TODD: Let’s talk to Alby in Lake Jackson, Texas. Alby, you’re on the Rush Limbaugh program. Todd Herman, your guide host this week. I’m glad you waited. Welcome, Alby.

CALLER: Thank you. Glad to be here. The point I wanted to make was in my bucket list, I had hoped to meet Rush in person. Consequently, my son introduced me to Rush in 1988, right after he started.

TODD: Wow.

CALLER: My son would be out servicing accounts, and I’d see him pull in front of the office, and he’d sit there for a minute, and I could see him laughing.

TODD: (laughing)

CALLER: And I’d asked him, “What in the world…?” He says, “You gotta listen this guy.” He introduced me to Rush, and I had two points that Rush made. I read his first book, and he did an article on abortion, which, at that point, didn’t represent a Christian point of view, just his point of view. But I had read other points of view by Christians, and I thought, “This is the most outstanding article on abortion,” and then the second thing that I thought about that he wrote was his last two or three or four newsletters he gave his testimony.

TODD: Yeah.

CALLER: The thing that really impressed me, Todd, is that probably in any given week or month that Rush would be on the radio, he would talk to more people than most evangelists would talk to in a lifetime.

TODD: Yep.

CALLER: You know, just the fact that he had the millions of people that listened to him, and his word was the gospel. I mean, he was accurate 98% of the time.

TODD: It’s 98.89 now, since he died.

CALLER: That’s right.

TODD: Right. It’s gone up. Now, I want to make sure we get this across. I understand, Alby, that unfortunately you lost your son. Is that correct?

CALLER: Yeah, my son drowned 28 years ago, and my point was, he was gonna get to meet Rush before I did.

TODD: Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Okay.

CALLER: I thought that was really pretty cool because he would really… He’s gonna give me a hard time about it because he’s gonna say, “See, I got to see him.”

TODD: Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

CALLER: “I got to meet him face-to-face before you did.”

TODD: All right. I love it.

CALLER: What a neat situation to hear that my son, who drowned, would be seeing Rush face-to-face, and I thought that might make a really good newsletter —

TODD: Yeah.

CALLER: — article, just the analogy. And I really think that if there’s some way it could be done, it would be wonderful if the program offers his testimony to some of those listeners that didn’t get to read it.

TODD: It’s a great idea. It’s a great idea. God rest your son and it’s such a neat thing: He’s with the Lord also with Rush. Great call, Alby. I’m so glad that you waited; so glad you got the phone call and come on the air.
