agents, Jason revealed, pondering, "Can you just imagine if this was Jim Acosta?" He noted the press clearly overstepped their bounds, irrationally claiming First Amendment rights.

"First Amendment rights means 'right to know'?" Jason asked. "No! It means right to try to find out."

What doesn't take anywhere near a useless J-school degree, though, is being able to find out that President Biden is beyond-pale by comparison and not even a shadow of dynamic leader Trump.

The press tried to cover up and obscure, Jason said, the real facts about Trump in his own landmark summit with Putin. "Trump was tough on Putin. Trump was tough on Russia, although you wouldn't know it" due to Drive-By Media malignment.

We heard Rush explaining that Trump was actually so confident he could even "goose" the press, leaving them completely clueless about his really wanting Putin out. He told caller Larry, "Trump's driving the press crazy! He's trying to make them believe he and Putin are buddies. But, really, Trump can't believe how stupid they are! He's goosing them, Larry!"

Jason agreed and pointed out that some of Biden's talking points with Putin further pointed up his complete wimpiness in comparison to Trump - or even in comparison to an everyday run-of-the mill grandpa in Suburbia U.S.A. Jason surmised that anyone with an ounce of oomph would have considered China's probable leak of the Wuhan Virus - whether on purpose or inadvertent - an act of war and be doing something about it.

"No one in their right mind would be talking about trade with China," Jason declared. "They would be talking about going after China!"

But President Trump, Jason complimented, of course was doing just that - and so much more, not just on the day of his stellar historic Putin summit, but every day of his never-less-than high-octane presidency.

JASON: One of the things we were gonna do -- had I won the U.S. Senate race, had President Trump had his second term -- is go after civil service reform.

JASON: The swamp has taken sides. One of the things we were gonna do -- had I won the U.S. Senate race, had President Trump had his second term -- is go after civil service reform. You have permanent bureaucracies. Politicians come and go. Schedule C appointees come and go. Political appointments come and go. But the bureaucracy stays there. We better do something about that before we have a one-party rule in this country.

And this one-party rule now is pulling out all the stops for an infrastructure bill, and five Republicans are helping the Democrats get a trillion-dollar infrastructure bill passed when the country's bankrupt with a $30 trillion debt. What on earth are they thinking about? The Democrats are using reconciliation to try to get this passed, but they've got a little problem with the Byrd Rule.

The Senate parliamentarian has already said, "This is for a budget resolution, a one-time deal." She's right. I served on the Budget Committee. We passed three budget resolutions. They were all-encompassing, macro budgets. You can't just blow out spending and call it reconciliation. Here's what Rush had to say about this infrastructure stuff.

RUSH: The Democrats are measuring the drapes in the Oval Office. They're already plotting how they'll spend your money. Politico reports that Democrats are "eyeing aggressive budget and spending plans" if they sweep in November. They plan to deploy every tool at their disposal. The Democrats are sick and tired of strict budget caps, the threat of automatic spending cuts. So if they pull off a trifecta -- winning the White House, the Senate, and the House -- all bets are off.

They'll use "budget reconciliation" to get around the Senate filibuster so they can spend big on "infrastructure," clean energy (the Green New Deal), government-paid child care, and other leftist big-ticket items. Senior Democrats are not hiding it. They plan to disperse trillions of dollars on their budget fantasies. Democrat Congressman John Yarmuth -- who would head the House Budget Committee -- said, "The possibilities are endless!"

So, we'll get endless spending on the Democrat agenda, plus Joe Biden's promise to raise taxes on businesses and get rid of the Trump tax cuts. Add it all up, and here's what we've got: Businesses fleeing the country again. Massive recessions again. Low economic growth again, millions of jobs down the drain again. Prosperity out the window. The American Dream: destroyed. That is what Democrats have to offer, it's what they want to offer. It's what they do best. Do not doubt me, folks.

JASON: Do not doubt El Rushbo. He's right, of course, and this infrastructure bill should be going nowhere. The thought that five Republicans (the usual suspects) are trying to work to get this done is a gift to Biden. But the real danger is that if they get infrastructure out of the way, what the Biden administration really plans to do is to wrap everything else up -- $4 trillion, $5 trillion, $6 trillion -- into a reconciliation bill.

It's gonna be a total abuse of the 1974 budget law that says budget reconciliation passes a budget. It's got to be germane. It's usually used once, not for endless revisions, and that's what the Senate parliamentarian has already said. So naturally what did Ilhan Omar say? "Fire her, and we'll just cram this down the throats of the American people because we want to end up just like Venezuela: Bankrupt."

I don't understand. I really don't understand why these Republicans are trying to help Biden get an infrastructure bill.

RUSH: The free flow of oil at market prices is the number-one factor in a stable economy in this country and most of the Western democracies.

JASON: When it comes to the green energy nonsense, understand this: The Democrats are pushing electric vehicles on America. Now, you can't afford them. If you're wealthy and you're a trust fund brat out in San Francisco, you can afford them, but you can't. Understand this. The Highway Trust Fund -- I was on Transportation and Infrastructure as well -- is broke. They don't have enough user-fee revenue, so they gotta steal from general revenues to do something that should be a user-pays system.

Guess who's getting a free ride on this? Electric vehicles! They pay no gasoline tax, the primary funder. They get a $7,500 subsidy when folks buy them, and that's what they want to expand? They want to...? The reason I bring this up is every time oil prices spike because we're basically banning energy production, they just say, "We'll just drive an electric vehicle!" You'll have no roads then, folks. But here's why oil prices didn't skyrocket as of a couple of years ago when Rush talked about it.

RUSH: The free flow of oil at market prices is the number-one factor in a stable economy in this country and most of the Western democracies. You might not like hearing that, but it is. It's why when Saddam Hussein went into Kuwait, threatened to shut down the oil, take it all over, we didn't waste any time. George H. W. Bush dispatched troops. We could not allow that to happen.

The free flow of oil -- I don't care what the climate change ninnies say. I don't care what the anti-fossil fuel crowd says. The world functions on the free flow of oil at market prices. Any interruption is a potential disaster. Any oversupply depresses prices. It's a delicate balance. There's tons of it. The challenge with the supply of oil is meeting the demand without creating a whole bunch of surplus. It's a logistics problem. It's a pleasant one to have.

So with the United States production rising, the Saudi production, OPEC's production is gonna have to be cut because the world supply is what it is. The world demand is what it is. If the U.S., because of the dominant position we have, sets the price, the Saudis are gonna have to accommodate. So they, they might have been looking forward to cutting back production anyway. If they didn't, prices would collapse because there'd be way more supply than the world needed.

JASON: Imagine for a moment that -- oh, I don't know -- Vladimir Putin had a lab and was fiddling around with, oh, viruses. And at his lab, bats were hanging off the hats of these scientists working, and when they found out that they engineered a super virus and they unleashed it -- or just incompetently it escaped the lab -- they said, "Hey, what, bats? No bats here," and there's a picture that showed up that showed a bat hanging from the hat of a scientist.

Can you imagine what the press would do?

Can you imagine?

They would be clamoring along with, you know, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Ben Sasse, Liz Cheney -- all the war hawks, they would be clamoring -- for a nuclear strike. Well, okay, maybe not a nuclear strike, but some sort of strike against Russia. And yet, with what could be described as an act of war -- China fiddling with this virus, the gain-of-function research (that, yes, however indirectly we funded; thank you, Dr. Fauci) that's not an issue.

It's all Vladimir Putin. It's unbelievable. In fact, it's so over the top that you can't even convince these late-night comedians of reality anymore. Now, thanks to Jon Stewart, some folks are trying. I don't know if you've heard about this, right? Stewart was on Stephen Colbert.

I don't think I've watched that show ever, so I can't tell you what it's like other than Colbert is more a Democrat than he is a comedian, right? But Stewart (you gotta give him credit) is seeing things for what they are. Of course this was a Wuhan virus! Well, you don't have to take it from my mouth. Take it from Jon Stewart on Stephen Colbert.
STEWART: A chance?
COLBERT: Perhaps don't know.
STEWART: "There's a novel respiratory coronavirus overtaking Wuhan, China. What do we do?" "Oh, you know who we could ask? The Wuhan Novel Respiratory Coronavirus Lab."

CROWD: (smattering of nervous laughter)

STEWART: The disease is the same name as the lab!
CROWD: (more laughter)

STEWART: That's just a little too weird, don't you think?

COLBERT: (sputtering) I... I...

STEWART: And then the actual scientists are like, "So wait a minute. You work at the Wuhan Respiratory Coronavirus Lab? How did this happen?" And they're like, "Hmmm. A pangolin kissed a turtle? Hmm?"
CROWD: (loud laughing)

STEWART: And you're like, "No. I..." If --
STEWART: Can I...? Let me see your business card. Show me your business card! Oh. 'I work at the coronavirus lab in Wuhan.'" Oh, 'cause there's a coronavirus loose in Wuhan.
COLBERT: That could very well be, and Anthony Fauci and Francis Collins and NIH have said, like, it should definitely be investigated --

STEWART: Don't stop with the logic and people and things.

CROWD: (laughing)

COLBERT: No --

STEWART: The name of the disease --

CROWD: (laughing)

COLBERT: Wait a second. Wait a second.

STEWART: -- is on the building.

CROWD: (laughing)

STEWART: The only coronavirus we have is in Wuhan --

CROWD: (laughing)

COLBERT: Y-yes.

STEWART: -- where they have a lab called... What's the lab called again, Stephen?

COLBERT: The Wuhan Novel Coronavirus Lab.

STEWART: I believe that's the case.

COLBERT: Uh-huh. And how long have you worked for Senator Ron Johnson?

JASON: Turns out Ron Johnson was right. He's been right all along. And Stephen Colbert just cannot stomach that because his number one job is to get Democrats elected. Comedy comes second, as though he... You know, I don't know that he was ever that funny, but some people say so. But he was always just a hack. He's just an angry, juvenile, screaming-at-the-Trump inauguration hack, and nobody saw this more...

You know, I grew up in the era of real late-night comedians and primarily Johnny Carson. Now, Carson was a liberal. You could tell once in a while, but it was never overt, and you couldn't tell. He would make as many jokes about Jimmy Carter as he would about Reagan.

Same was true of Saturday Night Live in its earlier incarnation. Same was true of Jay Leno. Now they've gone off the deep end, and they're not funny. They're just lecturing, and nobody saw this more clearly than Rush did. In fact, he made a point about the worst of them all, Jimmy Kimmel is just a despicable little brat.

RUSH: Here is David in Dallas, as we stick with the phones. How you doing, David?

CALLER: I'm doing good. Dittos, Rush.

RUSH: Thank you.

CALLER: I'd like to know how is it possible for someone like Jimmy Kimmel, freaking Jimmy Kimmel, go from girls on trampolines to the moral voice on the left.

RUSH: Let me just -- I'm gonna get in deep doo-doo here. You have to understand something about these late-night comedians. They have a staff of writers that may number from 10 to 20. So whatever Kimmel is uttering every night when it comes to jokes, he may not even have written it. I mean, you just don't know. Now, it ends up in his name, but there are -- like this show doesn't have any writers. Never have had. But Johnny Carson had writers. They all do. Letterman had 25 of 'em. They work all day putting together a five- to eight-minute monologue. What you're really asking is, why do people grant him any credibility when he makes massive shifts like this?

CALLER: Exactly. Why is he even considered as an authority? That's beyond my understanding.

RUSH: He's actually not, but the people who agree with what he is saying grant him that status because they want to hear it. And they don't really care who says it. The fact that Kimmel is saying it means they're gonna bond with him and support him. But to people that don't agree with Kimmel, he's not an authority to anybody. He's a hack. Jimmy Kimmel has demonstrated by virtue of his career that when it comes to political thinking, he doesn't really have any original thought.

CALLER: Exactly. Yeah.

RUSH: So his bleating on health care and now Trump, believe me, it has been established that he has a lot of assistance from the staff of Senator Schumer. They send him talking points and other political things to say about Trump and about health care. And he just repeats it.

CALLER: Is it just money? He just wants money?

RUSH: What do you mean, is it just money? He just wants money? No.

CALLER: Does he just want to get paid?

RUSH: Okay. You're asking so many different things here. I'm not criticizing, but you're asking a lot of different questions. You're asking about how could he do this with credibility. You're asking why is he doing it, why did he go from trying to be a comedian telling jokes to trying to be taken seriously as a political commentator. I mean, every one of your questions has a different answer.

CALLER: I guess my real question is, I understood Jimmy Kimmel to be a Republican, a man's man, 15 years ago. How can he go from a man's man --

RUSH: Because The Man Show?

CALLER: Yeah, The Man Show.

RUSH: Because of The Man Show you thought was a Republican?

CALLER: Because of The Man Show.

RUSH: He was on with Adam Carolla, who is a conservative.

CALLER: Right. I had no clue that he was a liberal whatsoever.

RUSH: Well, it happened. And, you know, there's this thing called -- and I'm not being facetious -- there is this very well tested theorem. It's called O'Sullivan's Law. And it is this. Any person or group which is not actively conservative every day will become liberal. Meaning, liberalism is the natural default position for unthinking people, for emotional people it's the default.

Conservatism, on the other hand, I don't want to be misunderstood here, but it's a mental, it's an intellectual pursuit. You may live your life as a conservative, and you may vote as a conservative, but you may not be able to explain why. Liberals don't have to explain why. All they have to do is say they care or notice suffering or discrimination, victims or what have you, and they're automatically feted with great compliments for courage and sensitivity. But nothing they ever propose fixes anything. All they do is further mess things up.

So Kimmel going from The Man Show to where he is now, it could be as seductive as one thing, okay. So his kid ends up with a medical condition, goes to the hospital, discovers some things there ask and decides to come out and tell the story. And the Schumer office heard it and got in touch with him, and now Kimmel can be taken seriously for once instead of just being a jokester. And believe me, actors and comedians crave to be taken seriously.

JASON: And that's why they call it the Limbaugh Institute for Advanced Conservative Studies. I will give you a little additional thought -- and that was in addition to O'Sullivan's Law, that liberal is the default position. It's a little bit like groupthink, conformity. What's so ironic about this is that the arts, the creative class, are supposed to be nonconformists.

They're the biggest conformists under the sun. "Which way is the wind blowing? What does everybody say? That's where I'm going!" Another word for that is cowardice. That's why you don't have very many leaders in the world. But Jefferson himself pinpointed it so many years ago when he said, "The natural inclination of things is for liberty to yield and government to grow." I'm paraphrasing, but that's what T.J. said, and he was right.

Unnecessary lockdowns stole our election rights, crushed our economies, ruined our lives, and abused our children.

It's not the 600,000-plus American lives we've just reached today that have been forever lost to the virus China probably leaked ("purposely or inadvertently") - in what Guide Host (and 2020 Republican Senate candidate in Minnesota) Jason Lewis declared any competent commander-in-chief would see as "an act of war" - that will be indelibly written into the history books. It's the political shenanigans! And the egos and pure power-mad grabs that unnecessarily stole our election rights, crushed our economies, ruined our lives, and abused our children.

"Taking a public health challenge and exploiting it for political expediency," Jason indignantly said, "which culminated, by the way, in revising of state election law by officials who had no business doing that, primarily secretaries of state" is the true permanent travesty of coronavirus lunacy lockdowns.

"They looked the other way, all of the officials looked the other way as ballot harvesting was going on," Jason continued hammering. "And this all came about, by the way, because we just had to do something in the face of lockdowns and coronavirus to allow people to vote without actually proving who they were and getting to the polls like normal Americans would. Used to be had to jump through a hoop or two to vote because it wasn't only a right. It was also seen as a privilege. Now it's like, you know, have ballot, will travel."

Such limitations to our voting rights were "illegal," Jason, the former Minnesota congressman, said he still can't believe he has to continually shout out. And especially crazy since the frauds were put into action in regions like his filled with "patriots and 83 percent voter turnout" - results that materialized without any help from the election deceptions that spread across lib states much faster than the politically hyped virus.

Multiple chapters in our future accurate history books - the way Rush admirably corrected such errors about our country's founding in his landmark Rush Revere award-winning, best-selling children's series - will need to be devoted to the shills who devastated our economies and, in the process, ruined lives all "for your own good" by locking you down and away from your own former prosperity.

Rush knew this well even at the beginning of the laughable lockdowns. He lamented and warned about it.

"It can't go on," Rush dramatically said. "This forced shutdown, the forced ruination of the United States economy, must end. And I can't tell you, I am longing for that day. I've tried during the course of every day's busy broadcast, I have tried to convey my concern and fear for you, for all of us, for everybody."

As one of countless examples, Jason spread the sad news from Andy Puzder, former CEO of CKA Restaurants (like Hardee's and Carl's Jr.), who wrote that from March 1 through August 31st, nearly 100,000 businesses listed on Yelp had closed permanently due to the lockdowns. That's 500 a day. Our country, Jason reinforced, has been "devastated with a lockdown that was there for political expediency by the power-hungry left and their allies in the media and in Big Tech."

And, by the way, Big Tech, Jason says can't be left out (but probably will be like so much of the as-of-yet unwritten history of this outrage): Who do you think benefitted beyond big time from our locked doors, as deliveries from Amazon piled up on our porches? Or due to our formerly productive fingers having nothing to do but order endless inane streaming programming to binge on?

Why, as usual, will we most likely be left binging on bad facts, Jason pondered, rather than the all-too-true recognition that our precious freedom was locked away from us as we were fraudulently locked away from each other?

Guide Host Jason Lewis isn't reveling in the second coming of Jimmy Carter in the form of Joe Biden, he's revolted by it - and wondering why more terror hasn't yet stemmed from recognition. "Here we go again!" Jason exclaimed as he began to compile the many ways life marked with chaos under Biden mirrors the "one-termer" Carter. "The more things change, the more they stay the same."

Biden's one clear talent, according to Jason, kind of like peanut farmer Carter's trademark phony smile: "Put a happy face on a country clearly falling apart." He predicted that, among the uncanny parallels to the Carter misadministration might be Biden, like Carter, "putting on a cardigan sweater and telling everyone to dim their thermostat 'cause the era of cheap energy is over."

Biden killing pipelines and other lame tactics ensure that outcome. Oil, anyone? Foreign dependence on energy? They are headline toppers today just like when Jimmy made headlines. Many other crises are brewing (crime skyrocketing; parts of Georgia and Oregon threatening secession), Jason warned, whether Biden's fawning press ignores it or not, for example, "inflation roaring back." Affecting every one of us, "inflation is out of control" - and he said potentially the "sleeper issue out there today that could be the downfall, I think will be the downfall of the Biden administration as well as Democrats in Washington if the Republicans play it right."

We can ponder that as we sit at home and experience more rolling blackouts than ever (a throwback to Carter's caused shortages and sufferings). Jason, the former congressman, noted that he in Minnesota has personally been more in the dark than ever due to lights out, which really amounts to just more attempts at government controlling our lives.

Libs who've gone green on that Carter-started bandwagon are trying to "make all of us look like California," Jason complained. And they also come in the form of today's "juvenile" Wall Streeters, who want to paint that boulevard green as well. So much so that Jason said he couldn't believe what he was contemplating: "Raise corporate taxes - on corporate America that has the spine of a jellyfish - bring it on!"

"Commies on the rise?" Jason correlated that, too, as "very similar to the Carter era." All those decades ago, Maggie Thatcher, Great Britain's prime minister, flexed more muscle than trademark wimpy Carter and "came to the rescue." Who - if anyone - he wondered, with other leaders clearly ignoring weakling Biden's obvious flaws (as only the insightful and bold Australian press also pointed out), would circle their wagons around us this time?

Rush, on the other hand, fondly remembers and recommends the times we needed nothing of the sort. Instead of being "blamed" for being a superpower ("America is the problem, it as a superpower makes things out of balance"), who can handle their own challenges and those of any ally that needs bucking up, Rush, as usual, hit the nail on the head regarding the real point.

"People like me think the United States is the solution to the problems of the world," Rush asserted with the confidence sorely missing from both any assertion ever made by either Biden or Carter.

Ultimately, though, politically savvy - and survivor - Jason is optimistic for those of us who proudly keep our chins up and well out of the sand: "I lived through the Carter administration and survived!"

JASON: A North Korean defector, student at Columbia University, spoke to Fox News about this, about what she's observing in American trends right now.

YEONMI PARK: They are so bitter. They have zero, zero appreciation for what this country did, what the Constitution says to protect individual liberty. They have zero, zero appreciation. They are dying to give all their liberty away. They are so bitter. It's like, where are we going from here? The future of our country is as bleak as North Korea, if we do not rise up right now. I guess that's what they want. Eventually, they will destroy every single thing. And then we'd be like communist paradise.

JASON: That's really what they are. They're communists. But it's not pure communism where the government owns the means of production. They have their corporate buddies enforce them. Corporate America is morally and intellectually and ethically bankrupt right now. It is woke beyond belief. And it is taking away your liberties. And then they get their monopolies because they become global corporations and they become enforcers of the government. This is where the Libertarian philosophy falters. Rush saw all of these dangers long, long ago. Now, he also saw the humor in it. And the humor about this suppression of free speech, if there is such a thing, was always ever-present when Rush would speak. And back in 2015 he talked about free speech being under assault.

RUSH: As Chris Rock has said, he stopped doing stand-up routines on college campi because the students don't find anything funny anymore. They're too busy being offended by his jokes. Political correctness has just swamped everything. So he said, I'm not playing college campuses. You can't go out there, you can't tell jokes, you can't be funny 'cause people don't laugh. They don't think it is funny. They're sitting there getting mad. They're getting offended. And so now leftist comedians are all worried. "Oh, no. Now we're going to have to start thinking before we joke."

You know, I don't like to make this about me. And as you people who listen regularly know, I hate it when the program becomes about me and I strive to avoid that. When I hear comments like this I really wonder about the two worlds in which we live in 'cause these guys that are liberal comedians or liberal commentators, they just have a cakewalk when it comes to free speech. They can get away with saying anything. And not just get away with it; they're applauded. And then what they say gets written about. Then what they say gets amplified, and then what they say gets credited as great comedy or whatever.

But there are a bunch of American commentators and, even I dare say, American comedians who have been having to pause and think before making a joke -- for over a decade now. I know people who've lost jobs, who've lost money. Some people who've even lost friends for saying things that liberals in America don't approve of. Liberals in their protective bubble have no idea what happens to people when their buddies set out on 'em and try to destroy them. But my point is this: The suppression of free speech is the goal of people on the left in this country, folks.

JASON: It certainly is, and it is the goal of tyranny everywhere.

Or asking with concern, "Does Joe Biden really have the confidence, like Donald Trump did, to adeptly run this country?" However, Guide Host former Congressman Jason Lewis said, surprisingly, Australian media is alone in the world as both bold and sharp enough to pose those questions (as their news anchors and commentators just did after observing failing Biden on the G7 and NATO world stages).

After noting the many ways the teetering U.S. is now eerily echoing one-termer Jimmy Carter's lacking presidency, Jason singled out Australia for taking to task the rest of the world's media, and especially gushing U.S. outlets like CNN, and telling the truth about Joe Biden, just as Rush always pined for.

"Australian media is coming to our rescue," Jason declared. "And they are the only ones!"

As proof, Jason played a rollicking segment on Australia's Sky News Kenny on Media. Writer Sophie Elsworth, in her question about the glaringly missing straight news reporting replaced with gushing over Biden, added that the situation was beyond embarrassing, "it is really quite appalling to watch," noting that Biden is extremely "lucky" because his popularity will rise due to the inaccurate, glowing coverage.

Nick Cater of the Menzies Research Centre said Biden is a completely unproven entity with "considerable question marks over his foreign affairs policies." America has strength, but it's unknown if Biden will have the confidence to utilize it. Although Trump was criticized every second during his performance at the same global powerhouse event, that was unfair the commentators complained, with Cater noting he "would be much happier to see Donald Trump at the G7."

Jason applauded their insight and moxie, which is glaringly missing from U.S. coverage of Biden and formerly unfairly bullied Trump. Jason's own astute analysis clearly revealed why, as he said, "the Australians get it. They get it!" It's because they are under the thumb of China, he said, not with their heads in the sand, ignoring the clear international threat, like U.S. media. "The Australians understand what China is doing," Jason said. "China's winning!"

JASON: There's a guy in Cape Cod who claims he was swallowed by a humpback whale while diving for lobsters. I told you it was a stretch, but just bear with me. Michael Packard, 56 years old, diving off, what was it -- Herring Cove Beach -- last Friday morning when he felt a bump and then everything went dark. Reminds me of my honeymoon. At first he thought Jaws got him, right? I mean, this is it. And then he didn't feel any teeth. He instantly realized as most people would, right? I'm in a whale. I mean, come on. It's happened to you.

Packard described 40 agonizing seconds where he says he braced for the next moment, thinking, he'd get, you know, eaten or sucked into the big belly and done for. But then all of a sudden the whale realized that this is not the right season for humans and started trashing its head, spitting him back out into the water. This guy's buddy, Captain Joe Francis -- this is Michael Packard's buddy -- says he witnessed the tail end -- pardon the pun -- the tail end of the ordeal and helped bring him to safety.

FRANCIS: I saw Mike come flying out of the water feet first with his flippers on and land back in the water so I jumped aboard the boat, we got him up, got his tank off, and got him on the deck calmed him down, he goes, "Joe," he goes, "I was in the mouth of a whale," he goes, "I can't believe it, I was in the mouth of a whale, Joe."

JASON: You know, I wasn't there for that, but I did sit through an episode of Flipper last night. Does that count for anything? No? All right. Can't believe he was in the mouth of a whale. Packard was apparently hospitalized with some soft tissue damage to the legs, but he's otherwise doing pretty well.

Now, look. I thought for sure, you know, after hearing the story -- I don't know about you, but really I'm going back to Robert Shaw in Jaws. And this is what thought we'd here.

SHAW: When I was a boy, a little squid, wanted to be a harpooner or sword fisherman. What you got here? Portable shower or a monkey cage?

DREYFUSS: Antishark cage.

SHAW: Antishark cage. You go inside the cage? Cage goes in the water? You go in the water? Shark's in the water. Our shark. (singing) Farewell and adieu to you fair Spanish ladies, farewell and adieu, you ladies of Spain. For we received orders for to sail back to Boston, and so never more shall we see you again.

JASON: Well, you go in a shark cage or you get swallowed by a humpback whale, what's the difference? The point is it's an unbelievable story, and I thought the perfect segue to the Larry the Lobster story from Rush TV days.

RUSH: Here's Steven -- back to the phones -- Gainesville, Florida, great to have you on the program, sir. Hello.

CALLER: Mega dittos, Rush. It's an honor to talk to you.

RUSH: Thank you.

CALLER: You used to have a show on TV about 20 something years ago, and I was a kid at the time, and I picked it up on my antenna, and I remember you had this lobster in the background. And you had him in a tank, and you said you were gonna eat him on Friday. And this was before the internet and there's only three major networks. And I just remember how much, you know, outpour you brought nationally because you said you were gonna eat a lobster at the end of the week and what that told me was this. It just showed me that one, Democrats don't have any sense of humor and two they'll make a ruckus out of anything. There's nothing logical about that.

RUSH: let me explain the lobster story, because you watched it when you were young. There are actually two elements to the lobster story. The first element is that a Los Angeles (Malibu, I think) bar or restaurant had Larry the Lobster (they had named him) in the tank. He was big and he was old, and they were going to eat Larry.

They were gonna do what they did, and Mary Tyler Moore and a couple of other Hollywood actresses launched a campaign to save Larry the Lobster, and I entered the bidding to buy Larry the Lobster so that I could eat him and share him with my audience -- and that further outraged them. When I lost -- and then there's a second lobster story. Katie Couric was doing a cooking episode with some chef on the Today show.

The chef is cooking lobster, and the chef started cutting up a live lobster and throwing the parts on a skillet, and Katie was grossed out. (wailing) "Ewwww! Oh, my God! Oh, my Gaaawd! What are you doing! Oh, my God," and the chef says, "Well, this is what you do. You gotta do these a certain way, otherwise they'll poison you. Gotta..." Couric said, "Oh, my Gaaawd." So then we had, later in the week, after playing that...

Of course I didn't bring in a lobster and a chef and all that, but we brought our friends over from Patsy's and started throwing fried calamari to the audience. So we did two episodes with the lobster. Yeah, the Patsy guys came over with just giant vats of fried calamari, and I just started throwing it into the audience in honor of Katie Couric being grossed out by watching the way you cook a lobster. Good memory, sir, because that's 20 years ago.

CALLER: Yeah, it was a long time. I was only 12 or 13 at the time. But, you know, the thing... It's just a paradigm to explain how illogical the liberals are on anything.

JASON: Actually it's a paradigm to explain Greta on global warming from across the pond, how childish liberals -- I'm telling you, Victor Davis Hanson had the best line last week at some point where he said the Millennial left -- and I think the entire left -- is stuck in "prolonged adolescence."

“It’s scary and entertaining at the same time,” Guide Host Ken Matthews said.

"It's scary and entertaining at the same time," Guide Host Ken Matthews said describing Joe Biden's laughable, sometimes "gibberish"-filled performance on the world stage at G7 in Cornwall, England. "I feel guilty because I'm entertained by so much of it."

Ken pointed out that, although CNN's usual editing of their lionized idol Biden makes him occasionally appear to be of the caliber of a local councilman, the bigger world stage ensures he is "more exposed" in a way that can't be hidden.

One thing Biden will try to keep under wraps, though: his anticipated talks with Putin, with whom Ken noted he won't have a one-on-one press conference, although both leaders have said the relationship between the two countries is at a low point.

Ken continued with Biden's antics that are examples of "stuff you just can't write" by highlighting his announcement with other G7 "leaders of wealthy democracies" (as the New York Times called them) to end public support for coal. This stems from them "still milking climate change," Ken said.

Whether it's climate change, Russia, China (which announced through their London embassy that "the days when global decisions were dictated by a small group of countries are long gone"), Ken firmly declared that the "United States is being taken advantage of by the world. Putin is looking at Biden and seeing he's done nothing to stand up to Putin. That's what happens when politicians don't put America first." And that "the problem with this country is that for decades on end we don't get America Firsters in the White House."

President Trump, who Ken wished a happy birthday to along with his own brother in North Carolina, by comparison stands out in looking out for America, as Rush always stressed. Rush was heard noting that Trump in his dealings with "sniveling leftists at NATO" would never let America be the "world's butt boy." Ken said when he first heard that strong, but apt, reference live he "almost drove off the road!"

More current proof of Rush's prophecy? French President Emmanuel Macron (whose security is so lax, Ken noted, he was slapped in the face at G7 by a protester) told the world that it is so good to have America "back in the club." Other than saying he wished Macron might have gotten an additional slap in the face, Ken warned, "When the French president is happy about your participation as the American president, I think we're in trouble."

Ken said we should all be "scared" due to Biden's lacking performance in Europe, as "Quid Pro Quo Joe" has shown that it's "slap around time again."

KEN: There are 10th graders that know more about the border than Kamala Harris does. It's heartbreaking to watch.

KEN: Kamala Harris, to me, is the greatest, greatest failure, that was the biggest loss of credibility. I gotta tell you, she presents herself like an airhead. And I have nothing against airheads 'cause I went to high school once, too, and it's good to have a few around. But she presents herself like an airhead. And it's a crying shame.

And when people were pushing her and asking her, "Are you going to the border? Are you going to the border?", the fact that she's getting angry over that -- she's in charge of the border! Why isn't she going to the border? Can you imagine if that was Mike Pence? Could you imagine if any of this was a conservative? But the media keeps running cover for her, for the most part.

A few Democrats in the media have mouthed off about it, but I'm sure they got a call from somebody, "Stop picking on Kamala. She's doing the best she can. She just got a new pair of Timberlands. She'll be wearing those. She's got those kick-ass sneakers she shows off all the time. She knows fashion, she may not know much else, but she knows fashion. So stop picking on her." But that's an embarrassment. But I will say, as we mentioned before, if you come over the border, you get a free copy of her book. Yes, you do. Yep. You get it for free. Well, we paid for it, but you get it. You get a backpack. You get a copy of her book. You get a train ticket or, depending on location, airline ticket. And you get signed up. You get, like, a voucher for benefits and things like that.

You know, recently we heard from Mike Pompeo. Here he is from Fox News this morning.

POMPEO: It's not the conditions down there that have caused the current crisis at the border. It's the policies that the Biden administration have that caused enormous devastation to the human beings that are being trafficked across the border. This is not only bad for them, it's really bad for the United States. And it's not a result of what's happening in Central America. It's a result of what's happening in Washington, D.C.

KEN: He nailed it. Nailed it. This ridiculousness of, "I'm gonna go down to Guatemala" -- I think that's where she went where she made a fool of herself more than once -- "I'm gonna go down to Guatemala, and I'm gonna check out this climate change thing 'cause that's why people are sneaking into El Paso and sneaking into San Diego. It's damn climate change." No, it's not. Don't be a fool. There are 10th graders that know more about the border than Kamala Harris does. It's heartbreaking to watch.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "appealed to conservatives around the world," Guide Host Ken Matthews lamented upon his ouster. His replacement, Israeli-born Naftali Bennett, the 49-year-old tech founder millionaire son of "Berkeley, California, liberals," Ken said blows up that bond as well as ultimately notions of the "peace and safety" of his brand-new constituents.

Though the new government was approved by only a beyond-slim victory of 60-59 in parliament, Israelis are the losers who will be deprived of Netanyahu's legendary fierce defense of Western values.

Rush, a longtime advocate of both Israel and Netanyahu - who was one of the first to contact the Limbaugh family with a heartfelt tribute for Rush - chimed in with his past support: "I think Western civilization is under attack around the world, but the only thing that Netanyahu cared about is peace and safety for the people of Israel, and he is not going to negotiate that away."

Ken couldn't agree more. Even though bullies and unwell wishers like the New York Times along the way called Netanyahu "desperate and craven," as Rush pointed out in what he called an "outrageous op-ed," Ken, as Rush did, likened Netanyahu to President Trump. He fondly remembered that neither would ever "negotiate away peace for the people."
And I was raised, like millions of Americans, you respect the flag. Even though I'm nonmilitary, I know how to fold the flag, display the flag, the history of the flag.

You never let the flag hit the ground. When you disposed of the flag in one of the -- among the more special moments of when my kids were young now -- they're 17 and 20, almost -- and when they were scouts, when they were Cub Scouts, Webelos, Boy Scouts, we would go to this event where everybody would get their old flags -- tattered, ragged flags, and you ceremoniously disposed of them in the correct way, the honorable way. You burn them, but you burn them together, and you tell stories and you comment on American history.

I gotta say, as a scout dad back in the day, it was one of the coolest events. I have these beautiful photographs of my kids and the other scouts in uniform reading little parts of American history, and then we got new flags, and the flag looked different throughout the years. I mean, there's 27 variations. Actually, as America grew through the colonies to 50 states, there were 27 variations. And I think the left at one time or another has hated all of them. They've managed to hate all of them.

Remember the big Betsy Ross thing. Remember the big fundraiser on the Rush Limbaugh Show. That started because the left, they were acting like knuckleheads again.

We have a great story told by Rush of when he received a very special delivery involving our American flag.

RUSH I've told this story before. Some of you who have been longtime listeners have heard the story, but it is worth hearing it again.

It's May of 2003. A couple of months earlier, we began the invasion of Iraq, one of the first acts in the War on Terror. This was the war that was to remove and eliminate Saddam Hussein. George W. Bush had spent a year and a half traveling the country explaining it, gearing up support for it. It was a major, major conflict in the War on Terror and our response to it.

And it had become controversial, of course. The Democrats, the unity after 9/11, 2001, lasted about two weeks, and then that became politicized. And on that day in May, early May of 2003, I went home. Well, I'd gotten a note before I got home. "You have got to come straight home. You won't believe what just arrived FedEx."

I said, "What is it? Just tell me."

They said, "No, you have to see this." So I got home, and I looked at what I had received, and I was floored. I was stunned. I'd never seen anything like it. I didn't know these things happened. I was moved. I was blown away. I felt small. I ran through all kinds of emotions. I mean, in lickety-split fashion. What it was was an American flag properly folded inside a Ziploc bag. And there were certificates stating that flag had flown on the following aircraft. And each aircraft had a -- well, you would frame it. It's like an official notification of the date that the aircraft flew that flag on a mission.

There were five different aircraft and a tanker. And all of the pilots of the five different aircraft and the tanker had signed the documents certifying that that flag had flown. The tanker pilot was the originator, the mastermind of this, and he included a handwritten note on yellow legal paper explaining that these five crew members had flown that flag in my honor on the initial bombing runs, the first bombing runs in the war against Iraq, the Shock and Awe portion. And, as their missions were completed and as they were all refueled by this tanker pilot, that flag was put in the Ziploc bag and the pilots all signed these certifications, and they were FedExed to me. And they did nothing more than that.

I received this and was floored. As I say, I went through a mixture of emotions, including humility and smallness. And I'm asking myself what have I done -- 'cause this was an honor, I mean, it was clearly an honor. I didn't know things like this happened. Just not enough experience in actual military combat circumstances to know that time was taken for this kind of ceremonial or memorial type event.

Well, we took that flag, and we unfolded it, and it's now framed, and the certificates with all those signatures and the picture of each of the aircraft -- and there's fighters, there's bombers, and the tanker -- they surround the flag. And we had an actual golden eagle carved to stand, and it's about five feet tall once it's on its pedestal. It's huge. And we put this in a niche, big niche in a room right outside my library so you can't miss this when you're walking into the library.

People who don't know about this, ask, "What in the world is that?" And I get to regale them with the story. I said, "Yeah, these guys flew that flag in my honor on the initial bombing run of Iraq." Well, the ringleader of this operation was Lieutenant Colonel Mark Hasara. He flew the tanker. He flew KC-135s, which is the military version of Boeing 707 and the KC-10, which is the military version of the DC-10.

He's the one that had written the note on yellow legal paper explaining why they did it. And it was filled with recognition and support and thanks for the support I had given the military over the years. As I say, I was blown away by it. It was an honor that I didn't even know existed and I had no idea it was coming. And even now when I stop and think about the fact that it happened, it's one of those events that happens in your life or in your career that you never forget and that you're always going to be overwhelmingly and supremely proud of.

Well, over the years, Kathryn and I have gotten to know Lieutenant Colonel Hasara and his wife and his family, and we see them now and then. And, folks, these people that you never meet, they're just humble. When I talk about people who make the country work, these are the people I'm talking about. They're out there volunteering every day, they sign up to defend the country, to protect the Constitution, to carry out their orders. They're doing it because this is how they've decided they want to serve their country.

In Hasara's case, it's been his life, and most of these other pilots, they never really leave it even after their service ends. But they never seek any fame. They didn't send me this for fame. They didn't send this for notoriety or notification or anything else. They just sent it as a distinct honor.

I can't tell you -- I mean, I sitting here, I'm looking at this package and we're going through the process of getting this all framed and I'm thinking, here these guys have their orders, they're part of the initial bombing run, and before they leave somebody organizes this tribute to me by having this flag fly in every one of these aircraft. They're the best-kept secrets in this country

KEN: You know, the most frustrating thing and painful thing for patriotic Americans which this audience is filled with, is the way some of the people on the left speak of the flag and the military and what they're doing to the military. First of all, it's hard to understand. It's hard to understand where that comes from. You see a 30-year-old member of The Squad or some idiot like Congressman Swalwell, and they're talking trash about something that we all know better about, like the military, for example, and what Rush was just describing, the honor -- and there is a level of sacred respect with the flag for a billion reasons. And for that no longer to be taught in schools, it is heartbreaking.

KEN: Rush had a lot of See, I Told You So moments. Here's one. Trump was right.

RUSH: You know, one thing that has been axiomatic from the beginning of the Trump presidency. Time in and time out what Trump says and that drives the media nuts, makes them go insane -- and it's every day and it's multiple times a day -- it is later proven beyond doubt that Trump was correct. By then everybody's forgotten, nobody cares. Trump seldom gets any credit for being right, and he's right so frequently. He is right so often.

KEN: One of the things about that, too, that frustrates a lot of us who are not just conservatives but just we pay attention to the news media, how they cover certain people. When the news media makes a mistake, they rarely come clean on it. It's buried. And we don't have that option. Conservatives don't have that option. If we make a mistake, it's spray-painted all over the place and repeated over and over and over.

And I don't know if you saw the latest statement by Donald J. Trump, the 45th president of the United States. I'm gonna read some of it. I'll quote some of it.

He goes, "Hydroxychloroquine works. The Virus came from a Chinese lab. Hunter Biden's laptop was real. Lafayette Square was not cleared for a photo op. The "Russian Bounties" story was fake. We did produce vaccines before the end of 2020, in record time. Blue state lockdowns didn't work. Schools should be opened. Critical Race Theory is a disaster for our schools and our Country. Our Southern Border security program was unprecedentedly successful."

Until Biden broke it. And we could go on. But that is a great example.

When you look at the content driving leftist media and now the only media that doesn't get censored 'cause anything that President Trump just said there is censored, it's pretty amazing. He's right more often than he's wrong. Who would have thunk it? And you could go back to the very beginning of the Trump administration in 2017 when he was sworn in. They were wrong about the surveillance. They were wrong about Russia. They were wrong about Ukraine.

It's almost impossible not to be acutely aware of the debilitating leftist condition that is unfortunately sweeping - and seeping into - the nation.

Even though we are not misguidedly "woke," Guide Host Ken Matthews deplored that it's almost impossible not to be acutely aware of the debilitating leftist condition that is unfortunately sweeping - and seeping into - the nation. "For many years, conservatives, led by Rush, picking up on this probably ahead of most people, this whole woke thing, this whole political correctness thing I believe has brought our country to its knees," Ken lamented.

"I think there's no greater way to get a country that is as successful and wonderful as ours to literally end up on their knees. And I'm not just talking about sporting events. It's the craziest thing to see this woke thing that's been happening, how it has perverted some of the great things that have happened in this country by great Americans over the years in history."

Of concern to Ken are recent issues that echo Rush's prescience: A New Jersey school district officially permanently removed all holiday names from its academic calendar. Vermont's Republican Governor Phil Scott gave noncitizens voting rights. Hundreds of whistleblowers say the military is forcing anti-American indoctrination on them, Ken noted from The Epoch Times, and of which Senator Cotton (R-AR) has spoken about on the Capitol floor. In Asheville, North Carolina, near where Ken used to live, this "mostly white North Carolina city" approved slavery reparations for black residents. "Woke white liberals think African-Americans are helpless," Ken remarked.

Rush was reinforcing such facts even when the woke crowd just began to stir, like when he told listener Edward from Kernersville, North Carolina, who had called him his hero for his anti-woke and other strong stances, "Woke whites get (everything) wrong about African-American priorities."

Ken sees clear correlations: "As Rush was saying, sometimes it's a pity because there's a lot of ignorance on the left. We know that. Listen to them speak. Listen to Joe Biden. Listen to Kamala Harris. Listen to Maxine Waters. Listen to the woman who -- she's 113 now, but she looks great -- Nancy Pelosi. Seriously. Some of them believe it. Some of them don't. Some people are just elitist."

Sometimes, though, no doubt about it, it's a tactic, a manipulation, a ploy, "a pure poison. And it just oozes from the left," Ken wants it known.

"Rush was just commenting in that last sound bite about white people, woke white people," he added.

"Some of them are despicable. Don't get me wrong. Some of my best friends are white. But let me tell you, there's some -- there's some vile liberal white people out there really doing damage to their communities because of guilt, shame, elitism, wanting to control people, wanting to hold people back. That's not what the country is about. Wokeness and political correctness and fear and critical race theory, all these things, you put 'em in a blender, and they just destroyed the country. Everybody's so off balance. The leaders, the teachers, bosses. How'd you like to work H.R. every day something is updated under the Biden regime? Every day!"

"This is a dangerous time because wokeism is propaganda," Ken summed up. "People that are woke think they're awake." But what he said he would like to get through their dimness is, "No, you are not!"

Following the junk science, our commander-in-chief sees the weather as America's top threat.

On Open Line Friday, the guide host formerly known as Congressman Jason Lewis (R-MN) struck back against the politicization and corruption of the U.S. military. The commander-in-chief, Joe Biden, recently told soldiers that the greatest threat they face is global warming, claiming the Joint Chiefs of Staff made the assessment.

Jason responded by recommending Michael Crichton's novel State of Fear, about how terrorizing a population in the name of environmentalism can harm a society just as we're seeing now. He then cited Steven Koonin's Unsettled: What Climate Science Tells Us, What It Doesn't, and Why It Matters. Koonin (who's no conservative) blows global warming alarmists out of the water. Heat waves and hurricanes are not more common than they were in 1900, and temperatures have remained stable for the past half century.

Retired three-star general Keith Kellogg appeared on Martha MacCallum's show on Fox to respond to Biden's claim that the weather is the greatest threat we face. "I respectfully disagree with anybody who says that. It is not global warming! I mean, when you look at countries with nuclear weapons and have a capacity to strike at us in a terrorist capability, to me, is not global warming."

General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, agreed. "From a military standpoint -- strictly military standpoint -- I think China is the number-one military threat as we go forward, but I also acknowledge that Russia is a considerable great power competitor. ... There are many, many threats, but from a military perspective I put those two up there."

Jason summed up how Biden's putting this topic at the top of his agenda at the G7, saying, "It's amazing we've got a president of the United States abroad on foreign soil (not that he would know it) talking about global warming being our number-one threat." He also found it sad that the head of the Joint Chiefs would have to qualify his remark about China by stressing that he only meant "from a military standpoint." What other standpoint is there if you're at the DOD?

"But if you criticize these people," Jason said, "you're a denier. You're criticizing science. Where did this come from? It came from Al Gore, Professor Hanson. ... There's any such thing as science being settled! You develop a theory, you test a hypothesis, and then you update whether it's settled or not continually. It's never settled. We're coming out of a Little Ice Age, then we go into a warming period, then we go back into another cooling period."

Jason summed up simply: "It's called 'the weather.'"

JASON: Something special happened this week at a hockey game at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale. Singer Nicole Raviv began the national anthem and then made the decision to lower her mic and encourage the crowd of over 13,000 to take over. Here's how it went.

RAVIV: ...what so proudly we hailed --

CROWD: ... at the twilight's last gleaming (singing swells), whose broad stripes and bright stars...

RAVIV & CROWD: ... through the perilous fight, o'er the ramparts ...

CROWD: ... we watched were so gallantly streaming, and the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air --

RAVIV & CROWD: -- gave proof through the night, that our flag was still there. O'say does that Star-Spangled Banner yet wave, o'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.

CROWD: (wild cheers and applause)

JASON: Oh, man, was that great. What a scene at Nassau Coliseum.

This kind of thing is why they call public health "practicing," Guide Host Jason Lewis aptly noted.

Guide Host Jason Lewis confronted the corruption of science on Friday's show, listing the many absurdities from mask use, to vaccines, to politicized treatments like hydroxychloroquine to fight the covid-19 pandemic. He said of Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has now been caught misleading the country about the Wuhan lab leak, "It is amazing to me that people still believe this guy," and then played the doctor's obstinate response to his critics.

"If you are trying to, you know, get at me as a public health official and a scientist," Fauci said, "you're really attacking not only Dr. Anthony Fauci, you're attacking science!" Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) responded to the doctor-turned-celebrity, saying, "I think he's gotten high on his own supply a little bit here in regards to this." Calling for him to be fired, Rubio said Fauci "sounds more like a political figure than he does like a health care expert" and added that he "has lost a tremendous amount of credibility among the American people done very significant damage to public health."

Jason concluded by citing the pandemic experience in the Land of 10,000 Lakes, which he represented in the 115th Congress.

Jason offered a message for "all of the governors like Tim Walz of Minnesota and Jan Malcolm of the Minnesota Department of Health and the state governors who put people at risk in nursing homes, exposing them to covid while locking down youngsters who are now setting records for adolescent depression."

"Nice going, gang," he said. "Nice."
