RUSH: Republican policy ideas are always portrayed in the media as illegitimate, and maybe even criminal. This shooting is the direct result of hate, and that hate comes from the left.
RUSH: Here's another interesting set of polling numbers from Rasmussen Reports: "66% of Republicans say that Comey should be prosecuted for leaking to the media." Do you think that anybody in the Democrat Party or in the Drive-By Media ever even thinks that Comey is on the wrong side of anything? There is no way! There was a story yesterday: "Comey Has Become a Beltway Sex Symbol."
RUSH: I think it's probably true that Trump voters are enraged and angry about what they see and are not now thinking of abandoning Trump. It's not the thing. However, there remains the very real thing. I mean, you expect Trump to do things. I mean, you didn't elect him to go there just to have the media and establishment illustrate who they are. You elected Trump because you thought what Trump was gonna do needed to be done.
RUSH: Nobody that ran into this nutcase thought he was a nutcase. This is what's dangerous about it. Nobody thought he was anything other than your average, ordinary, run-of-the-mill radical leftist, which means mainstream Democrat. Read the guy's Facebook page. Read his letters to the editor. He sounds just like any one of countless panel members on discussion panels on CNN. He could sit in for Gergen one night and they wouldn't miss a beat. He could host Rachel Maddow's show, and the show wouldn't miss a beat content-wise.
RUSH: They had to cancel a study because of unprecedented ice brought to you by climate change.
RUSH: Very seldom are there actual libel suits by public figures because of that high threshold. She may have a case because this is so over the top and out of bounds. This kind of stuff, folks, is poison. The New York Times has poisoned what I think is already a sick readership. I think they are turning their readership mad.
RUSH: I'm holding in my formerly nicotine-stained fingers an advanced copy of a column that will be published later today at National Review Online written by Andrew McCarthy of the McCarthy brothers of New Jersey. … "Can You Obstruct a Fraud? — On March 30, 2017, by his own account, then-FBI director James Comey told President Donald Trump that Trump himself was not under investigation — the third time he had given him that assurance."
RUSH: No longer is this just gonna be a long list of stories that I might mention on the program. Now, you will get specifically the stories that I talk about on the program and a select list of a few others that I intended to get to but ran out of time. It's going to be more of a real-time base feature rather than just a generic list of places that I go to prep the show.
Media Desperately Tries to Shift Away from Leftist Shooter and onto Flimsy Trump Obstruction Narrative
RUSH: This guy was a mainstream leftist. If you go to his Facebook page like I said yesterday, you go to his Facebook page, it reads exactly like the way a CNN panel discussion on Trump sounds. Everywhere you go and read what this guy has written, letters to the editor, Facebook posts, he sounds just like anybody you would hear on the media. He sounds like Rachel Maddow. He sounds like Jake Tapper. He sounds like F. Chuck Todd. Just as normal a leftist as you can be.
