The Grandmother of an International Rush Revere Fan

by Rush Limbaugh - Dec 13,2016

RUSH: Here is Carol in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  Great to have you on the EIB Network.  Hi.

CALLER:  How are you?

RUSH:  I’m great.  Thank you.

CALLER: Uh, I’m calling to make two comments on your Rush Revere book series.

RUSH:  Oh, yes, ma’am.  Thank you.

CALLER:  The first one is to thank you for writing the series.  I’m the grandmother of a child who has dual citizenship.  Her father is from Great Britain; her mother is an American.  This child attends a British international school, and your books give us the chance to tell our side of the story, and for that I’m thrilled.

RUSH:  Oh, thank goodness.  Where does your granddaughter actually attend school?

CALLER:  Hong Kong.

RUSH:  Hong Kong.  It’s a British international school in Hong Kong?

CALLER:  That’s right.

RUSH:  And am I correct in assuming that the American founding is not high up on the curriculum there?

CALLER:  (bursts out laughing) Ha-ha! You’re correct.

RUSH:  Yeah.

CALLER:  Yes.  You’re correct.  But even though — and we have a friendly rivalry with the other grandparents.

RUSH:  Right.  Well, they’re Brits.  The people that we beat.  Yeah.

CALLER:  Right.  We have a lot in common.

RUSH:  Right.

CALLER:  Well, my husband, bless his heart, at the wedding reception many years ago in Hong Kong made a toast to Yorktown, which didn’t go over too big.

RUSH:  Yeah, I bet.

CALLER:  And my son-in-law refers to us as “the colonies,” so we do have this tit-for-tat.

RUSH:  So how do my books help?  Are they taking them to school?

CALLER:  No, no.  I just ordered book one.  This child is seven so she’s learning to read and I look through the list to see which are the appropriate grade level.

RUSH:  That would be a good starter.  That’s a great one to start with.

CALLER:  Well, my second comment is your five star reviews on these books number in the thousands, like six thousand.

RUSH:  You mean on Amazon.  Isn’t that incredible?

CALLER:  Yes.  Well, I’m a former schoolteacher who taught civics, ninth grade, and when I read reviews — and I’m gonna read the book before I send it on — but what I thought after I saw all those reviews is that, because you have so many readers, I don’t know the legalities of doing something like creating an internet link so that kids who have read these books in various cities can meet one another like a book club and —

RUSH:  Well, we don’t quite have that, but there is a Facebook Rush Revere page where they can all go, because what happens is that people, kids who read the books send pictures of themselves opening the boxes, dressing up —

CALLER:  Okay.

RUSH:  — as the characters in the book. The families send videos and pictures of their kids acting out various —

CALLER:  Well, that’s a great, yeah.

RUSH:  So it’s Facebook.com/RushRevere.  And anybody can go there.  Now, actual linkage one to another —

CALLER:  Meeting.  Yeah.

RUSH:  You can do it on Facebook.

CALLER:  Well, I’m an old school, I’m an old person, so I like that face-to-face —

RUSH:  Right.

CALLER:  — because it creates conversation.

RUSH:  Well, we’re doing that with a bunch of homeschool people, too.  But I’m glad you brought up the reviews.  Reviews are off the charts.  On Amazon the four- and five star reviews, it’s incredible.  I’m glad you reminded me.  I never talk about that and I should because that’s actual feedback from readers. And some of the reviews on Amazon, the people that take time to write, are just out of this world.  It’s extremely, extremely flattering, and I’m really glad you mentioned that.  Look, I’m really pressed on time here, Carol, but every caller gets a new iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus if you would like one.  Would you like one?

CALLER:  Oh, absolutely.

RUSH:  Yeah.  Let me guess you want a black iPhone 7 Plus?

CALLER:  It’s for my husband.

RUSH:  Well, he can take it, whatever color you want, whatever.

CALLER:  A black matte.

RUSH:  The matte.  A 7 or 7 Plus?

CALLER:  7 Plus.

RUSH:  And what’s his carrier?

CALLER:  Verizon.

RUSH:  Verizon.  Got you covered.
