CALLER: I can’t believe I got through to you, Rush. I have been listening since 1988 and called hundreds of times and never got through.

RUSH: Well, I’m glad you did. Congratulations. I know what a big deal it is. If I were in your shoes, it’d be the event of the year.

CALLER: It’s even a big deal to you. I was a dyed in-the-heart liberal — or dyed-in-the-wool liberal — from Massachusetts 30 years ago and not even close now. But I’m calling because yesterday you were talking about Licensed to Lie, by Sidney Powell.

RUSH: I did, yes.

CALLER: I was driving, so I asked my wife to look it up for me on Amazon, and she did. And there was a brand-new copy available for $29. A few minutes later I asked her, I said, “Hey, see what you can find for a used one.” And she went back, and she says, “What?” The prices went up from 29, the cheapest one was now $77.90 —

RUSH: Whoa, whoa, whoa, 77 bucks, the price went from 29 to $77?

CALLER: Oh, but that’s not all of it, Rush.

RUSH: Wait a second.

CALLER: I sent her back even one more time, and then I saw $599, 631, a collector’s edition at $1,303, all used. And I got screenshots to prove it.

RUSH: I don’t doubt, but those 599 or 631, those are e-bays or —

CALLER: No, this is Amazon. This is all Amazon. It’s all the same site. All she did was refresh.

RUSH: So $631 bucks for a book?

CALLER: Yes, sir.

RUSH: There’s something — are you sure they weren’t packaging it with some other books? Snerdley’s in there nodding.

CALLER: I’m completely positive, Rush. The way it is — and I put this on my Facebook page, #Rushmovesmarkets.

RUSH: Yes, long ago established. But I didn’t —

CALLER: That’s astounding, isn’t it?

RUSH: I bought the e-book version like three weeks ago for whatever it was, I don’t know, $24.99.

CALLER: Yeah.

RUSH: This book is four years old.

CALLER: The Kindle version was $7.

RUSH: Kindle version was seven.

CALLER: Yeah.

RUSH: Do you read e-books or did you want the actual book?

CALLER: No, I’m a hardcover guy. I don’t care hard or paper, but I like to read with a book in my hand.

RUSH: So which version — did you have your wife buy one of them? Which one did you get?

CALLER: Oh, no, we didn’t, I’m a cheapskate too. I was gonna get it used at a cheaper price. So I haven’t gotten it.

RUSH: Well, see, if you had an iPad or a Kindle you’d go in there and get it for seven bucks and you’d have the same words and it’s convenient reading on one of those devices. But I had no idea. I’ve never heard of this.

CALLER: Isn’t that crazy? Yeah. My eyes were just bugging when she said that. I was driving down —

RUSH: Can your wife see? Can she read?

CALLER: Of course she can read.

RUSH: ‘Cause this seems unbelievable.

CALLER: We’re retired. We weren’t born yesterday. She just retired working as a quality assurance test manager in software development. I mean, she knows what —

RUSH: Well, then she can read, no question about that. I just thought maybe she was missing a decimal point in these prices or something.

CALLER: I know it’s hard — I was astounded, especially the second refresh when it went up over a thousand dollars for the so-called collectable edition.

RUSH: Right. I’m blown away by this too. You’ve caught me a little flat-footed here. I did not know any of this. I mean, this is the first I’ve heard about any of this since the program ended. I mean, I know there was probably gonna be some additional sales of the book yesterday, but I had no idea of this.

This book is four years old. Anyway, I’m glad people are gonna get this thing and read it ’cause it is explosive. I don’t know how it sat out there as stable as it has been. So I’m glad you’re gonna — you’ll eventually get it, and when you do, you’ll be glad you did. I appreciate the call.
