RUSH: One more thing before we go to the break. And after the break we’re gonna get to the phone calls. Be patient. I’m coming to you. I want to take you back to September 25, 26, 27, 2017. Sound bite No. 2 here.

This is a montage from a bunch of Drive-By Media people after the Puerto Rico hurricane…

JEFF ZELENY: (outdoor noise) We’re hearing today for the first time comparisons to Katrina!

GERALDO RIVERA: (outdoor noise) …the kind of screwed up response that Katrina was.

REP. NYDIA VELAZQUEZ: (rotunda noise) …this is going to turn to be (sic) Mr. Trump’s Katrina.

KATE BOLDUAN: This could turn out to be Donald Trump’s Hurricane Katrina.

JOHN AVLON: Is Maria Donald Trump’s Katrina?

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Is this Katrina?

EUGENE ROBINSON: It could turn into Katrina!

REP. ADRIANO ESPAILLAT: …our modern day Katrina.

SHERMICHAEL SINGLETON: …the Katrina moment for Donald Trump.

ERIN BURNETT: Is this his Katrina?

REP. LUIS GUTIERREZ: Think of Katrina!

RUSH: Now, that was 2017, September 25, 26, 27. By the way, Katrina was manufactured. George Bush’s Katrina was a totally manufactured crisis. That crisis was the incompetence of Mayor Ray Nagin and Kathleen what’s her name, the governor down there, with all the buses that were flooded. They could have been used to get people out of there. Local incompetence ended up being Bush’s Katrina, right? So that becomes a thing, to represent Republican incompetence and Republican lack of compassion. “Republicans don’t care about people!”

That’s what “Katrina” means.

Well, get this. Let’s go to last night and this morning, audio sound bite No. 1.

S.E. CUPP: Is this Trump’s Katrina?

LUIS ALVARADO: This is a self-inflicted Katrina!

NICOLLE WALLACE: …Hurricane Katrina and it’s tragic aftermath. There are clear parallels.

DAVID “RODHAM” GERGEN: We have a Katrina-like situation. … very similar to Katrina.

ANNIE KARNI: This [is] his Katrina moment… …when he literally had a Katrina moment…

SHANNON BREAM: … Katrina moment for Trump…

JOHN BERMAN: People call this Trump’s Katrina. The difference between Katrina and this is George W. Bush didn’t make it rain. The president made it rain.

RUSH: So Puerto Rico was Donald Trump’s Katrina, but after that… You get the drift here. Two things. One year ago was Trump’s Katrina. Now this illegal immigrant thing is Trump’s second Katrina. It’s just evidence of how this stuff is manufactured. Manufactured crises from beginning to end. Katrina? George W. Bush’s Katrina wasn’t even Bush’s Katrina! But it’s a thing now that equals Republican incompetence and lack of caring.
