Rush 24/7 Morning Update: Legacy
RUSH: After seven years of Obamacare, liberals hate the results.
RUSH: After seven years of Obamacare, liberals hate the results.
RUSH: For seven years the Republicans pass bills to repeal Obamacare, send 'em to Obama, who vetoes 'em. Every campaign year they promised to do it for real if they're given the House, then given the Senate, then given the White House. They're given all three and now can't repeal Obamacare, won't repeal Obamacare. What's the point of voting Republican? Do these people know what is going to become of their party if this actually happens?
RUSH: If you want to cover people that have preexisting conditions and insurance companies won't give them coverage, find a way to pay for it with a different program that's not called insurance, because it isn't. We do this all the time. We are a compassionate people, and we treat and try to care for everyone. The homeless, the hungry, the thirsty, hell, folks, we even provide education and health care for illegal aliens, for crying out loud.
RUSH: Obama's the smartest president ever, and Obama, we love Obama. And yet it's a mess, and Trump promised to fix it. All of this 'cause Trump said he's gonna let it fail. Trump said he's gonna let it fail. Steny Hoyer runs to the nearest camera, "He promised to fix it. He promised the American people he was gonna lower costs."
RUSH: Every three or four generations you get a shift away from whatever destruction is taking place, that eventually a generation’s gonna be born that is going to reject the way its parents and grandparents lived. And Generation Z could be that generation. The Millennials are not. The Millennials are signing on to it hook, line, and sinker.
RUSH: That's his negotiating position. Okay. If we can't vote to repeal this thing, I'm standing by and I'm letting it die. I'm letting it implode. I'm gonna let it fail, and it's on the Democrats… And I'm here to tell, the results of Obamacare imploding are far worse than Obamacare being repealed.
RUSH: The president needs to realize that his base is still with him. They are with him as much as they ever have been. In fact, it's actions like this in the House and Senate that make them even angrier, because it doesn't make common sense.
RUSH: The whole town is built around the existence of this establishment. Harvard and Yale are feeder colleges to educate future members of this establishment. Law schools and journalism schools ditto. The idea of an outsider — particularly one that the elite considers a pig — coming in here and winning and overturning it? There is just no way, folks. They're sure not gonna permit it.
RUSH: No longer is this just gonna be a long list of stories that I might mention on the program. Now, you will get specifically the stories that I talk about on the program and a select list of a few others that I intended to get to but ran out of time. It’s going to be more of a real-time base feature rather than just a generic list of places that I go to prep the show.
