RUSH: “Republican Party Favorability Highest in Seven Years.” This story hit right near the end of the program yesterday. It’s a Gallup poll. “Forty-five percent of Americans now have a favorable view of the Republican Party, a nine-point gain from last September’s 36%.”

The Republican Party is trending up. Trump is trending up. Consumer confidence is at a record high. The real-life events in America do not indicate a massive vote for Democrats in November. Life on the ground, as people live it. Republican Party favorability sky-high, during all of this? Trump’s approval numbers jumping up during all of this? Don’t buy this blue wave business.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: President Trump is calling this entire episode with Christine Blasey Ford and Miss Ramirez a con game. Sound bites coming up. In addition to the Republican Party favorability highest in seven years, Rasmussen finds 42% say the U.S. heading in the right direction, 52% say wrong track. But last year at this time, 33% said we were heading in the right direction and 60% said in the wrong direction. So trends are toward massive improvement in people’s assessment of life on the ground, and here’s more from the same Gallup poll.

Democrats Lose Advantage with Middle Class Americans, Gender Gap Collapses.” Whoa! Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! Gender gap? Gender gap is male-female gap. What that usually means, when the media starts talking gender gap, is Republicans are losing the female vote because they conduct a War on Women! “The Democratic Party’s advantage among American women suffered a six-percentage point swing over the past year, according to a Gallup poll released Monday. …

“In the latest poll, the GOP favorability rating rose to 40%. The Democrat favorability fell by one point. That leaves Democrats with just an eight-point advantage. Democrats have completely lost their advantage with American men. … Republicans also now enjoy an advantage with middle-class voters. A year ago, Democrats led Republicans 46 to 36 among voters earning $30,000 and $74,999 annual. Now Republicans have the lead, 49 to 45.” Now, none of this argues for a blue wave.

The media says that we’re gonna blue wave ’cause everybody hates Trump and everybody hates the Republicans, and they’re justified. Why, just look at the Christine Ford situation, and that’s it. Oh, they have their polling data. The generic ballot — and you know what they’re doing with the generic ballot? The generic ballot poll came out the other day, registered voters, Democrats have a 12-point advantage or some such thing in the generic ballot.

But the generic ballot of registered voters doesn’t mean anything. Likely voters is the key. They ran their data among likely voters, and the 12-point edge shrank to six! It’s still the six-point edge for the Democrats, but again it’s with no names on ballots, just the party preference thing.
