RUSH: I tell you what. Grab audio sound bite No. 1. Let’s go ahead and play it. This was from last Friday toward the end. I think it was in the last half hour of the program, or maybe the last hour. I’m not sure which. Of course, that was the day that we had learned about the pipe bomber, Cesar Sayoc, and his perfectly bumper-stickered van and all that. By the way, the Drive-Bys are very, very angry at me for pointing out that everything in that van was symmetrically in shape and that none of it was faded.
The Drive-Bys very angry at me for that. In fact, grab sound bite No. 2. We’ll play that one first just to illustrate. I don’t think these people understand the extent to which they have damaged their own credibility. We simply don’t accept what they say anymore without questioning it, and they do not get that. I think they insist that we accept what they say without question, and they’ve lost that. That’s one of the one of the (some would say) sad things that’s happened, that there’s just constant doubt.
BRIAN WILLIAMS: Rush Limbaugh this afternoon. talking about how the stickers were too symmetrical on the van!
DAVID GURA: Rush Limbaugh is casting doubt on the suspect’s van!
GLENN KIRSCHNER: … Rush Limbaugh says something like, “You know what? Those stickers don’t look faded enough!”
DON LEMON: (whispering) I don’t understand why Rush Limbaugh would say something like that.
JUAN WILLIAMS: I’m amazed to hear people talking about this is a false flag operation. I’m talking about prominent Republican voices, Rush Limbaugh.
CHUCK TODD: Rush (sfx) Limbaugh was questioning the stickers on the van!
FREDO CUOMO: Rush Limbaugh: This van, you know it’s too perfect. Must be fake! How silly! The side windows of the van are covered. Guy looks out the front window when he drives, Rush!
RUSH: (chuckles) I’m being lectured to on intelligence by Fredo Cuomo there. (laughing) This is the guy who thinks Cubans need to be straightened out on what communism is. (chuckling) Anyway, so you’re not supposed to notice that in the heat of the south Florida, none of the guy’s bumper stickers are faded, and that it somehow is erroneous to notice that every one of those bumper stickers (whatever they were, decals) are perfectly symmetrically placed in the windows of the guy’s van. Anyway, here is what I called my final summation that happened on Friday about why we’re suspicious of the Drive-By Media and the left in general…
BEGIN ARCHIVE CLIP
They have made me suspicious, and all of you. That attempt, this ongoing attempt to destroy Donald Trump, to overturn the election results of 2016 — and it was codified (epitomized, if you will) in what they’ve tried to do to Brett Kavanaugh. It’s no different. And they aren’t going to stop. I don’t need to be told or reminded how fit-to-be-tied enraged they are over their failure to get rid of Trump.
I know their psychology. I know these people in the media, and I know that these democrats, folks, they are just beside themselves that everything they’ve got in their arsenal of weapons hasn’t worked. So given that — this is the sum total of intelligence guided by experience — I don’t believe… I’m not gonna believe just because I’m told than that happened the way it did. And that’s a shame.
It’s a shame that the highest levels of our government have gotten to the point where distrusting them is a common-sensical thing to do. But they’ve brought this on. All of these nameless, faceless, anonymous sources with all of this utter BS. “Every day for two years, New York Times, CNN (impression), “Intelligence community sources and former American intelligence officials tell the New York Times that” blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
Every day, sometimes many times a day for a year, two years. Stuff made up out of whole cloth — news stories literally made up — all to advance the agenda of essentially canceling the election results from 2016 and finding a way to get Donald Trump out of office. There’s a list of people — Democrats, Republican, moderates, independents, Never Trumpers on the conservative side — the whole of the Washington establishment.
So here we are two weeks before the midterm elections. The Democrats have to win! They have to win it. They’ve told everybody that the American people are tired of Trump, and they want to get rid of him. They realize their mistake. They’ve been telling everybody there’s gonna be a blue wave. It’s a fait accompli. Nate Silver: 85% chance!
Two weeks out a bunch of bombs start showing up in places that the media can then say that they are being received by “Trump targets”? I’m sorry. I didn’t fall off the turnip truck ever, and certainly not yesterday, and the world of October Surprises coupled with all the other realities I just exposed, and I think it only makes sense to be suspicious and demanding of proof for whatever we’re gonna be told.
END ARCHIVE CLIP
RUSH: Precisely, because everything’s been so politicized. Everything now is being reported within the context of, “How can it hurt Trump, how does it hurt Trump, does it hurt Trump?” And it’s patently obvious to people now. Back to the phones we go, to Sandpoint, Idaho. Casey, glad you waited. Hi.
CALLER: Hi, Rush. It’s a pleasure speaking with you today.
RUSH: You bet. Great to have you here.
CALLER: Thank you. I wanted to refresh the listeners’ memories of back in 2016 in Philadelphia at the Democratic convention. The first day, there were no American flags present there, but there was a Palestinian flag present inside. Meanwhile, outside they were burning the Israeli flag and the American flag. Hillary Clinton did not condemn this to the point Donald Trump came out and blasted her for not condemning it immediately. So what side’s inciting violence?
RUSH: Yeah, I know. I mean, this is my point. You can cite examples like this all day long that are forever ignored or not even referenced at all. It is a clear one-way street, and if there are even extremists on the left, the media makes a great effort to dissociate them from the mainstream of the Democrat Party, which they aren’t. See, we could spend the whole day recounting instances from the past that point out the hypocrisy of all that’s being said about Republicans and Trump over these two incidents.
But the fact remains here that despite everything, the media is hell-bent on politicizing this or anything that will assist them in creating an anti-Trump sentiment heading into the midterms. And that’s how they first report these things. Like I say, this tragedy at the synagogue in the Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh… I mean, after reporting as many of the details that were known, we’re off to the races on how Trump is responsible and how Trump may benefit or may get hurt by this, and we hope that it changes people’s minds as they head to the polls in a couple of weeks or what have you.
They can’t help themselves.
