RUSH: Back to the phones we go, to Columbus, Nebraska. Victor, it’s great to have you, sir. How are you doing?
CALLER: Real good. And I thank you so much for taking my call. I’ve been trying to get on for so many years, and again I want to thank you for all you do. You know, you’ve been a big part of my life the last 30 years. I go back to The Way Things Ought to Be and See, I Told You So and all the way back. But beside the point, I want to thank you for what you’ve meant to me.
RUSH: Wow. God bless you, sir. Thank you very much.
CALLER: Okay. God bless you. Okay. You got anything else?
RUSH: You called here. Is that what you wanted to say?
CALLER: Yeah. Well, like I said, I could go on. I tell you, when I think about —
RUSH: Well, what’s bugging you about politics? I mean, you say could talk about politics. What’s bugging you about it?
CALLER: Okay, there’s a lot of things. Number one, things have changed in the last eight years from Obama to all the interruptions we have, not only racially but otherwise, our whole country has changed so much. And the Dems and the media are just all in line for them, and they don’t give President Trump a breath of air. They’re just on him constantly.
RUSH: I know exactly what you’re talking about. When you talk about the eight years of Obama, let me see if I can voice this, because I’ve tried to say the same thing. We had the eight years of Bush, and I’ve always known the left is there. And I’ve always known that liberalism is liberalism. But seemingly within three months of the Obama inauguration, this country, it’s like a bunch of radical, anti-American leftists seemed to materialize on the spot. And Obama seemed to be what was responsible for making them feel comfortable enough to do so. It’s not that I didn’t know they were there. It’s that I didn’t know we had — I don’t know how to say it — I didn’t know we had gotten that close to losing the country.
There’s some crazed people who have been propagandized from very formative young ages with multiculturalism and identity politics to where they genuinely hate this country. They genuinely think this country is the problem in the world. And I was just shocked and stunned by how prevalent it seemed to be. And I was shocked and stunned to see how much of the Democrat Party had been taken over by that kind of radical thinking.
I have to admit, I was unprepared for it. It’s a fine line. I knew they were there. I knew that they thought and believed the way they did. But I didn’t know that they owned pop culture to the point that they did. I don’t think it was naive. I was caught by surprise. Obama’s campaign did not contain the kind of stuff that surfaced. Obama’s was a, you know, center-left campaign. He was filled with things that hid his radicalism. His campaign was designed to hide his radicalism. And I knew who Obama was. So, anyway, I know how Victor here is feeling. It just rips your heart out. Anyway, Victor, thank you very much. I appreciate it.
