RUSH: Let’s go to the audio sound bites. We’re gonna go back to March 19th this year, me, to set up what’s coming next with James Clapper. Are you ready? Three, two, one, hit it.
RUSH ARCHIVE: The Mueller investigation is the cover-up. The Mueller investigation is to hide what Mueller and the establishment and the Democrats and the media and crooked, Crazy Hillary were doing all during the campaign. The Mueller investigation is to hide that, is to cover up what they did under the guise of trying to find so-called perps and enemies, which are Trump and Russia.
RUSH: I want to remind you again — not to get too much time between these reminders — Christopher Wray, the director of the FBI, was at the Aspen Institute for skiing. And they had an ideas summit out there. And he told everybody — I think Walter Isaacson still runs this place. There’s a lodge halfway up one of the mountains. They all go up there. They have lunch, and that’s the Aspen Institute. And they sit around and do their ideas, and then they come back later, go skiing.
And Christopher Wray said, “The Russians never tamper with our election infrastructure.” What they do is attempt to destabilize by generally focusing on the losers and trying to create news items, Twitter feeds, what have you, that make the losers think that they were cheated. The Russians, said Christopher Wray, are all about destabilization.
Oh, and do you know what else he said? He said the real cyber threat, the actual real threat to United States is from the ChiComs. The People’s Republic For the People of China. Now, Trump has said the same thing and the Drive-Bys just pilloried him. Trump said the same thing about the ChiComs. Thomas Friedman of the New York Times loves the ChiComs. Thomas Friedman drools over the way the ChiComs do things.
He has written about how in China there are 10 or 11 really elite people, smart people, they devise everything. They design the buildings, they design the railway, they design the infrastructure, they design the traffic flows, they do everything, 10 or 11 really, really smart people. We need to do like that in the United States, says Thomas Friedman of the New York Times. The left used to love the Soviet Union. Now they love China.
Trump talked about China being every bit the big enemy that the Russians are. The media just made fun of him left and right for it. Now here comes the FBI director pointing out that an even greater threat now, particularly in the area of cyber threats, is the ChiComs. Where has this news been the past two years? Here’s the director of the FBI admitting the Russians don’t tamper with our actual elections.
Barack Obama said the same thing, and common sense tells you they’re right. With hundreds of millions of votes there’s no way anybody could rig a national presidential election, but they can tamper with the information systems. They can engage in the information systems and try to destabilize. And as Wray pointed out, they love to focus on the losers.
If the losers think they were cheated, then you have an ongoing complaint about the electoral system and its integrity, and that’s exactly what’s happening here. The Democrat Party is personally doing more to attack the integrity and honor of our elections than anything Vladimir Putin could have dreamed of while riding around shirtless on one of his horses on the way to one of the oligarchs’ yachts for a Fourth of July fireworks celebration. And that’s just the way it is.
So the Mueller investigation is actually a distraction. It is to cover up the real tampering, the real collusion that occurred with the Democrats and the Obama intelligence agencies attempting to undermine the 2016 election. Given that, James Clapper was on Anderson Cooper — you remember Anderson Cooper, former president of the United States — of course not. Anderson Cooper couldn’t do one-tenth of what Donald Trump has done. But Trump’s the idiot, right?
Anderson Cooper speaking to the Obama-era Director of National Intelligence. Question: “How can we reconcile the president attacking you, but apparently after a very long time, finally saying he allegedly agrees with the product of the intelligence community that you yourself oversaw?”
Let me translate the question. They get mad at Trump because they say he undercut American intelligence with Putin and they demand that he fix it. So Trump went out there and fixed it. “I have great faith in my intelligence people.” Anderson Cooper says, “Okay. How can we reconcile the president attacking you and then, after a very long time, finally saying he agrees with the product of your community that you oversaw, how do you reconcile this?”
CLAPPER: With respect to the Russian meddling, if it weren’t for President Obama, we might not have done the intelligence community assessment that we did that set off a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today, notably Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation. President Obama is responsible for that and it was he who tasked us to do that intelligence community assessment in the first place. I think that’s an important point when it comes to critiquing President Obama.
RUSH: Wait a minute. Did he really mean to say this? Did he really mean to say that Obama ordered all of this? Because that’s what he said. You heard him. “President Obama is responsible for that.” “We set off a whole sequence of events which are still unfolding today.” I.e., Mueller’s investigation, President Obama is responsible for that. It was he who tasked us to do that intelligence community assessment in the first place.
Okay. Some questions. When did the Russians interfere in our elections? Can somebody tell me the year? What year are we talking about? Come on. It’s real simple. What year did the Russians tamper in our elections? What’s the allegation? Very good, 2016. That was the election they tampered in. Who was president in 2016. Barack Hussein O. Who was head of the CIA in 2016? John Brennan. Who was the director national intelligence in 2016? That would be James Clapper. Who was head of the FBI in 2016? Comey. Preceded by Robert Mueller.
So now it’s two years later, it’s 2018, and all of those people are blaming who for all of this? Donald Trump. Obama was president. Brennan was at the CIA. Clapper, director national intelligence. Mueller and Comey at the FBI. That’s when the Russians were supposedly meddling and tampering. That’s supposedly where the collusion was going on. They were all in power letting the Russians get away with it. They knew it. Clapper just said Obama tasked us with finding this out. Obama told his cyber chief to stand down when they found out about the Russians meddling. How is any of this Donald Trump’s fault?
