RUSH: Are any of you out there worried that it means something bad that Trump has decided not to prosecute Hillary?  I’m just asking, because I’m hearing from people who are. They’re livid at Hillary, they’re still mad, and they believed that draining the swamp meant that maybe they weren’t just gonna go specifically with Hillary but that Trump was gonna investigate the whole kebang up there and figure out what had gone wrong and get rid of all the deadweight at every agency — EPA, DOJ, what have you.

Some people really expected he could do that, would do that.  They’re not expecting him to target Hillary, just to clean out the swamp.  And they look at him not prosecuting Hillary as maybe, uh-oh.  I will reserve my answer to the question, of course, until I hear from some of you if you want to tackle it.  Because once I have something to say on something like that, then there’s nothing left to say about it, and I don’t want to prematurely abort discussion on this question. (interruption) Mr. Snerdley says, “Nah, it’s no big deal.”

Now, you’re saying that because you have roots to traditional politics, and basically there’s a rule that says, “You don’t bury your vanquished opponent.  It’s enough that they lost.  You look forward.  You don’t go punitive.  It’s very small-minded to do that.  There’s campaign rhetoric, and then there’s stuff that you actually do,” and you’re thinking, Snerdley, “He was never gonna prosecute her, just like they didn’t prosecute Nixon.  If anybody was ever gonna prosecute anybody, it would be the Democrats prosecuting Nixon.”

Ford pardoned him to save everybody that, and the Democrats were ticked about it.  But I mean there are a lot of people — maybe a lot, I know how many — who really thought that when Trump said, “You ought to be in jail,” that they agreed with that and thought that she should be.  So we’ll see what people have to say about it, provided any of you react to it.  Maybe many of you are; it just depends whether or not you can get through here, which remains the top challenge for any caller.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Next up is Reuben in Los Lunas, New Mexico.  Hey, Reuben, how you doing, sir?

CALLER:  Mega dittos, Rush, and I’m doing really great since the election, thank you.

RUSH:  A lot of people have, and it’s joyous.  I’m great to hear you’re one of them.

CALLER:  Yes, sir.  You know, I did my best.  I worked really hard to get Mr. Trump the elected, starting in the primaries, and I’m glad that we were actually successful.  They told me to get to the point, sir.  My answer to your question, I think that Mr. Trump is still gonna go after Hillary, personally.

RUSH:  Oh, you do?

CALLER:  Oh, yes.  I think that he is correctly identified the mainstream news media as the enemy.  And as you stated before when he was talking about ISIS, why would he give them the game plan?  You know, so I think it’s just misinformation.

RUSH:  Yeah.  So you’re saying if he’s gonna indict Hillary, why say so and let everybody get prepared for it. So do a head fake, “Nah-nah-nah, we’re not gonna prosecute Hillary,” so you get all the Hillary camp relaxing, and then you spring the investigation on ’em?  That’s what you think’s gonna happen?

CALLER:  That’s exactly what I think.  You know, Mr. Trump didn’t get where he is by being a dummy.

RUSH:  Well, that’s true.  Okay, let me ask you a follow-up question there, Reuben.  What if he doesn’t?  Are you gonna be mad?  Are you gonna be let down?  Are you gonna think, uh-oh, I was convinced he was gonna do this. He had me convinced he was gonna prosecute her or investigate her.  Now he’s not.  Are you gonna be worried if he doesn’t do it?

CALLER:  I will be disappointed, but I am not gonna be mad.  There’s far more important stuff that needs to be taken care of.

RUSH:  I know.

CALLER:  Illegal immigration has got to go, but if anybody deserves to be in jail, Rush, you know, it’s Hillary.

RUSH:  A lot of people think that.  I don’t know how many there are.  But the reason I’m even asking this is that I got an email from somebody who’s mad, and from the sound of it it’s enough to make this person abandon Trump.

CALLER:  I don’t think I’m gonna be in that camp.

RUSH:  Okay.  That’s good to hear.  That’s good to hear.  I think you’re probably representative of most people, but I’m just curious to know how many — like, I’ll be honest with you, Reuben, I never expected Trump to actually prosecute her.  And the reason is, like Mr. Snerdley, I’m falling back on what some of the standard protocols for politics are after victory. We in America do not prosecute defeated political enemies.

Now, Hillary’s more than that, she’s an actual — she could be a crime boss.  I understand that, I understand that.  But I never expected it to happen, and it had nothing to do with why I supported Trump, the fact that he was going to.  If he did it, it was gonna be icing on the cake for me, but I never expected him to do it.

CALLER:  I agree with you on that as far as supporting Trump.  However, I do hope and pray that she is somehow prosecuted and put in jail, ’cause I’m telling you, as far as I’m concerned, she’s an evil, evil, evil woman that needs to be jailed.

RUSH:  What about her husband?  I mean, is he guilty of the same, do you think?

CALLER:  I think he’s already in jail. When I take a look at Mr. Clinton, there, he looks horrible.  He looks like death warmed over to me.

RUSH:  You mean you think he’s in jail ’cause of who he’s married to?

CALLER:  Who he’s married to and I think there’s some stuff going on and I honestly think he’s on his last leg.  I think he’s dying.

RUSH:  Oh.  Oh.  I see.

CALLER:  Yeah.

RUSH:  Physical appearance.  Okay.

CALLER:  He looks horrible.

RUSH:  Well, yeah.  I… You may be right; I don’t know.  But I appreciate your answering the question on Hillary.  Look, before you go, would you like a new iPhone or iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7 or 7 Plus?

CALLER:  I absolutely would. Yes, sir.

RUSH:  All right, now, who is your carrier?

CALLER:  Verizon.

RUSH:  Ha-ha-ha.  I swear, this is uncanny.  I must have 25 AT&T iPhones, maybe more than that. I’ve got plenty of Verizons.  I just don’t have them in the small size.  So you gotta take a Plus. It’s gotta be a Plus.

CALLER:  Yes, sir.  And I hope it’s a black one, ’cause I’m a Raider fan.

RUSH:  Here’s the thing: You want jet black or the matte black?  The jet black is the new shiny black that you can’t even get yet.  Two months after it’s been —

CALLER:  Yeah, that’s the one.

RUSH:  I have some if you’d like one.

CALLER:  I would.  That’s the one I want.

RUSH:  All right.  It’s yours.  Now, it’s gonna come without a SIM card.  It’s unlocked.  It’ll work with Verizon or any other cell carrier.  You could put any SIM card in this phone you want and it’ll work.

CALLER:  Excellent.

RUSH:  Since you’re Verizon, you’re all set to go. Just put your SIM card in it. What kind of phone do you have now?

CALLER:  Oh, I have an iPhone, I believe.

RUSH: What number? What model?

CALLER:  Oh, I’m not sure.

RUSH:  Well, if it’s an iPhone 5 or 6, the SIM card that’s in it now will work in this one.

CALLER:  Okay, let me see here. Ummm… It’s a 5.

RUSH:  It’s a 5.  Fine. The SIM card will work.  If it’s an iPhone 4 or 4S, it won’t work. The SIM card will not fit. But, anyway, hang on so we get your address and get this thing to you tomorrow.  That’s Reuben in New Mexico,

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH:  By the way, a little history here.  You know, there were all kinds of calls when George Bush left office in 2009 for the left to investigate him.  Obama and Eric Holder were under pressure to investigate and prosecute Bush. I bet most people don’t remember this, but it wasn’t until June 30th, 2011, that Eric Holder announced that of the more than 100 cases the Justice Department had reviewed, that there would be no charges brought in any of them, except…

Well, there were two. They weren’t dropped until August 30th of 2012. Four years that the Obama Justice Department… There were 100 ostensible cases, allegations. No weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, allegations of torture, all this garbage that left was putting out, and the Obama Justice Department took four years considering those cases. And after four years is when they announced that no charges would be pursued and no prosecutions would be pursued.  So Trump’s got time, is the point, folks.

However, there’s something you gotta realize about this.  We live in a country where power changes hands cyclically, because everybody in power screws up at some point, or the voters get fickle and just want a change.  If Hillary Clinton were prosecuted and if… Well, let’s just leave it at that. If she were prosecuted, there is not a Republican safe from liberal Democrat harassment and prosecution on there on after.

If she were prosecuted and convicted? (snorts) You want to think if they put her in jail? You can imagine the Democrat reciprocity on this.  Now, some of you are saying, “That’s not a reason not to do it.  We can’t predict the future. That’s not a reason.  We’re tired of the powerful getting away with it!”  I understand it.  I am, too.  Frankly, I’m tired of the powerful getting away with all kinds of stuff.  Hillary didn’t win — and, folks, there are ways without an actual prosecution.

There are ways for what has been going on at that foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative, there are ways that that can be exposed and embarrass and humiliate and all that.  Do you know they’ve already seen a drop of 37% in donations?  Now, if it’s a charity, why a 37% drop?  There’s a 37% drop because the donors figured out the Clintons can’t do anything for ’em anymore.  That’s not pretty.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH:  Let me tell you what’s really delicious about this Trump announcement they’re not gonna prosecute.  They’re also saying something else.  They’re saying, “No, we’re gonna help her heal.” Ha-ha-ha!  Folks, that… I guarantee you she is smoking in humiliation over the idea that she needs to heal and that Trump’s the guy to do it.  That was great.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH:  Now, let’s not forget something on this prosecuting Hillary business.  It’s not just Trump supporters.  Bernie Sanders supporters are gonna be among those who are not happy to hear this.  Trump just said that he thinks his supporters will be okay and understanding with his decision not to prosecute the Clintons.  He says that he doesn’t want to hurt the Clintons.  He’s now saying he might not pursue prosecuting Hillary ’cause he doesn’t want to hurt the Clintons.

It’s the same thing he said a few months ago when he refrained from bringing up Bill’s affairs and all the women. Even though Hillary was blasting him for being a sexist and so forth, Trump refrained from bringing up Bill.  But, anyway, the Obama administration took four years to say they weren’t gonna do anything on George W. Bush.  There were all kinds of people that wanted to prosecute him over the torture, quote, unquote, at Guantanamo Bay.

And there are a lot of Trump people, I mean, Trump, I remember hearing it, some of these rallies that he had talking about a special prosecutor, and his audience was responding wildly positively to it.  So we’ll see.  Look, I do not think that Trump supporters are going to abandon him over this, and I don’t think he’s gonna lose any of them over this, but I do know a couple people are gonna be livid that it’s not gonna happen.

Folks, I’m telling you, there’s a lot of anger on our side.  We’ve been lied about, we have been lied to, we’ve been mischaracterized, Hillary calling people deplorables and this kind of thing.  Some people are really livid out there about this, and the Clintons — (interruption) What?  Oh, now Trump not taking Clinton probe off the table.  Is that what you wanted me to see?  ‘Cause I was seeing the picture with Trump arriving at the New York Times building.  That’s interesting, too.

This is fascinating to me.  There was a meeting of well-known media Max Headroom types at Trump Tower yesterday. All these big headed anchors and infobabes showed up for a meeting, a bunch of Max Headrooms with Trump. And the first report was — and it was in the New York Post — and Kellyanne Conway wants everybody know that story is not true. And that story was that Trump just took ’em to the woodshed. He just gave ’em what-for. He called ’em out. He told them they were engaging in falsehoods and untruths and mistreating him. And everybody, “Yeah, right on.”

Then Kellyanne Conway comes out and says it didn’t happen that way, that it was mostly cordial.  And then the final report on it was a combination of the two.  But as part of the report, the New York Times, of course, bigger than all the Max Headrooms, was gonna have its own meeting.  The New York Times was gonna have its own exclusive meeting, that Little Pinch Sulzberger and some of the editors were gonna meet Trump all by themselves, and then that meeting got canceled because the New York Times, according to Trump, had assured Trump that the first part of the meeting would be off-the-record and then they would go on-the-record. And Trump said the New York Times changed the terms of the deal and said they don’t do off-the-record, that all of it was gonna be on-the-record.

So the Trump people put out, okay, well then we’re not meeting with the New York Times, screw them.  Then that changed.  And now they are meeting with the New York Times, and Trump’s going over to their headquarters to do it.  I don’t know how it ended up with off-the-record, on-the-record, if portions of it is off-the-record or not.  What’s happening now is that a lot of the networks are going back to Trump rallies and finding sound bites of Trump promising to prosecute and his rally crowds shouting, “Lock her up, lock her up.”

So the media is trying to portray that Trump supporters are on the verge of abandoning him right now by highlighting how many of them wanted Hillary locked up, prosecuted, convicted, and all that.  And so the latest news is that Trump is going to look into the notion of prosecuting Hillary.  CNN has a graphic up there right now, “Trump:  Some human activity linked to climate change.”

“Some human activity linked to climate change.”  That bothers me much more than whether or not we’re gonna be prosecuting Hillary.  But again, I’m looking at CNN and I don’t trust any of these people, and this is just a graphic, it’s just a chyron up there, and I don’t know — you know, give me time to look into this and study, ’cause I don’t believe anything these people say right off the bat, especially CNN, New York Times, NBC, CBS, ABC, MSNBC.

I’ve made it a point here that I’m not going to knee-jerk react to anything, and especially before Trump is inaugurated.  Just wait and see this stuff play out as it does.  But if, for example, why would he say some human activity linked to climate change when he has gone on record as saying that he doesn’t believe it and we’re gonna get people out of the EPA who do and we’re gonna stop playing games with this.  Why would he say it?

And the answer to that question, well, he wants to build a bridge with the opposition.  He wants to throw ’em a bone here or there ’cause he really does want some unity.  That’s the conventional wisdom.  That’s inside-the-Beltway thinking modes, and I don’t want any part of that.  This is why, folks — I’m not gonna say anything more.  I’m not gonna jump the gun.  I don’t even know if it’s true.  This is why you don’t see me at Trump Tower going up and down the elevators.

You know, long ago I decided that this program has nothing to do, the success of the program depends nothing at all on who wins or loses elections.  “Are you abandoning Trump?”  No, no, no, no, don’t misunderstand, I’m just explaining.  I should have told you.  I get emails constantly from people asking me when am I going to Trump Tower.  I’m not going to Trump Tower.  (laughing)  I’ve been to Mar-a-Lago.  I’m not going to Trump Tower.  (interruption)  Is he coming in tomorrow?  Oh, no.  Are you kidding? (interruption)  Yes, it does.  Not if they close the airport.

Well, wait a minute, where did you see that? I’ve just been told there’s a new airport restriction, that if you fly VFR under 3,000 feet, you can’t take off. But if you fly over 5,000 feet the airport’s open and you can leave?  No. If you fly over 3,000 you can get out?  Okay.  Are you sure that’s the airport and not the traffic pattern over Mar-a-Lago, it’s the whole airport?  Oh, it’s the local TV? Well, then we still don’t know anything, if you’re getting it from local TV news. Well, I know the airspace is gonna be restricted over Mar-a-Lago, yes, but normally what happens is, I told you the story, when Air Force One is at an airport on the ground that airport is closed, and that they’re gonna have to change.

They can’t shut down this airport if he’s here for four days. (interruption) Yeah.  Okay.  Well, I wasn’t allowed to leave Houston when Air Force One was on the ground.  I was there for Poppy Bush’s 80th birthday, and I couldn’t leave until George W. Bush left.  I wanted to get out of there early so I left the party two hours early.  I’d seen everybody I wanted to see.  And I went back, thinking I’m gonna be jetting home, beating everybody out of there, and I got back, and they said we’re grounded ’til Air Force One leaves.

I said, “What?”

“Yeah, airport’s closed until Bush leaves.”  And that turned out to be two-and-a-half hours.  So I looked it up, sure enough, commercial airports, Air Force One’s there, it’s closed while Air Force One’s on the ground.  Now, maybe I was not properly informed, maybe it’s a period of time when the president is expected to depart that the airport’s closed and all that, ’cause truly they can’t — (interruption) no, but he’s the president-elect, and it’d be the same thing.

He’s not using Air Force One, but it would have to be the same effect.  He parks his plane right next door to mine.  Have you seen the two of them parked side by side, just one FBO apart.  (interruption) Yeah.  I’m getting out of here on Thanksgiving.  Hey, wait a minute, you know, this might be a great excuse not to have to leave.  “Sorry, sorry, I can’t get out. They’ve grounded everybody here.  Trump’s here, and we can’t leave.”

“Well, can’t you reposition the airplane?”  No, the airplane can’t leave even if there’s nobody on it.  “I’m sorry, I’m stuck here.”  Even if I wanted to use that I can’t use it now since I’ve given it away.  (interruption)  I’ll play. If he calls and wants to play golf, I’ll play.  Hell, yes.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Now, the left is all atwitter here, folks, because of the reports coming out of the Trump-New York Times meeting where he ostensibly did say that he’s open to the possibility that humans have something to do with climate change.  The left is just all excited.  That’s such a big issue to them.

It’s why I harp on it so much.  And they think they’ve detected Trump waffling on it now.  CNN’s reporting it, CBS is reporting it, and Trump hasn’t waffled yet.  I wouldn’t go off yet on what Trump tells an editorial meeting here.  Wait to see what he does, is the key here, folks.  It really is.
