RUSH: Now, we heard earlier from Pelosi in the first hour of the busy broadcast today. Pelosi, at her weekly press briefing, had to yet again appeal to the base voters in the Democrat Party to back down on impeachment, that it isn’t gonna happen. She’s told ’em over and over again (impression), “Look, if we impeach and he’s not convicted, he’s (in essence) proclaimed innocent, not guilty. We can’t do that! We can’t have the president judged to be not guilty going into the 2020 election. We all know he is!”

Apparently, it didn’t work. So she had to go out there today and she literally told the press as a means of getting to voters (impression), “Look, a lot of people — and I thought this, too, 50 years ago. A lot of people think impeachment means you’re gone. But it doesn’t! It doesn’t mean you’re gone. Just because you’re impeached doesn’t mean that. Impeachment is like — like an indictment. You’re charged, you’re accused, but you have to be convicted and — and it doesn’t mean that he’s gone. I — I can’t express enough that just because he’s impeached, doesn’t mean he’s gone.”

I’m sitting here laughing myself silly, ’cause she’s probably right. The dwindling brain cells being eaten away by the poison of hatred in her base voters’ mind probably do think that impeachment means he’s gone, and some of them… We had a caller suggest (it’s probably right) that a significant number of these people think that if Trump’s impeached, it makes Hillary president. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if a bunch of her voters think that. Well, along the same lines from the Washington Examiner:

“Democrats Plan Capitol Hill Event to Put Trump’s Mental Health Under Fire — Democrats are planning to host a Capitol Hill event featuring psychiatrists who will warn that President Trump is unfit for office based on his mental health. The event will be led by Dr. Bandy Lee, a Yale School of Medicine psychiatrist and editor of The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump,” hang on “a book that argues psychiatrists have a responsibility to warn the public when a president is dangerous.” So she’s written this book, The Dangerous Case of Trump.

(impression) “We shrinks, we have a duty to warn the public when Trump is unfit!” So they’re actually gonna do a rally. They’re gonna do a rally! Dr. Bandy Lee, who Hank Haney probably thinks is a golfer — a Korean-American woman — has been pushing this crap since even before Trump was inaugurated. Dr. Bandy Lee… Is “Bandy” or “Brandy”? (interruption) It’s Bandy. Bandy Lee has been ranting about Trump’s mental unfitness since February 2017, one month after he was immaculated.

She has repeatedly said that Trump “is the most dangerous man in the world.” You know, I looked this babe up back in February 2017. She doesn’t even have a degree in psychiatry! She’s currently “an assistant clinical professor at the Yale School of Medicine’s Law and Psychiatry Division, where she has been teaching students studying to be public defenders” to become asylum attorneys! She’s not even a shrink, and she’s got a book in which she claims to be a psychiatrist warning people about the dangers of Trump’s mental health.

She does not have a degree in psychiatry.

She’s “an assistant clinical professor at the Yale School of Medicine’s Law and Psychiatry Dvision where she’s teaching students to become asylum attorneys.” (interruption) “What’s an asylum attorney?” Well, an asylum attorney is somebody that’s gonna go down to the border and meet the newly arrived from Guatemala or El Salvador and represent them as they seek asylum. That’s what she’s doing. Now, despite the fact that she’s not a psychiatrist, back on December 5 and 6, 2017, Dr. Bandy Lee “met with more than a dozen members of Congress,” all Democrats, “to warn that Trump is gonna unravel, and we are seeing the signs.”

On January 5th, 2019, she told Newsweek that “Donald Trump’s mental health might lead to the extinction of the human species.” That’s a quote. Trump’s mental condition “could lead to the extinction of the human species.” Who is it that’s nuts here? “If it were possible, [she] said, ‘we would be declaring a public health emergency that needs to be responded to as quickly as possible'” because of Trump’s mental unfitness. “‘As more time passes, we come closer to the greatest risk of danger, one that could even mean the extinction of the human species,’ she said. ‘This is not hyperbole. This is the reality.'”

The next day she told Vox news (not Fox, Vox) that if Trump “does not voluntarily submit to a psychiatric evaluation, he should be forcibly restrained from entering the White House and made to submit to one.” She’s afraid that would look like a coup, though. So there’s a way that she advocates doing this that nobody would see. She said, “We often encounter this in mental health. Those who most require an evaluation are the least likely to submit to one.” Really?

In your minds, the ones that most need it are the least likely to submit to it? If I saw this babe coming, I would skedaddle the other way, and the Democrats are gonna do a Capitol Hill steps rally with this babe to warn the American people of Trump’s mental unfitness. If they really believe that, how do they not impeach? If Trump is gonna lead to the extinction of humanity, how do they not get a conviction? “There’s a reason why, in all 50 states, we have not only the legal authority but often the legal obligation to contain someone, even against their will, when it’s an emergency.

“So in an emergency, neither consent nor confidentiality requirements hold.” She’s making the case of how they could nab Trump, make him sit down for psychiatric evaluation, then confirm what their prejudice is. But Democrats are actually going to do this. I hope they do. I hope, with everything else that is happening. What is the date for this? Let me go back. Already put this at the bottom of the Stack. (muttering) “Planning.” So there’s no date set for it yet.
