The Mob Heading for Our Border Is Meddling in the Election

by Rush Limbaugh - Oct 23,2018

RUSH: Let me ask you a quick question today here. What if it is…? Ah, ah, ah! When it is discovered that the Democrats were behind this caravan, either organizing it or funding it, encouraging it…

Would it be a crime to have helped organize or fund this mass movement of 10,000 people, the objective of which is no doubt to crash the U.S. border? What is more likely, that Trump colluded with Putin to influence the presidential election in 2016, or Democrats colluded with organizers of the invasion to influence this election? Serious charge. Serious, serious charge. This is an attempt to interfere with our elections, is it not? What if the Democrats are found to be behind it?

RUSH: We’re gonna start in Byesville, Ohio. David, you’re up first today. Hi.

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Thanks for taking my call.

RUSH: Yes, sir.

CALLER: This morning I was listening to NPR, and Steve Epstein made a reference to the mob. He didn’t want to call it a mob; he said it was “only a few thousand people.” And then I take my lunch break, and they have another NPR personality saying that it’s such a humanitarian disaster now that they’re standing by the Porta-Johns and the stench is so bad it’s making his eyes water. So they use the mob. They don’t want to say “mob.” They use whatever it is to them, it is to them. They don’t want to say mob. They want to say it’s only a few thousand people when it’s good for them, but when they want to use the humanitarian side, it’s such a disaster that there is, you know, thousands of people… He said the line went on; he couldn’t even see the end of it… People waiting to go to the bathroom.

RUSH: Right. So your conclusion from all this is?

CALLER: Oh, NPR is a great… If you want to listen to NPR and you want to know what the enemy is doing or what they’re up to for that day, listen to NPR. And they’re trying to use the situation for whatever it means for them in that minute, they can —

RUSH: We’ve got a bad connection here. About the only time I’m interested in NPR is when they run pieces to translate what I’ve said for their audience. And that happens… Well, I get the sound bites on that maybe once every two or three weeks. But of course NPR is not gonna call it a mob! NPR is supportive of whatever this group of people is doing! And what is this group of people doing? Who are these people?

We are being led to believe that these are average, ordinary Hondurans, Guatemalans, El Salvadorans fleeing poverty, war-torn poverty and violence and what have you. And it just organically happened, you know, these people amazingly on the same day decided to leave, and they just they just they just, (impression) “They’re just human beings, they just why have a decent life, you know? And they’re coming to the United States.”

Of course, Trump and the Republicans are a bunch of mean-spirited, extremist, cold-hearted SOBs who want these people. That’s the picture. That’s the picture being painted. What are these people really doing? We’ve got reporters embedded in there now. We hear what they’re saying. They’re talking about Trump being, you know, an SOB. “Screw Trump, Trump’s Hitler, Trump’s a Nazi… There’s no doubt this is a political movement.

It has been orchestrated and designed and is being paid for by somebody, and it has one express purpose. It has as its purpose to flood the American southern border and to demand to be let in. Somebody thinks or some group of people think somehow that this is helpful to the Democrat cause. Now, the ways this could be helpful to the Democrat cause is if some violence occurs to them or if they’re able to show that Trump and his supporters are so mean-spirited and cold-hearted that they don’t care about the suffering and deny them entry and this kind of thing.

But for the media to act like this is a normal news event like any other normal news event, it just happened and we’re gonna cover it and we’re gonna report it but that there’s no political objective attached to this is absurd. I mean, I saw a videotape of what’s this guy’s name…? Jorge Ramos or Ramos or whatever. (interruption) What is he, Telemundo? What is…? Telenova, what is it? (interruption) Univision. Right. He’s standing there as a bunch of these people are walking past him.

I don’t know where he was, but he’s somewhere in the midst of the mob where packs of three and four are walking by. And, by the way, folks (chuckling), they don’t look like the kind of people you’d want to run into, you know, on the street. I mean, they just… Anyway, he’s standing there, and these people are walking past him, he’s not looking at them. They’re behind him, and they walk past him over his left shoulder, and he’s vouching for ’em!

He’s telling everybody who they are and what they want and why we must let them in and that they’re decent people, and all they want is a is a better life, and we, as Americans, we owe it to these people to let them in! That all they want is what we want! We all have these various humanitarian objectives in common. And I’m asking myself, “How in the world can this guy vouch for whatever it is now, 8,000 people?”

But there he was down there vouching, trying to tell everybody watching him that these are the peach of humanity. These are the prince and princesses of Central America. These people are beyond approach. He doesn’t know them. He has no idea who they are. Except I think he does. I think he knows what the political objective is here, and I think he supports it and is doing everything he can to advocate for this bunch, which intends to be disruptive and destructive.

But to sit there and to try to vouch for 8,000 people and to tell his audience who they all are and why we owe them and why we need to open our borders to them was just silly! And it just illustrated the political nature of this and the objective. And the objective is to do great damage to the United States. The objective here is harm to the United States and our people.

That’s exactly what this caravan’s purpose is. This is an invasion. It isn’t a caravan. You can call it a mob if you want. But it is a full-fledged invasion. What I like about it in one sense that it is a microcosm of what’s been going on every day for years. People flooding the border, getting in, becoming illegal aliens in the process with no stopping them or when you mention stopping them, all hell breaks loose.

Anyway, stick on the phones here. Omaha. Chris, great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Thanks for taking my call.

RUSH: You bet.

CALLER: Hey, the point I wanted to make is earlier, talking about the headlines, all talking about how Trump was a liar and how he’s trying to stoke the fears, those headlines are hugely disappointing; and they also make me very angry. I kind of remember for eight years when Obama was president, I was a little uncomfortable, and I didn’t really care for how the media just plugged every policy he wanted to push. It was the greatest thing since sliced bread. Now all of a sudden, you know, they’re turning the tables on Trump and saying that everything he does is completely wrong. But I do understand why the liberals are so unhinged is because while as long as Trump’s president every day they’re gonna be reminded by the media of all the things that the media wants them to be reminded of about how horrible Trump is.

RUSH: We had something bad happen in your connection, right as you’re making your point. And I’m not sure… Let’s see…

CALLER: Am I still there?

RUSH: Why are they unhinged? They’re gonna be reminded by the media what?

CALLER: Well, every day when they… The media is telling them every day how horrible Trump is, and that’s where their heads are at, their soft heads are at. So every day they’re reminded of the guy they hated in office and all the bad things he’s doing. So while we were uncomfortable on the other side with Obama for eight years, the media’s now kind of stoking their fires with, you know, how bad Trump is, and they see that every day in the media.

RUSH: Who sees that every day in the media?

CALLER: The liberals. The Democrats. When they open the paper and see, oh, Trump’s a liar, they’re like, yeah, oh, my gosh, drive them crazy. But it just… The people that hate Trump it makes them hate him even more. But thank God it’s not a majority.

RUSH: Okay. Well, look. I’m glad you called. I appreciate it. We’ll chat next time.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: The Politico has a story here, “Why Trump Is Talking Nonstop About the Migrant Caravan.” Why Trump is talking about the mob,” and the subhead: “Republicans saw immigration as a winning midterm rallying cry and the Central American caravan heading cable TV created an opening for the president.” So this guy… Actually, two people, Christopher Cadelago and Ted Hesson. They obviously think that this is just average, normal.

Like people get up and go to the grocery story, 7,000 people got up and joined a caravan to go to the United States. You know, have a little however-long-it-takes vacation. “Hey, let’s get up and go to the United States!” So the media is gonna cover the thing, and somehow it has ended up as a benefit to Trump. “Earlier this…” Well this is how this story begins.

“Earlier this month, President Donald Trump’s political team reviewed polling from congressional districts that were competitive in the 2016 election. They showed that border protection, safeguarding immigration officers and standing up to illegal immigration resonated with voters there, according to a person with knowledge of the president’s strategy.” What do you mean, “according to a person with…”? Common sense!

The president made a big… Have you people in media ever heard of the wall? Immigration, illegal immigration, shoring up the border, protecting the sovereignty of United States is why Donald Trump got elected. You need focus-group research to prove this to you? “The president seized on the issues as winners for Republicans attempting to preserve their congressional majority.” Ohhhh!

So Trump has lucked into this because these people in the caravan chose the wrong time to show up! Next paragraph: “Trump has since found the perfect opening with a migrant caravan snaking up through Central America toward the U.S. border — and hitting his favorite cable news TV shows. And now the president is talking and tweeting nonstop about the caravan, hoping his strategy will pay off in the final two weeks before Election Day.”

Like these people in the media have nothing to do with this caravan, like their buddies in the Democrat Party and their leftist donors, have nothing to do with this. Why, this thing just happened, and Trump… And we know this because we looked at research data, the media says. “Trump made a big deal out of immigration in 2016, and he’s doing it again!” Why don’t you people go all the way and accuse Trump of putting together this caravan?

I’ve been waiting for the media to try that. I’ve been waiting for somebody in the Drive-Bys to suggest that Trump and the Republicans might actually be behind this. They quote Trump from his rally last night. “The Democrats don’t care what their extremist immigration agenda will do to your neighborhoods or your hospitals or your schools. They don’t care that the mass illegal immigration will totally bankrupt our country.”

And then they quote a tweet from Trump: “Every time you see a Caravan, or people illegally coming, or attempting to come, into our Country illegally, think of and blame the Democrats for not giving us the votes to change our pathetic Immigration Laws! Remember the Midterms!” Then these guys say, “Trump sees a twofold advantage. It’s a way to argue that his opponents have ‘turned a blind eye to the problem’…

“Although Democrats remain strongly favored to win back the House, overhead TV pictures of thousands marching north have them spooked. Asked if the timing worried him, a national Democratic strategist said, ‘in the Senate, yes.'” What? So in the House it’s a good deal, in the Senate it’s not a good deal? The Democrats are admitting that they’re spooked over this? “Even before the caravan, most congressional Democrats saw immigration as a loser for them.

“‘It is very difficult to win on immigration with vulnerable voters in the states Trump carried in 2016,’ advised a memo circulated among Democratic congressional offices in recent weeks … ‘Even the most draconian of Republican policies, like family separation and deporting Dreamers’ persuaded relatively few of those polled to vote Democrat…

“On Monday, Trump unleashed an explosion of immigration-focused statements, warning on Twitter that he may deploy the military to the border and threatening to cut off aid to Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador,” which he has doubled down on, by the way. So this is a story trying to tell brain-dead people that read Politico why Trump is talking nonstop about the caravan, because it’s gonna help him with immigration!

Well, who do they think is behind this? Some of the stuff in the media is literally mind-boggling, the attempt here to be unattached to it or disengaged from it. When you get down to brass tacks, most people in the media would be supportive of the people in this caravan being allowed/let in the country because they are every day anyway! Whether people show up in groups of two or five or 10 or in a mob of 7,000, the left is in favor of letting them in!

Now they’re worried that this is gonna be a boon to Trump right before the midterm elections, which it is! But when you stop and think the Democrats are behind this, has to be Democrat donor money behind this. And the reason I say this, it may make no sane, it may…. ‘Cause this report is right. This is helping Trump. So why would the Democrats do this? Folks, they’re not rational right now. This group of people throughout the media…

The Democrat Party itself, and all of their social media base voters I’m telling you are so poisoned with hatred and resentment, all of these emotions they have felt following election night 2016 and all of the times in the past two years they thought that Trump was gone. You gotta put yourselves in their shoes. Every day they’ve gotten up for two years and they’ve read in the New York Times how Trump is toast! They’ve read it’s only a moment of time before, a matter of time before proof that he colluded with Putin is gonna be revealed.

They’ve believed these two years that Mueller has the goods. So they get up every day believing that Trump is history sooner rather than later, and nothing happens! Trump just keeps chugging, his rallies get bigger, they get happier, they get more raucous. The Democrats get more panicked. Everything they do to try to take Trump out or to stop Trump in his tracks like the Kavanaugh thing is backfiring on them.

Now we’ve got Pelosi out there promising subpoena power, saying (summarized), “Yeah, we’re gonna investigate Trump. We’re gonna investigate everybody in this administration” as the reason for the Democrats to win back the House. They have lost all grounding here in rationality. And they’re perplexed because none of what they have done has worked. You know why it hasn’t worked? It’s getting back to the same old thing.

They can’t persuade you to abandon Donald Trump. They can’t persuade you to stop going to Trump rallies. They can’t convince you to look at Trump and see him the way they do. And they’re just fit to be tied over it. They’re at their wits’ end right now. So they’re running these polls showing you the blue wave, 85% chance the Democrats win just to make themselves feel better about things. But they really don’t.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Mike Pence says that the Honduran president told him that Venezuela is funding this mob. This is a Breitbart story: “Vice President Mike Pence on Tuesday said Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez told him that the migrant [mob] marching toward the U.S.-Mexico border is ‘financed by Venezuela.'” Now, I’ve got serious questions. Venezuela have any money.

Well, I take that back. I take that back. The Venezuelan government, it’s like… Sorry. (chuckles) It’s the Venezuela people that don’t have anything because their government has it all. My bad. Venezuela could be funding this. “Pence made the allegation while defending President Donald Trump’s assertion that Middle Easterners make up a part…” By the way, why is…? Have you noticed the Drive-Bys are outraged by that?

Trump is saying that there’s some Middle Easterners in there. There are some Middle Easterners in this caravan! They’ve been identified. We got people down there embedded in this thing. There are people from all over the place in this caravan. They’re not just from Honduras and Guatemala, and they’re not just Hispanic or Latino. But why get mad about that? What’s the point?

If there’s Middle Easterners in there, why does the media go bat crazy trying to deny that? What’s wrong with Middle Easterners being in a caravan to destroy the U.S. immigration system? “Pence made the allegation while defending President Donald Trump’s assertion … in an interview with Washington Post national political reporter Robert Costa.

“‘It’s inconceivable that there are not people of Middle Eastern descent in a crowd of more than 7,000 people advancing toward our border,’ Pence said. ‘In the last fiscal year, we apprehended more than 10 terrorists or suspected terrorists per day at our southern border from countries that are referred to in the lexicon as ‘other than Mexico’ — that means from the Middle East region.’ The vice president then revealed that Hernandez told him that ‘leftist groups’ from the Central American country organized the caravan, ‘financed by Venezuela’ to ‘challenge our sovereignty, challenge our border.'”

Well, we’ll see. Venezuelans do hate us, the Venezuelan government does. You know, it’s become almost habitual to associate all this with George Soros, ’cause he funds so much of this kind of stuff. We will eventually find out. We will eventually find out everything we need to know about who this is, and none of us are gonna be surprised.
