Pathetic Pencil Neck Sticks to Collusion Delusion

by Rush Limbaugh - Mar 28,2019

RUSH: The Republicans, in the meantime, are getting some gonads out there. You know, this little guy Pencil Neck, Adam Schiff, is just out of his mind and never has had his mind I think fully focused and working properly. The guy’s such a partisan. He is overwhelmed with hatred. He doesn’t look like he hates ’cause he’s so mild-mannered and soft-spoken, but I will guarantee you that he is one of the most rabidly partisan, anti-conservative people in that town.

He has for the past two years been running around promising everybody that he has evidence of collusion. And, even after the Mueller report was submitted and after Barr, the attorney general, summarized it, Pencil Neck is still out saying that he’s got evidence of collusion! And that’s why his investigation needs to continue!

It’s gotten so bad that the Republicans on the committee he chairs are demanding that he resign, that he’s gone way beyond his purview, way beyond his responsibilities. He’s demonstrated that he’s not fit for this office. Here’s Mike Conaway this morning during the House Intelligence Committee hearing on Russian interference tactics, and he’s talking to Pencil Neck, who is the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.

CONAWAY: Your willingness to continue to promote a demonstrably false narrative is alarming. The findings of the Special Counsel conclusively refute your past and present assertions and have exposed you as having abused your position to knowingly promote false information. We have no faith in your ability to discharge your duties in a manner consistent with your constitutional responsibility and urge your immediate resignation as chairman of the committee. Mr. Chairman, this letter is signed by all nine members of the Republican side of the committee, and I ask unanimous consent to be entered into the record of today’s hearing.

RUSH: Now, Pencil Neck’s not gonna resign, but it’s an important thing the Republicans did, because he is way, way out of the bounds of propriety here. He’s continuing to lie to the American people. There isn’t any evidence of collusion. Folks, there never has been. I mean, this is the kicker! There has never been any evidence of collusion. The dossier is it! That is all there has ever been! There isn’t any evidence. Nobody has any evidence because it didn’t happen.

And even Barack Obama early in the spring of 2016 pooh-poohed the idea that anybody could rig an American presidential election. It’s too complex. There are too many of them. We don’t have a single national election. These are all elections in the states, that the states run. And all the way down to the precinct level.

The federal government doesn’t run these elections, and there’s no way to know where you would have to rig and how you would do it. Voting machines are not connected to the internet. I mean, you couldn’t do it. And Obama pooh-poohed the idea that you could, and immediately went from that to the idea that Trump did rig an election.

I mean, people ask me, “How did you know so soon?” The honest answer to that, how did I know so soon, because of who was saying there was collusion. Folks, I just don’t believe them. Secondly, I don’t think it’s possible. I don’t think it’s possible to rig an American presidential election. In addition to that, prior to the election, there was no talk of this. There was no talk of the Russians tampering.

As close as we got to that was the Russians supposedly hacked the DNC computer! And that’s how the Podesta emails ended up in public on WikiLeaks, but that’s not true. We still to this day do not know that the DNC computer was hacked. They never let the FBI examine it. We don’t have any idea if they were really hacked. And if they were, by who.

I think it was an inside job. I don’t think there was any hacking going on at all. But more importantly, there was no talk — zilch, zero, nada. I don’t care what they were doing, spying on the Trump administration or campaign at this time. You know, we didn’t know all of this stuff that was going on when it was happening, all the spying on Trump and all of the inner workings of the FBI, they wouldn’t go public with this because they didn’t want to taint the Hillary win.

In everybody’s mind in this whole thing Hillary was gonna be elected. The last thing they wanted was for anybody to think the Russians had had a role in it. There wasn’t any talk about collusion and rigging the election before it happened. That only came to life after Hillary lost when she and her team put that whole thing into gear, into motion.

There’s no way they were gonna taint her victory by claiming the Russians had a role. They weren’t even going to say: “We discovered the Russians were tampering trying to help Trump, but we beat ’em back because our girl is so powerful, Hillary was so popular.” They weren’t even gonna go there. They weren’t gonna offer the slightest possibility that her win wasn’t legitimate. So there was no talk of the Russians tampering with the election before the election. All we had was the Russians supposedly hacking the DNC computer.

I didn’t believe this from the get-go, just like I didn’t believe climate change, man-made, just like I wanted Obama to fail. I know who these people are. My whole life has been spent studying these people, and I know how they put plans into motion, how they launch narratives, how they work in conjunction with the media.

When they all start saying the same thing, when they all start having the same basic impetus report, whether it’s in the New York Times, NBC, ABC, I can spot whenever they are running a scam. And this was a gigantic scam. Here is Pencil Neck, by the way, responding to the Republicans claim that he needs to resign as chairman of the Intelligence Committee.

SCHIFF: My colleagues may think it’s okay that the Russians offered dirt on a Democratic candidate for president as part of what was described as the Russian government’s effort to help the Trump campaign. My colleagues might think it’s okay that when that was offered to the son of the president, who had pivotal role in the campaign, that the president’s son did not call the FBI, he did not adamantly refuse that foreign help.

No, instead that son said that he would love the help of the Russians. You might think it’s okay. You might think it’s okay that when it was discovered a year later that they had lied about that meeting and said it was about adoptions. You might think it’s okay that the president is reported to have helped dictate that lie. You might think that’s okay. I don’t.

RUSH: None of that’s true but here’s the rest of what he had to say.

SCHIFF: You might think it’s okay that an associate of the president made direct contact with the GRU through Guccifer 2 and WikiLeaks, and that is considered a hostile intelligence agency. You might say that’s all okay. You might say that’s just what you need to do to win. But I don’t think it’s okay. I think it’s immoral. I think it’s unethical. I think it’s unpatriotic. And, yes, I think it’s corrupt and evidence of collusion. I do not think that conduct, criminal or not, is okay.

RUSH: There is no evidence of collusion. He’s totally focused now. I want you to stop and think about something here. All during this supposed two-year period, look at how it shrunk and shrunk and shrunk. In the beginning, Trump had colluded with Russia. Elements of his campaign had gone to Europe, had met with the ambassador from Australia, had talked to this or that, talked about Hillary emails being in the possession of the Russians.

It started as the absolute grandmother of all scandals, the extent to which Trump had colluded. And then as time went on, it kept reducing and reducing until it finally came down at one point, “Well, Trump colluded when he stood up there and asked the Russians to hack Hillary’s email,” which he didn’t do. He was telling a joke.

And then it got reduced to one meeting, the Trump Tower meeting between Veselnitskaya, the honeypot lawyer, and Donald Trump Jr. and Jared Kushner. They walked out of the meeting when they realized it wasn’t what the Russians had said it was gonna be, and Pencil Neck says, “Why didn’t they report this to the FBI?” There was nothing to report to the FBI. They didn’t offer any dirt on Hillary Clinton. That’s how they got the meeting, but they didn’t have any.

That whole thing was a setup. Glenn Simpson at Fusion GPS, with the Russian honeypot, set up the Trump Tower meeting for the express purpose of giving people like Schiff here the opportunity to say what he just said. It did not constitute collusion. There was no reason to tell the FBI. The real thing here is why didn’t the FBI tell the Trump campaign that they suspected the Russians were trying to put spies in that campaign? That’s the real question, and here these people, Donna Brazile and Pencil Neck are trying to reverse this. “When the Russians tried to make entreaties into our campaign, the Trump campaign didn’t tell the FBI.”

They are purposely distorting this, taking it 180 degrees out of phase, so desperate to keep this alive. Even Mueller did not say anything about the Trump Tower meeting has anything to raise eyebrows over. But by the end of this, that is it. That’s the only thing they had. That’s the only thing MSNBC had, the only thing CNN had. All other avenues proving collusion, all the promises of evidence had never materialized.

All those New York Times stories where intelligence officials and former U.S. government officials are alleging this and that, that the evidence was soon to drop, it was soon to be forthcoming, nothing ever happened except the stories alleging this stuff, but no proof ever, for two years.

And it finally got reduced down to one thing, the Trump Tower meeting, and that’s what Pencil Neck is holding onto here. And he has to totally distort what it was about, why it happened, who’s responsible for the meeting. And still after the official investigation where there was no collusion, he’s still out saying that there is.

Now, he’s no different than this Swalwell guy, Eric Swalwell. We played the audio sound bites of this yesterday. A couple nights ago he was on the Fox News Channel. And he was being interviewed by Martha MacCallum. And she said things to him like, “So now can you finally admit, I mean, the Steele dossier, there’s nothing to it?”

He said (paraphrasing), “What in it isn’t true?” And she looked at him just in disbelief. “What do you mean? There isn’t anything in it that is true!” “Well, says you. Says you. You tell me what’s in that dossier that isn’t true.” Totally turning it around, totally manufacturing things.

I’ll tell you, I looked up Swalwell. I’ve seen him on TV and I’ve watched him on various shows. He’s been on with Tucker Carlson, he’s been everywhere. And he sent out a tweet two days ago, 9:45 in the morning. And here’s his tweet: “First they came for the journalists. Then they came for the elected officials expressing legitimate concerns about justice in our country and attacks upon our democracy. Who’s next?”

This is unhinged! He’s talking about people who disagree with his politics. They came after you? What did they do? Put you in jail? What elected officials has Trump put in jail? How many of you have been transported to a concentration camp? How many of you have been put to death? What are you talking about here, Swalwell? These analogies. Can’t let go of this Nazism business.

Trying to draw comparisons to people criticizing you for being modern equivalents of the Nazis? How many of you journalists, how many of you elected officials have been shot and thrown in a ditch, Swalwell? None of these things have been done to you or anything close to this has been done to you and yet you tweet this drivel. And this guy, he was so smug, flipping the script on Martha MacCallum. This is the kind of guy you just have a visceral, instant reaction.

I looked at his bio. It looks like this guy’s been in politics since he was in kindergarten. This guy has never done a thing in his life. You know, he’s gonna end up being someday Joe Biden, an unaccomplished, stupid but glib lawyer who managed to get himself elected to Congress in his twenties and then never left. Forever getting kicked upstairs to the next job he’s not competent to do because he’s never done anything except be a slick, smarmy, word processor that can’t let go of his agenda or claims even though they have been totally debunked.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: We need to go back, folks, and we need to replay some audio of Pencil Neck Schiff colluding with Russians. This is back in April, April the 10th of 2017. A couple of Russian comedians known as Vovan and Lexus called Schiff pretending to be the speaker of the Ukrainian parliament, Andriy Parubiy. So they got through. They’re pretending to be the speaker of the Ukraine parliament, and they’re trying to tell Pencil Neck that they’ve got dirt on Trump — and Schiff falls for it! He took the call. Here’s the first sound bite…

SCHIFF: Okay. And what’s the nature of the “kompramat”?

VOVAN: Well, there were pictures of naked Trump.

SCHIFF: Okay, and so Putin was made aware of the availability of the — the compromising material?

VOVAN: Yes, of course. Uh, Buzova shared those materials with Sobchak and Sobchak shares those materials with Putin because she’s a goddaughter of Putin, and Putin decided to press on Trump.

RUSH: And they weren’t through. Here’s the next bite. Remember, these are two guys claiming to be the speaker of the Ukrainian parliament scamming Pencil Neck…

VOVAN: [W]e also know who was a mediator between Trump and Russian government who met with ex-advisor of Trump, Mr. Flynn. It was Russian singer, very famous singer, Arkadiy Ukupnik, who met with Mr. Flynn on Brighton Beach in Brooklyn in special Russian cafe: Langeron.

SCHIFF: What’s the name of the cafe?

VOVAN: Uh… Uh.. Langeron.

SCHIFF: Langeron?

VOVAN: Yes. It’s on the Brighton Beach.

RUSH: The most interesting thing is they used a special password before their meetings. They say it, “The weather is good on Deribasovskaya.”

SCHIFF: “Weather … is … good” in where?

VOVAN: “Weather is good on Deribasovskaya.” That is the name of a street in Odessa.

SCHIFF: It’s a street in Odessa?

VOVAN: Yes.

SCHIFF: A-a-and the code word is “Weather is good on ‘Zerabasta’?”

VOVAN: Deribasovskaya. Deribasovskaya.

SCHIFF: Deribasivsk… Okay, and — and I’ll have my staff call up to get spellings and more details on this.

RUSH: Okay. “What’s the nature of the ‘kompramat’?” little Pencil Neck wanted to know. “Well, there are nude pictures of naked Trump.” The guy’s colluding! He’s collecting “kompromat.” They’re running a scam on the guy, and this was widely… Well, it wasn’t widely aired. The Drive-By Media didn’t even touch this when it happened.
