RUSH: Dansville, New York. Diana. It’s great to have you here. Hi.
CALLER: Hi. I think that the whole Jussie Smollett incident kind of spider webs out a lot further than we’re seeing on the surface, because there’s no coincidence that Kamala Harris has been pushing her anti-lynching legislation. All of a sudden, you know, out of the blue, out of all the people in the world who supposedly get lynched, it just happens to be her personal friend, Jussie Smollett?
RUSH: Yeah, I’ve got this story coming up. I was going to get to it in the next half hour and I wanted to take your call first to give you credit for creating the transition, because I think you are really on to something. She has made it known how close they are. She’s made it known that Smollett and her and Smollett’s family… All of these uber-left-wing, so-called social justice activists in California… They are all linked. It is an intricately woven web of deceit.
CALLER: The whole thing just smelled really fishy to me. It’s way too coincidental — and, you know, there’s never coincidences with the Democrat Party. It’s all interweaved all the time. We’re always finding out how it’s so much more below the surface.
RUSH: Well, that’s true. In fact, I’m on record as saying there’s no such thing as coincidences with the Clintons, for example, and that’s the Democrat Party subset. That’s fascinating that you have — just out of the blue — put these two together. Where did you find out that Smollett and Kamala Harris have a relationship? Where did you find that out?
CALLER: Well, she was posting about it on the Internet, what close friends they were, and she was singing his praises, and, you know, calling it “a modern-day lynching.”
RUSH: Right, it looked like it was almost orchestrated response, timed well to what then becomes a call for reparations.
CALLER: Yeah, and she was… You know, she’s been pushing this anti-lynching legislation since last year, and I guess it’s gone through the Senate, but not through the House at this point, I guess.
RUSH: Smollett, by the way, just did a documentary on lynching.
CALLER: Really?
RUSH: Yeah. By the way, I didn’t know that lynching was legal in America. Anti-lynching legislation? I thought it was already illegal. It shows you what I know.

RUSH: Okay, here is the reparations story. My version of it is from the New York Post, but it’s out there everywhere. Kamala Harris, Fauxcahontas, both support reparations for slavery. I think what’s going to happen here is that more and more of the Democrat presidential candidates are going to join in on this.
Now, some of them have spoken out. Like Crazy Bernie thinks it’s a bad idea, but they can’t allow each other to out-left themselves. I mean, if one goes extreme left, they are all going to follow somehow or some way. “Democratic presidential hopefuls Sens. Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren said they both support reparations for African-Americans affected by slavery.”
Well, I think there’s an obvious question, but you’re not supposed to ask it. When did slavery end? Somebody give me the ballpark year slavery ended. Just pick a number, 1868, 1870, 1880, if you want. Anybody still alive from 1880? Okay. “Mr. Limbaugh, you know that’s not how we do this. We’re looking for families and people who are descendants of slaves.” Well, still talking about a long time. But, see, this is not a question you are supposed to ask.
“Democratic presidential hopefuls Sens. Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren said they both support reparations for African-Americans affected by slavery. Asked about the matter last week … Harris agreed … that reparations are necessary to address problems of ‘inequities.’ ‘America has a history of 200 years of slavery. We had Jim Crow. We had legal segregation in America for a very long time.'” Parentheses, sponsored by the Democrat Party, end parentheses.
“We have got to recognize, back to that earlier point, people aren’t starting out on the same base in terms of their ability to succeed and so we have got to recognize that and give people a lift up.” And then, “The former attorney general doubled down on her remarks. ‘We have to be honest that people in this country do not start from the same place or have access to the same opportunities,’ she said in a statement to the New York Times. ‘I’m serious about taking an approach that would change policies and structures and make real investments in black communities.'”
Because, of course, we have never done that. We have never made investments. Of course, investments are not even investments. Investments is a bastardizing language. Investments is another way of government spending and taxation. That’s all it is. Now, for her part, Fauxcahontas voiced her support for federal government reparations yesterday. “We must confront the dark history of slavery and government-sanctioned discrimination in this country that has had many consequences including undermining the ability of black families to build wealth in America for generations. Black families have had a much steeper hill to climb — and we need systemic, structural changes to address that.”
That is Fauxcahontas and her statement on this yesterday. Okay. So I have some questions. What if my ancestors fought and suffered injuries or died to free slaves? Would I get a tax credit? Would I be exempt from having to participate in reparations? Or could I even get in on the action since I might have ancestors, anybody might have ancestors that actually were down for the struggle way back then? Can I get in on this if I can prove my ancestors died in the fight to end slavery?
What if someone benefited from affirmative action in their life? Would that person get a lesser payout? In other words, if we’re handing out reparations for people affected by slavery — of course, this country has done more than any country in the world to try to correct these — you know what’s going on here. What is really being done? What’s being done here is the tarnishing and the continued slandering of this country. That’s what this is.
I’ve been trying to tell people that no amount of fixes, no amount of help, no amount of corrections is ever going to be enough for these people because no amount of fixing can ever erase the beginning of the country. And the beginning of the country is always going to remind us of a nation founded in bigotry, founded in racism, founded in discrimination, founded in whatever. And it’s this basis on which they proceed in their whole quest to transform the country. But would there be a lesser payout if one had benefited from affirmative action? Just asking.
Another question. What if an African American earns $150,000 a year or more, does that person still qualify for a lift-up? Because these people are saying that’s not possible, you see. Because the starting points are not equal. And so a lot of people are never going to have the chance to acquire wealth in America. Well, a lot of African-Americans have acquired wealth. Do they still get a lift-up?
And what about Elizabeth Warren? Will she have to pay back all the money she made claiming to be an American Indian? She got jobs. She got promotions. She got all kinds of benefits lying to people that she was 1/1024 Native American. Is she going to be forced to give any of that money back because she illegally benefited?
And then, finally, what if Democrats stopped profiting from identity politics and vote buying? Would they go out of business? If the Democrat Party had to honestly rely on their policies, issues, beliefs and agenda, could they stay in business? Well, maybe. Possibly stay in business. Would they be prospering the way they are today?

RUSH: Here is Watson in Harrison, New York. Hey, Watson, I’m glad you called, sir.
CALLER: Hey, how are you, Rush? It’s very nice talking to you.
RUSH: Thank you, sir.
CALLER: Rush, I’m a black American. I live in New York, and I think that you’re wrong how you view what the Democrats are now doing about reparations. I think that what they are doing now is in response to blacks viewing how the Democrats are placing illegals before blacks in this country.
RUSH: So you think the Democrats are fearing that they are losing African-Americans, is that what you think?
CALLER: I certainly do. And I have spoken to many people, many blacks who don’t like the idea that Democrats put illegals before blacks. Blacks came over here as slaves.
RUSH: Right.
CALLER: These other people are coming here by choice, and yet blacks have been pushed aside.
The Democrats are not – look, black unemployment is at a record low when a Republican is president. Black jobs are up higher than we’ve ever had. Black income is higher than at any time under a Democrat president. And so you think African-Americans are starting to notice this plus this total devotion to Hispanics and illegal immigration you think is causing some blacks to consider their loyalty to the Democrats or reconsider it?
CALLER: I certainly do. Absolutely. Listen, there are other things going on here, too. You look at what has happened in this country. Blacks have a certain history, right? The whole citizenship thing, if you’re born here, that was called black slaves. It wasn’t for the rest of the world. So there are a lot of things going on in this country that are supposed to be for blacks but it’s now spread out to where it’s for everyone.
RUSH: Yeah, no longer exclusive.
CALLER: Not everyone came to this country in chains. Only one group did.
RUSH: Let me ask you this, Watson. Do you think, and you would know better than I, because all I have is polling data, do you think that there is any movement to Trump from African-Americans, at least enough movement that would scare Democrats, because of the job situation, because of the improved economics and so forth, is any of that happening? Could that also be why Democrats might be, quote, unquote, worried or panicked?
CALLER: I think that’s exactly right. Because it’s not only that, if you look at the housing situation where Trump is trying to do something about that, Trump tries to tackle problems. He’s trying to tackle problems in the black community. And it’s very obvious if you’re willing to open your eyes. So I think that there are some blacks willing to open their eyes. Maybe not enough, I don’t know. It’s very unfortunate because I’ve seen this going on for years where Democrats have taken us for granted.
RUSH: Right. So you actually think that there might be enough worry in the Democrat Party that they are going all in on this reparations business simply to keep blacks on the reservation, so to speak.
CALLER: On board.
RUSH: On board, yeah. Interesting.
CALLER: On board, yes.
RUSH: All right. Well, look, I will admit, I had not considered that because I never thought it would happen. I’ve not been one of these who have ever — because every year I’ve done this program, I have gotten calls from African-Americans who tell me that there’s movement away from the Democrat Party, more and more African-Americans are waking up and seeing it. But it never happens. Still get 90%, 93% of the vote for the Democrat candidate every presidential year. I never see this.
I’ve heard it predicted. I’ve seen people — I myself have wondered why it hasn’t happened on the basis that you bring up. Fifty years of empty promises. Fifty years of literally doing nothing, changing nothing for the better. Fifty years of doing nothing but warning African-Americans that Republicans are out to get them, but never changing their lives for the better. Now going all in on Hispanics, I’ve often thought that there was going to be a minority war, that the Democrats were setting up a minority war because the African-Americans have always thought of themselves as the chosen minority of the Democrat Party, and here come the Hispanics, but it’s never happened.
The intellectual case could be made for it happening, but it doesn’t. The votes are still the same. The Democrats get 90% to 93% of the black vote every presidential election. So I hope you’re right. I hope it is happening now. Because it would certainly be justified. There’s never been black unemployment this historically low, and the same thing is true of Hispanic unemployment. Watson, thanks for the call. I appreciate it.

RUSH: Here is a quick review of the African-American voting situation, according to polling data right now. Democrats could be worried. Polling data says that Trump has anywhere from 20 to 36% approval among the black community.
Rasmussen says 36. Gallup, some of the others have him at 20%. That’s a high number of approval if it would translate to votes. If Trump could ever get just 10% of the African American vote, then the Democrat Party could be doomed if that would ever happen. It could be that they are worried about this.
