RUSH: Andrew McCabe authorized the FBI to investigate whether investigations misled Congress. This guy…
Apparently, McCabe was out of control. I think Andrew McCabe is a very bad man. I mean, just speaking as a straight-up-and-down observation, he is a very bad man. Not only was this guy plotting a bureaucrat coup after Comey was fired — and that coup was to protect Comey’s conspirators. He was trying to overthrow the presidential election. Even before Comey was fired, McCabe was in on all of this along with Strzok Smirk being dispatched to Europe to talk to people.
It turns out that he also authorized a criminal probe of the Attorney General Jeff Sessions! McCabe was out of control, and he has yet to receive the Jussie Smollett treatment. If I’m Jussie Smollett, I gotta be saying: What did I do wrong? This guy McCabe’s out there profiting from the hoax that he perpetrated and is still getting away with and is still leading it! He’s out there, he wrote a book, and he’s being interviewed by the same media that’s castigating me!
“Fired FBI Official Authorized Criminal Probe of Sessions — Nearly a year before [Sessions] fired [McCabe] for what Sessions called a ‘lack of candor,’ McCabe oversaw a federal criminal investigation into whether Sessions [was dishonest] when testifying before Congress about contacts with Russian operatives…” Do you know what Sessions’ “contact with Russian operatives” was? And this was why his recusal so ticked off Trump.
He was at a reception that he didn’t even remember, and the Soviet ambassador, Sergey Kislyak — who was anywhere there was food — apparently, all this guy did was go to buffets. He went to lunch, he went to buffets, he went to receptions. He happened to be at a reception once and Sessions was there, and he spoke to him. (Sessions impression) “Mr. Ambassador, how are you, sir? It’s a pleasure to talk to you today, Ambassador.” (Kislyak impression) “Nice to meet you, Comrade,” blah, blah, blah.
They shoot the garbage over what’s going on. Then Al Franken hears this and brings the question up during Sessions’ confirmation hearings, and Sessions (impression), “Well, I did talk to a Russian; I have to admit that. I gotta recuse myself from the investigation.” So McCabe hears this, and he wants to tear into Sessions for lying about this! This entire FBI under Andrew McCabe was totally out of control, and this guy is profiting from all of this, continuing to lie out there on this book tour.
You know, where is the institution standing up and calling him out like the police superintendent in Chicago today called out Jussie Smollett? This is exactly what I mean when I say, “Our institutions are failing us.” The FBI itself did not even act as a backstop against McCabe, other than to fire him. But that hasn’t stopped him. He’s continuing to run away, lying his head off, talking about Trump still being a “Russian asset.”
James Clapper on CNN says (summarized), “Well, I think we’d better say ‘unwitting asset,’ but, uh, I think it’s entirely possible that, uh, yes, President Trump is a Russian asset — uh, a dupe, if you will, of Putin.” These guys are lying their heads off, they’re lying their teeth off, and there’s nobody to stop them. And the Drive-By Media is soaking it all up, just like they soaked up everything Smollett said until they could no longer report the lie.

RUSH: By the way, Senator Dick Durbin from Illinois has weighed in. He’s not happy with McCabe’s explanation for lying. Yesterday morning Durbin appeared on PMSNBC reacting to McCabe’s explanation for lying to investigators about leaking information to the press.
McCabe has said numerous times in this cockamamie book tour of his that: “When I served as deputy director, I was one of two people in the FBI who had the authority by FBI policy to interact with the media and decide what information as an organization we shared with the media. I don’t consider any of the authorized dissemination of information I was involved in over my course of deputy director to be leaks. They are not leaks.”
Well, Dick Durbin said that McCabe’s explanation doesn’t satisfy him. “I’ll have to say I’m still struggling with the fact that after two decades in working in the FBI, really taking a close look at the questions and answers and making life and death decisions, that his explanation doesn’t really satisfy me as to why he faltered in this moment when he was being asked about his own conduct.”
Translation: “I don’t believe this guy! And I don’t know why, when it comes to explaining his own behavior, he can’t just own up and admit anything.” Well, that’s not hard to figure out. The coup is still underway. And as long as the coup is still underway, the people in the coup conducting it cannot admit to have done anything wrong. They have to basically signal that everything they’ve done is justified because of the importance of getting rid of Donald Trump.

RUSH: Kathryn in Minneapolis, are you still there?
CALLER: (silence) Did you ask for me?
RUSH: Are you Kathryn in Minneapolis?
CALLER: Yes! That is me! Hello, Rush!
RUSH: Hello. How are you?
CALLER: I’m so glad I got through!
RUSH: I’m glad you did too. How are you doing?
CALLER: I’m fine. Say, I have a question for you on the director of the FBI, Christopher Wray.
RUSH: Yes, ma’am?
CALLER: What’s gonna happen with him? He’s got a new boss. Are they gonna start leaning on him? You know, when he was up before Congress, he was so, “Oh, nothing to see here” and not cooperative. Are they gonna lean on him to kind of do what he needs to do to clean up the FBI? What’s gonna happen?
RUSH: I have no idea.
CALLER: Oh-ho-ho. (chuckling) You have no idea?
RUSH: No, I don’t! I have no idea. Let me ask you this. Has anything been done to clean up the FBI? We fired a bunch of these people. We fired McCabe. We fired Strzok Smirk. We fired Comey. But the coup goes on!
CALLER: Right.
RUSH: McCabe is continuing the coup with his book and his book tour. I mean, other than these people being fired, which I think… You know, Mueller fired Strzok and Page six months after he learned what they were doing. He didn’t fire them immediately. He waited as long as he could, and then he did not fire them together. He staggered their firing. He didn’t want to get rid of them, but the inspector general leaked what was happening with their text messages back and forth.
Look, it all comes down to what the new attorney general’s gonna do, and nobody knows this yet. The new attorney general, Bill Barr, was just recently confirmed. We got this news from CNN yesterday that the Mueller investigation is over and it’s gonna be wrapped up next week. (sigh) Why did that happen? I mean, did Bill Barr…? You can look at that one of two ways. Barr is a swamp rat who is going to do nothing to stop Mueller, or he went in there and told Mueller, “End this thing. Wrap it up. This has gone on way too long. You’ve got nothing whatsoever, so wrap it.”
We don’t know. We have no way of knowing what’s gonna happen, outside of people being fired. That’s one thing, but none of them have been investigated. None of them, it looks like, are gonna be prosecuted. You remember the police superintendent talking about all of the wasted resources that Smollett caused — and, by the way, don’t misunderstand. I do find it suspicious that the police superintendent never once talked about the targets of Smollett’s hoax.
It wasn’t “Chicago.”
Smollett wasn’t targeting “Chicago.”
He was targeting Trump. He didn’t drag Chicago “through the mud.” He tried to drag Trump through the mud, and I’m fully aware the police superintendent never once went there, and he should have. But he talks about all these resources. Well, how about all of the resources in the FBI that have been used on a nothing hoax: Trump-Russia collusion? Where is the adult in that room to stand up and say, “Enough of this!” And I don’t… We know it’s not Wray, and we don’t know if it’s gonna be Bill Barr or not.
We don’t know if it’s gonna be anybody.
Time will tell.
