RUSH: President Trump tweeted moments ago: “Mexico is doing NOTHING to help stop the flow of illegal immigrants to our Country. “They are all talk and no action. Likewise, Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador have taken our money for years, and do Nothing.” “The Dems don’t care, such BAD laws. May close the Southern Border!” he said. Mr. President, do it. Three things: Close the border. Send ICE and the Border Patrol down there, and shut it down.
They failed to override your veto on the declaration of a national emergency. Start building the wall. Shut the border. Declassify all the documents involving the investigation (so-called) into Russian collusion, including the FISA warrant application and then pardon everybody. Pardon Flynn, pardon Manafort, pardon everybody! I’d like to see all that done by the close of business today.
RUSH: I have an idea. I think Trump is going to be a different president for the next two years. I’m saying this for the good, it’s a positive. And I just mean now this cloud has been removed, this ongoing allegation that his presidency was illegitimate, that’s gone, and I think you’re gonna see the full-fledged Donald Trump. Not that we haven’t seen the real Donald Trump, but I mean we’re gonna see an unencumbered Donald Trump.
And I think these next two years are going to be a race. I think Trump is gonna campaign against the Green New Deal. I think he’s gonna do whatever he can on immigration. I think he’s gonna try to get rid of Obamacare and he’s gonna have the Republicans try to keep up with him here.
But keep a sharp eye on this because I think you have here somebody who is renewed in purpose and spirit. Even though we followed this every day and we had great empathy for Trump and we were livid over, it wasn’t being done to us. It was by extension. We voted for Trump, we support Trump, everything they’re saying about Trump they’re saying, by extension, about us.
But it was him and his family, his wife, his children that they were trying to destroy and still are, by the way. Not us. They weren’t trying to destroy our families, at least directly. Their policies carry with it great destruction to the extent that they succeed.
But now that this encumberment has been lifted, I think we’re gonna see even more energy. I think we’re going to see, not a renewed, but a newly intense focus on things. I’d be surprised if this were not the case. And I think the Democrats are gonna be hopeless in their efforts to keep up because their focal point is going to be still trying to delegitimize Trump, either impeaching him or getting rid of him some other way, beating him in 2020. If he wins in 2020, impeaching him after that. That’s basically all they’ve got and they can’t let go of it.
