RUSH: I have to tell you, Trump is rocking this Asia trip. And you know why? I’ll tell you, it’s nothing complicated.

Trump is emblematic of a strong America. Trump is emblematic of an America that wants to and is happy to lead, that is proud to lead and is more than willing to accept the responsibility of leading the free world. And Donald Trump makes no excuses for it. He makes no excuses for our strength. He makes no excuses of the value of being allied with us.

His foreign trip to the Middle East was likewise just a home run, and because of that it wasn’t talked about much. And this one is not being characterized in the proper way because the Drive-Bys don’t want it to be. So all the Drive-Bys can do is focus on Trump supposedly screwing up by overfeeding some fish, when all he was doing was mimicking what the Japanese leader did. In other words, much ado about nothing.

But I’m telling you, the world appreciates a strong America. The world wants a strong America. The world does not want a wuss, politically correct America. Our enemies do, but our allies and free people all over the world do not. And it’s exactly what was needed. The world needs a strong leader, and the world needs a strong America. And to the observers around the world, it is obvious we have both.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Here is Carl in Chapman, Kansas. Great to have you, Carl. How are you doing?

CALLER: I’m doing well. Thanks for taking my call.

RUSH: You bet.

CALLER: I had a question, and, I confess, I hung on for a chance at that phone you were giving away, but here’s my question. Do you think President Trump’s shoot-from-the-lips style might work against Republicans in the midterms?

RUSH: Let me ask you how you think it could.

CALLER: Well, sometimes he sounds uninformed, like with the Japanese car production statement that he made. Sometimes he sounds vindictive —

RUSH: Now, wait a minute. I’m glad you mentioned that. I’m glad I asked that. He did not sound uninformed about Japanese car production. They left out fully one half of what he said. They made it look like Trump doesn’t know that the Japanese manufacture cars in America. He does know it and he said so. He was then discussing something else related to it, and the Drive-Bys cut all of that out to make it look like Trump doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I don’t think Trump needs to change a thing, because the people telling him he needs to change are his enemies. I think he should ignore them and just keep being who he is. It’s working so far.
