RUSH: On Sunday Nancy Pelosi, the Democrat Minority Leader in the House was on Meet the Depressed. She addressed the growing calls, including from Democrats, that John Conyers should face the music over allegations he sexually harassed a junior female aide. The case was resolved with a $30,000 payment from taxpayers. And it was kept hidden from taxpayers until a couple weeks ago.

Now Conyers has stepped down as ranking Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, but he’s still in Congress. He says the hush fund payment was not an admission of guilt. It was just a quick way to dispose of the situation.

Nancy Pelosi stood by the guy, sort of. In her typical convoluted style, she danced around the question of whether Conyers should immediately resign. She said, “We are strengthened by due process. Just because someone is accused – and was it one accusation? Is it two? I think there has to be – John Conyers is an icon in our country.” That’s what Pelosi told F. Chuck Todd.

So, there it is.

John Conyers is “an icon” to Democrats. And Democrat icons – like Chris Dodd, Ted Kennedy, Bill Clinton – can do whatever they want to do to women – while Democrat women like Nancy Pelosi will always come to their defense and say, “Can I be next?”

If only Democrat pervert Anthony Weiner had focused his energy on becoming an “icon,” instead of a photo, he’d be in Congress right now, instead of in prison.
