RUSH: Traverse City, Michigan. This is Kyle, 27 years old today. Happy birthday, sir. Hi.

CALLER: Thank you. Hi, Mr. Limbaugh.

RUSH: What’s shaking?

CALLER: Hey, I wanted to tell you why you’ve been one of the most influential people in my life besides my parents. When I was 16, I was in a coma for two weeks and on life support. And I had to relearn everything. Had to learn how to walk, how to talk, I had to learn my ABCs, how to count one to 10. And thanks to you and listening to your radio station, I went to college, went to grad school, and I know way more about all politics than anybody else my age (unintelligible).

RUSH: Holy smokes. You were in a coma for two…? What, you had an accident of some kind?

CALLER: Yeah. I (unintelligible) snowboarding and I wanted to be a professional snowboarder and I went to competition that was gonna change my life. And it certainly changed my life. I laid at the bottom of the hill having grand mal seizures, and I was taken to the ICU and intubated and put in a coma for two weeks.

RUSH: How long did…? Was somebody with you at the moment it happened or were you alone and you had to be discovered?

CALLER: No. There was a major competition in the Midwest and there was a lot of people around.

RUSH: So people acted quickly when they saw your accident?

CALLER: Yeah. There was a ski patroller. He actually, him and his wife both worked in the hospital. They were nurses, and my parents are friends of them now. He actually saved my life. He prevented my tongue from falling down into my throat and suffocating me.

RUSH: Holy smokes. Coma for two weeks and you had to relearn practically everything you needed to communicate.

CALLER: Yep. I don’t remember… I didn’t remember any of the general knowledge that I learned before that like 2 + 2 and my multiplication, addition, subtraction, all of that. I have some life memories, but I had to remember them over again.

RUSH: Wait. Were you able to relearn that stuff standpoint, or you’re still not?

CALLER: Yeah. No actually graduated high school with honors and then I went to college where I studied biology, and I got into grad school and cellular, molecular biology. And I actually on the day of the election Trump versus Hillary, and I (unintelligible) Trump’s gonna win, and everybody laughed at me. And I went to his rallies in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I waited in line for four hours. The only reason we got to see him is because he was two hours late.

RUSH: Yeah. This is amazing. This is the kind of inspiring story that can help who knows the number of people who could hear it. Wow.

CALLER: I want to thank you. You’re such an informative person, you have such a good heart and I thank you for all that you do.

RUSH: I appreciate that very much. I would like to kind of return the fay. We need — are you a subscriber by any chance to RushLimbaugh.com? You probably are not.
