RUSH: It looks like the White House is planning a new policy to curb illegal immigration.
Right now, thanks to a loophole in U.S. law, illegal immigrants know they can immediately claim asylum. They’re granted work permits and they are released, until their case can be heard. But when their court date comes, they don’t show up. They have vanished. They disappear into the countryside or into the desert, the cacti, wherever, with their work permits however.
But President Trump wants the new management at the Department of Homeland Security to go after remittances, the money that illegal immigrants send back home to la familia. The U.S. is not going to tax the money, they’re going to confiscate it. That means take it, for those of you in Rio Linda.
We’re talking big money here: 30 billion dollars a year. That’s the second largest source of capital into Mexico from America. The Administration is banking on this new policy to motivate Mexican and other Central American leaders to stop these migrants before they reach the southern border.
So let’s see how long it takes for elected Democrats to shop for a pro-illegal-immigrant judge to throw a monkey wrench into Trump’s cash-confiscation plan. I’m betting they have that judge firmly in their pocket already, and the court already picked, and it may even happen before you hear this.
