BRETT: If you’re a podcast listener, you’re gonna want to listen to a new podcast hosted by our own James Golden. It is great to hear his voice on this program this week, and you’ll enjoy hearing him on this latest podcast series. Here’s James.
JAMES: Thank you, Brett. I’m so excited for you to hear the new podcast series, Rush Limbaugh: The Man Behind the Golden EIB Microphone. It’s our chance to share with you what kind of man he was to be with and remind us all why he was so special to so many. It’s a remarkable journey of triumphs, of challenges, and — most of all — the pursuit of excellence. You’ll find this podcast series starting May 12th on iHeartRadio or wherever you listen to your favorite podcast, presented by MyPillow and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
BRETT: It is absolutely gonna be phenomenal. I’m looking forward to it. I’m excited about it, and I can’t wait to hear that very, very first episode. One of the things I learned being here with James and being here with Rush and this incredibly talented team here at the EIB Network for the number of years I was here and for the long number of years that I remained friends with all of the folks here, is this idea that it’s a meritocracy.
You come in and you do your best every single day, and the belief on this team was always this idea that we’re gonna put out the best possible show that we possibly can. Rush was an amazing, amazing talent and an amazing leader and a person who could spot — with uncanny ability — the stories, the issues, the matters that mattered to everybody out there because they mattered to him.
What’s so incredible is to hear that behind-the-scenes story, those stories from James who was here the longest of the folks on the team. I believe, you know, it’s 32/33 years, and the fact is, he’s gonna take you behind those scenes. Not just the on-air Rush, but also the stuff that goes on behind the scenes, and I think it was such an incredibly valuable project.
