RUSH: I have to tell you, folks, President Trump just hit a grand-slam home run at the United Nations.
In everything he touched on and everything he spoke about, he had… I never thought I would ever see this! He looked ’em right in the eye, and he told ’em why socialism and communism are abject failures every time they’ve been tried, everywhere they are. He looked ’em right in the eye and told them everything.
You know what did not come up? Not one word, not one syllable, not one reference to climate change or global warming at the United Nations in the speech by President Trump.

RUSH: Okay, folks, you gotta hear this. This is Donald Trump today at the United Nations. You know, I have a pretty good memory. I don’t remember hearing this this way. I know we’ve had presidents go up and provide lip service in attacking the Soviets back during the Cold War. But taking on communism and socialism, using Venezuela as the real-life example of the horror — the sheer horror and terror of socialism and communism — with a bunch of communist dictators in the room, a bunch of tyranny experts in the room? Donald Trump — without a raised voice, without any bombast — let them have it.
THE PRESIDENT: Not long ago, Venezuela was one of the richest countries on earth. Today, socialism has bankrupted the oil-rich nation and driven its people into abject poverty. Virtually everywhere socialism or communism has been tried, it has produced suffering, corruption, and decay. Socialism’s thirst for power leads to expansion, incurring, and oppression. All nations of the world should resist socialism and the misery that it brings to everyone. In that spirit, we ask the nations gathered here to join us in calling for the restoration of democracy in Venezuela.
RUSH: Man, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. His entire speech at the U.N. was perfection from beginning to end. In tone, in comportment, in morality, perfect. It was a grand-slam home run. Even the Never Trumpers — who I think are the most dangerous Trump critics out there. These Never Trumpers on the right, even they cannot poke holes at Trump’s behavior in this particular address.
