RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, I just got a flash email the upshot of which is that the Green New Deal has been taken off line. The Green New Deal — and now the number of Democrats that have signed onto this folly, this insanity, this impractical, impossible list of proposals is 70. Seventy Democrats have signed on to endorse it. But apparently you can’t find it online. It has been pulled down.

I know some people think that this whole thing is actually a Republican created hoax on the Democrats. I would love that if it is true. I’m not so closed-minded that I wouldn’t — except I know that the people behind this actually do believe everything that they wrote in it. But its purpose may be something else or something in addition to actually detailing the agenda. But regardless, you can’t find it. Elements of it have been taken down now because supposedly it doesn’t stand the test of anything.

RUSH:  Now, if that’s true, if the Green New Deal is in the process of being taken down and you can’t find it online, then somebody needs to be asking what role Nancy Pelosi is playing in it.  Because I am here to tell you, Pelosi puts together this committee to deal with climate change and she doesn’t even put Cortez on it? This is simply a committee where she can park a bunch of these young radicals to do a bunch of nothing while they think they’re doing something.  She didn’t even put Cortez on it.  That’s how seriously she’s taking Cortez and the committee.

But Pelosi and some of the aging Jurassic Park members of the Democrat leadership in the House would full-well understand how the Green New Deal would lead to their landslide defeat.  Yet all of these Democrats just signed on to it without even reading it, without even thinking about it, and four of the Democrat presidential contenders signed onto it immediately and then begged to cosponsor the thing.  If we play our cards right, these people are gonna be sitting ducks, and I actually think — and I don’t want to say this too loud, loudly.

But I actually think that starting with the State of the Union speech… But even before that. But I think, and I really want you to… You didn’t hear this from me.  If you want to tell other people, you know, you claim ownership. But I really think… We’ll never see evidence of this ’cause the Drive-Bys aren’t gonna do it. But I think Donald Trump and just his existence and the way he sticks to his agenda and that speech… I think Democrat Party’s actual imploding, folks.  Now, it doesn’t mean I’m not taking ’em seriously as a threat, but this is insanity.

Everything they’re promoting and talking about, it’s literal insanity on parade.  It’s frightening, because there’s a whole lot of Democrats around this country that love it, sign onto it.  But it’s nowhere near a majority.  This is McGovernism.  McGovern ’72. Look it up.  They lost in a landslide to Richard Nixon. Then Watergate came and they got rid of Nixon.  But McGovern took this party down to… Pshew! If it hadn’t been for Watergate, they may not have yet recovered to this day, was how deeply depressed was their defeat in ’72. And it was much the same kind…

The radicalness of that day was identical to what the radicalness of this day is. Different issues, but the same kind of literal insanity — and Trump is driving them insane.  I think Trump is showing Republican Party how to finally render these people irrelevant.  Well, “irrelevant.”  They have too many judges to be irrelevant.  But what’s great about it is that all this while they think they’re winning and winning big and they’re on the verge of getting rid of Trump.  There has never been this many people living under such giant delusions as today’s Democrat Party and all of their acolyte, brain-dead supporters.  But (sigh) you don’t want to say too loud to too many people.

You don’t want to give up the ghost.

RUSH: Castroville, Texas, next.  This is Liz.

CALLER:  Hi, how are you, Rush?

RUSH:  I’m good.  How are you?

CALLER:  I’m doing good.  Hey, I think we should all just print up a whole bunch of fake money, put it in an envelope, write on there “Green New Deal,” and send it to Ocasio-Cortez’s office. (laughing)

RUSH:  You know what?  You reminded me. I got an email. I meant to mention this a moment ago.  I got an email. Let me get this email.  “Mr. Limbaugh, what if President Trump adopted the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez money policy for spending money on things he wants?  What if Donald Trump just said, ‘I don’t need to talk to Congress about a wall; I’m just gonna print however much money it takes to build the damn thing!

“‘I don’t need a grant. I don’t need to raise taxes.  I’m just gonna print the money and I’m gonna use it to build a wall, and then I’m gonna use it to do'” whatever else he wants to do?  Look, if they don’t have to prove fiscal responsibility — if they can sit there and propose literal insanity and say, “Well, where the money comes from doesn’t matter. We’re gonna tax the rich, and if we’re short, we’ll print some.

“Because the moral requirements for what we want to do are so great, to be worried about what it costs is not necessary.”  Worrying about what this costs, says Cortez, is to miss the point.  These are moral imperatives.  What if Trump would just adopt that same way of thinking?  Go out and say he’s gonna build the wall, and if he has to print the money, he’ll print the money.  Just echo Cortez. Just echo what these people are saying and check the reaction to it.

You know full well what it would be.

Here.  Grab sound bite No. 25.  This is Spartacus, Cory Booker. He can’t wait to get in on the Green New Deal, which you now cannot find.  This was today in Mason City, Iowa, as Spartacus… (Snort!) You talk about dreams?  You talk about fantasies? This guy actually thinks that he can bounce off this gigantic failure as a mayor of Newark and parlay that into the presidency.

This is what he said in Iowa…

BOOKER:  Our planet is in peril, and we need to be bold.  There’s a lot of people now that are blowin’ back on the Green New Deal.  They’re like, “Oh, it’s impractical. Oh, it’s too expensive. Oh, it’s all of this.”  If we used to govern our dreams that way, we would never gone to the Moon.  “God, that’s impractical.  You see that ball in the sky?  That’s impractical.”

FOLLOWERS: (laughing)

BOOKER: When the planet has been in peril in the past, who came forward to save earth from the scourge of Nazi and totalitarian regimes?  We came forward!  Who came forward to save the planet from — or continent from financial ruin?  We came forward with the Marshall Plan.  Our history is standing up and saying, “Look, humanity is in crisis; America is going to be a light and the hope.”

RUSH: Uh, this guy’s an idiot, folks. How else do you characterize this? “If we used to govern our dreams that way we would have never gone to the Moon, God, that’s impractical. That ball in the sky, that’s impractical. When the planet has been in peril in the past, who came forward to save earth from the Nazis?” Hey, Cory, Hitler wasn’t attacking the earth! Hitler wasn’t attacking the continents! Hitler wasn’t attacking the oceans, Cory!

He was attacking the Jews and he was attacking the French and Czechs, and he had his designs on Great Britain. He was attacking human beings. So now here’s this guy comparing the Green New Deal to the Moon landing and the Marshall Plan while one of his believing journalists is out saying the Moon landing was a total waste of time and money and effort. God, these people are idiots. There’s just no other way to describe them than just plain stupid!

RUSH: Here’s Ed, Sun City, Florida, great to have you on the EIB Network. Open Line Friday. Hi.

CALLER: Thanks, Rush. Dittos. Hey, your opinion on something. Given all things the way they’re happening, at least politically on the Democrat side, I think we can sort of say if things continue as they are, Cortez is becoming the face of the Democratic Party. As a result of that, I just can’t see Schumer and Pelosi and their ilk stepping aside and letting her be the messenger. I just don’t see it, Rush. I see a lot of things perhaps going on behind the scenes, just my opinion, but I just can’t believe that they’re gonna let her dictate the message of the party. Just your thoughts.

RUSH: Well, I think we’re already seeing evidence of that with the fact that her Green New Deal isn’t anywhere to be found. And now she’s out tweeting that the Republicans are lying about it and mischaracterizing it, which is a sign of how great the Green New Deal is. And she’s talking about all these 70 Democrats that have signed on to it and want to endorse it. And she’s accusing Republicans of lying about it and writing about it in things in ways that are not true.

Look, these people are not very bright, folks, they’re not very educated. They’re not very bright. Pelosi is gonna find a way to use this woman, not dispatch her. Pelosi would be a fool not to use her. This woman could be brilliant raising money when she doesn’t even know that that’s how she’s being used. But if Pelosi is half as smart as I think she is, she will find a way to exploit this enthusiasm and to use it for her and the party’s own benefit. And that would be fundraising.

She’s not gonna let this woman become the face of the party. Pelosi is the face of the Party. Pelosi is not gonna surrender that. But she’ll find a way to make this young kid’s efforts end up helping the party. She’ll do what she can to make sure they don’t hurt. That would be my guess.
