RUSH: Here’s Curt in Tucson, Arizona. Great to have you with us, sir. Hi.

CALLER: Mega dittos, Rush. I want to give an average Joe opinion of what’s going on here in Arizona. I’m a new transplant here, but, first of all, I want to thank you for creating the prosperity that my family has today, and we’re gonna have to go all the way back to the early nineties where I was recovering from a brain tumor, and my neurosurgeon told me he listened to your show during my surgery. I was asking him if they listened to music and he says in most cases he lets nurses choose the music, unless he’s doing surgery during your show, and then he insists that your show is on. I started listening to you back then. I avoided homeless shelters and all kinds of problems that occurred after my surgery until I got back up on my feet, and here I am today doing quite well.

RUSH: That is amazing. But you know something? I remember those days, when the show was new and it was building and there wasn’t anything like it, and we’d get calls — I remember having calls from doctors who would tell me that they were more productive, a lot of people, not just doctors, a lot of people. And so I began to use as one of the promos of this program “Listen to it while you’re working and your productivity will increase because you’re gonna be in a better mood.” And this is guy doing brain surgery on you is listening to this program. Was not distracted by it. Instead was inspired. That’s awesome.

CALLER: It was very interesting, because it was right at a time where I had left the Army because President Clinton was gutting the Army quite like President Obama did and was just getting on my feet. I had health insurance but I did have income insurance; so we were losing our home and everything, and he told me that I could get some inspiration… I was also young. I was in my early thirties and I was transitioning from phony baloney, plastic banana rock ‘n’ roll music to what I had heard was talk radio.

And I was listening to several talk radio hosts not even realizing who it was until he keyed me in on your name. And I really started listening to you, and you were saying things. You were telling us about Hillary Clinton saying that her husband could not responsible for undercapitalized businesses that were going out of business due to his tax plan. And, boy, if that’s not exactly where I was with my home being foreclosed on.

RUSH: Okay. Hang on now, we’re gonna have to hold you over because we’re out of time here.
