RUSH: Redding, California, we’re gonna start with Robert. Great to have you. First up today on Open Line Friday. Hi.

CALLER: Good morning, Rush. Golf playing, cigar smoking dittos to the power of the national debt. Rush, you know, you’ve had a lot of callers lately that are complaining about this or that with regards to Trump. You know, yesterday it was this lady in New Jersey on the tax cut. I think a couple of days ago somebody was talking about his tone, you know.

RUSH: Yeah, you’re right, it was just yesterday, and both callers were female. I remember one was worried. She liked what he was doing but wished he’d stop tweeting about people. It’s not necessary to go after people, makes her nervous, she cringes. The other woman from New Jersey is ticked off that Trump’s tax cuts are eaten away by the fact she no longer can deduct her property and state taxes off her federal return, and she wants Trump to do something about it.

CALLER: Yeah. I don’t know. I know I shouldn’t get too upset about it. I know you get a lot of, you know, seminar callers for lack of a better word. A lot of people that aren’t real conservatives and real pro-Trumpers probably call up and say they are. The fact of the matter is, you know, it took us a long time to get this messed up in this country and it’s gonna take a while to get it straightened out. I mean, people need to step up and give Trump all the support they can if they really want the swamp drained, if they really want this country to turn around and get back on where we should be —

RUSH: You know, I’m glad that you were first today. You’re very, very shrewd out there. I myself have made the point that this is what pushing back against an entrenched group of elites looks like. They’re not just gonna roll over. I have tried every which way I can think of to describe what the Washington establishment is. Not just the way it’s structured, but the mind-set of people in it.

I don’t think I’ve quite gotten there. I know many of you know what I’m referring to, but I still don’t think I’ve actually hit the home run in describing who these people are and how they think. They believe they are the best. They believe they’re the smartest.

They believe everybody else is a liability to the country. You and everybody else not in their club are to be kept out of anything important because you’re a bunch of rubes. You just don’t know anything. You’re ill-educated. You didn’t go to the right schools. You don’t have the right family connections. You’re just average, ordinary human debris.

They are special. They know it. They know that each other are special, and even though they are members of both parties, they still have the thing in common that they are members of the Washington establishment. And that’s what binds them. They circle the wagons, and they come together to defend that whenever it’s under assault.

Republicans, Democrats will put aside whatever fake differences they have in the establishment and unify to make sure nobody who isn’t qualified gets in that club, and certainly nobody who gets elected president or some other powerful position is actually successful, if the objective is to trip these people of their power, of their glory, of their self-worth, of their identity.

They are members in what they think is the most important and exclusive club or organization, group of people that there is in the world. And membership in this club genuinely does require you to be elite in the ways they define it. And Trump is none of them. Trump has to be destroyed. They’re not gonna roll over. They’re not gonna let this happen.

What’s good for the country never factors in their thinking. That’s not what they are there to do. The establishment is not there to defend the country. It’s there to defend itself. And that’s why they join other elites around the world and become globalists.
