RUSH: Look, Trump just began a rally, he’s at West Palm Beach right across the bridge here and nobody knows what he’s gonna say.

But the Drive-Bys are alluding to the fact that he’s gonna fire both barrels at the New York Times for reporting that he was an octopus on board a plane.  By the way, can I ask a question? I can’t answer this.  I need to ask those of you who fly first class and have been flying first class for 25 or 30 years. This woman who said that Trump octopused her, said that it happened after dinner, in first class, and that he raised the divider, the armrest between the two seats.  Now, my memory of first class is you can’t raise those dividers.

You can do that in coach.  The armrests in coach you can raise, but in first class… But I don’t know.  It’s been a while.  Well, I don’t know.  The most crowded first class I ever remember being on was an American Airlines Boeing 767, and I was coming back New York from San Francisco, and it was the late eighties and Charlie Rose and Willie Mays were up in first class in the same plane. It really was business class; they called it first class. But the seats were very small.

I don’t remember if the armrests you could lift out of the way.  I’ve not seen a first-class seat where the armrest you can raise it and get it out of the way.  That’s why I’m asking if any of you have, ’cause I haven’t.  But I haven’t been on a modern airplane in first class.  I know in a modern airplane you can’t.  Thirty years ago is the question.  And that would have been Boeing 727, maybe Boeing 757, maybe 747.  Don’t know.  Let’s JIP a little bit of Trump here.  Our microphones are across the bridge in West Palm Beach.  Let’s just see what’s happening here.  We’ll give a little listen to this —

TRUMP:  — barely above 1% and going down.

CROWD (grumbling)

TRUMP: Workers in the United States are making less than they were almost 20 years ago, and yet they are working harder.  But so am I working harder.

CROWD (cheers)

TRUMP: That I can tell you. That’s so.

CROWD (cheers)

TRUMP: It’s a global power structure that is responsible for the economic decisions that have robbed our working class, stripped our country of its wealth, and put that money into the pockets of a handful of large corporations and political entities.  Just look at what this corrupt establishment has done to our cities like Detroit; Flint, Michigan; and rural towns in Pennsylvania, Ohio, North Carolina, and all across our country.  Take a look at what’s going on.

RUSH:  I just want to —

TRUMP:  They’ve the scraped away these towns bare —

RUSH:  Take it down.  Folks, he’s gonna go on for an hour here.  We’re not gonna be able to carry the whole thing.  I just want you to know we’re just gonna get a flavor here for two or three minutes.  So pick it back up.

TRUMP:  — if I’m elected president.

CROWD (cheers)

RUSH:  Our microphones are everywhere.

TRUMP:  The Clinton machine is at the center of this power structure.  We’ve seen this firsthand in the WikiLeaks documents in which Hillary Clinton meets in secret with international banks to plot the destruction of U.S. sovereignty in order to enrich these global financial powers, her special interest friends, and their donors.

RUSH:  Exactly right!

CROWD: (booing)

RUSH:  Exactly right.  That’s exactly right.  He’s exactly right about that.

TRUMP:  So true.

CROWD: (chanting) Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up! Lock her up!

RUSH:  There’s a huge crowd at this thing, too, folks.

TRUMP:  Honestly, she should be locked up.

CROWD: (cheers)

TRUMP: Should be.

CROWD: (cheers)

TRUMP: Should be locked up.

CROWD: (cheers)

TRUMP: And, likewise, the emails show that the Clinton machine is so closely and irrevocably tied to the media organizations that she —

CROWD: (grumbling and boos)

TRUMP: — that she —

CROWD: (grumbling and boos)

TRUMP: Listen to this: She is given the questions and answers in advance of her debate performance with Bernie Sanders.

CROWD: (boos)

RUSH:  That’s true as well.

TRUMP:  Hillary Clinton is also given approval and veto power over quotes written about her in the New York Times.

CROWD: (boos)

RUSH:  That is true.  That’s from the WikiLeaks dump.  That’s true.

TRUMP:  They definitely don’t do that to me. That I can tell you.

RUSH:  Nor anybody else.

TRUMP:  And the emails show the reporters collaborate and conspire directly with the Clinton campaign on helping her win the election all over.

CROWD: (boos)

RUSH:  That is true.  That is all true as well.

TRUMP:  With their control over our government at stake, with trillions of dollars on the line, the Clinton machine is determined to achieve the destruction of our campaign. Not gonna happen.

CROWD: (cheers)

TRUMP: Which has now become a great, great movement, the likes of which our country has never seen before.  Never, ever.

CROWD: (cheers)

RUSH:  By the way, they were saying “lock her up,” not “locker room.”

TRUMP:  We’re never seen a movement like this in our country before.  Yesterday in Florida massive crowds, people lined up outside of big arenas, not able to get in.  Never happened before.  It’s one of the great phenomenon’s, one of the great political phenomenon’s.  The Moussaoui powerful weapon deployed by the Clintons is the corporate media, the press.

CROWD: (boos)

TRUMP:  Let’s be clear on one thing.

RUSH:  Okay.  What is it?

TRUMP:  The corporate media in our country is no longer involved in journalism.

RUSH:  Right!  Right on!

TRUMP:  They are political special interest no different than any lobbyist or other financial entity with a total political agenda, and the agenda is not for you; it’s for themselves.

RUSH:  Right on.  It’s about time.  I don’t feel so alone now.  I got a buddy.

TRUMP:  And their agenda is to elect Crooked Hillary Clinton at any cost, at any price, no matter how many lives they destroy.  For them it’s a war.  And for them, nothing at all is out of bounds.  This is a struggle for the survival of our nation.  Believe me.  And this will be our last chance to save it on November 8th.  Remember that.

CROWD: (cheers)

TRUMP:  This election will determine whether we’re a free nation or whether we have only the illusion of democracy but are in fact controlled by a small handful of global special interests rigging the system, and our system is rigged.  This is reality.  You know it, they know it, I know it, and pretty much the whole world knows it.  The establishment and their media enablers wield control over this nation through means that are very well known.  Anyone who challenges their control is deemed as sexist, a racist, a xenophobe, and morally deformed.

RUSH:  Yep.

TRUMP:  They will attack you.  They will slander you.  They will seek to destroy your career and your family.  They will seek to destroy everything about you, including your reputation.  They will lie, lie, lie, and then again they will do worse than that.  They will do whatever’s necessary.  The Clintons are criminals.  Remember that.  They’re criminals.

CROWD: Lock her up! Lock her up!

RUSH:  They’re saying “Lock her up,” not “locker room.” Well, there it is.  There it is.

TRUMP:  This is well documented, and the establishment that protects them has engaged in a massive cover-up of widespread criminal activity at the State Department, at the Clinton Foundation, in order to keep the Clintons in power.

RUSH:  Pretty much.

TRUMP:  Never in history have we seen such a cover-up as this, one that includes the total destruction of 33,000 emails, 13 iPhones, some by hammer, laptops, missing boxes of evidence, and many, many other things.

RUSH:  Trump is not supposed to be doing this.

TRUMP:  People who are capable of such crimes against our nation are capable of anything.  And so now we address the slander and libels that was just last night thrown at me by the Clinton machine and the New York Times and other media outlets as part of a concerted, coordinated, and vicious attack.  It’s not coincidence that these attacks come at the exact same moment and all together at the same time as WikiLeaks releases documents exposing the massive international corruption of the Clinton machine, including 2,000 more emails just this morning.  These vicious claims about me of inappropriate conduct with women are totally and absolutely false.

CROWD: (cheers)

TRUMP: And the Clintons know it, and they know it very well.  These claims are all fabricated.  They’re pure fiction, and they’re outright lies.  These events never, ever happened, and the people that said them meekly fully understand.  You take a look at these people, you study these people, and you’ll understand also.  The claims are preposterous, ludicrous, and defy truth, common sense, and logic.  We already have substantial evidence to dispute these lies.  And it will be made public in an appropriate way and at an appropriate time very soon.

CROWD: (cheers)

RUSH:  Okay.  That’s it.  I’ve gotta get out of here folks.  I just wanted, before we go to the commercial break, and we’ll keep monitoring this, we’ll keep rolling it and we’ll have sound bites as they unfold.  Trump, when I said he’s not supposed to be doing this, Trump’s supposed to be defeated, Trump is supposed to have gotten the warning. He’s supposed to have slinked away or begun to slink away. He’s not supposed to be fighting back this way, and it’s only going to ratchet things up as far as the left is concerned.  But this is all upbeat and positive from the standpoint of the supporters.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH:  Not enough time here to rejoin Mr. Trump.  You would just get mad when I had to take the next break, but let me repeat a story that he just told, because this will blow your mind.  Twelve years ago People magazine did a story about him and Melania, his wife, first year anniversary. She was pregnant and Trump said it was a great story, it was a lovely story, it was a beautiful story.

The story was written and the interview took place in a very public place with a lot of people around.  It was one of the best profile stories. He was big at the time, starring in The Apprentice, huge TV show with a huge audience, and it was taking off.  And the writer of that story, 12 years ago in People magazine, has come forward and has said that Trump made advances on her during that interview.

And he just said (paraphrasing), “Twelve years ago, read the story, it’s one of the most beautiful stories about us that’s ever been written.  Why didn’t she say it happened then?  The Apprentice was big, the readership for the story was going to be huge.  If it happened, why didn’t it appear in the original story?  Why is it only appearing now 27 days before the election, especially when it didn’t happen?”

The People magazine author of the story is claiming that during the interview, with Melania there, that Trump made advances on her.  And he is calling them horrible, horrible liars and part of the Clinton team, which everybody in media is, for the most part, other than of course conservative media.  A number of flight attendants, I must say, I have checked the email, a number of flight attendants say they have never seen in first class seat dividers that raise or armrests that raise.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH:  The Donald Trump rally continues across the bridge here in West Palm Beach.  It sounds like a massive, massive crowd, and they are jazzed, and they are fired up. And Trump, just after acknowledging the slander and the libel of the New York Times and People magazine, he just said that he is not going to permit them to derail his campaign.

His campaign is not going to be comprised of refuting all of this slander every day.  He’s gonna stick to issues and so forth and make sure that he can do everything he can to see to it that the country is rescued from the corrupt clutches of the Clintons.  And the crowd is going absolutely bonkers.

Now, I just want to review a few things here.  The media, remember, folks, uses polling data to make news, not reflect it, not at this stage.  The media is not the media. I’m so happy to hear Trump say this, that there’s no journalism happening today.  They’re not journalists; they’re party hacks.  They are political hacks.  And they are working to advance the Clinton agenda and to protect, to defend and protect the Clintons and the state, the government.

Anybody that comes around and opposes any of that, they’re gonna be destroyed, ridiculed, impugned, in any which number of ways.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: I had Cookie roll off some sound bites from the Trump appearance that just ended about 10 minutes ago.  He kept the this one under an hour.  The crowd was wired.  This is the story he told when we had to go to break at about 22 minutes after the hour.  This is the story about the People magazine writer.  This is 12 years ago, People magazine asked to do a profile of Trump and Melania on their one-year wedding anniversary, and they agreed to do it.  And so Trump is describing the story and everything about it.  And I had not heard this when I heard him tell the story, so I wanted you to hear it because we had covered it up in one of our breaks.

TRUMP:  The story was beautiful.  It was beautiful.  It was lovely.  But last night we hear that after 12 years — this took place 12 years ago, this story — a new claim that I made inappropriate advances during the interview to this writer.  And I ask a very simple question:  Why wasn’t it part of the story that appeared 12 years ago?  Why wasn’t it a part of the story?  Why didn’t they make it part of the story?  I was one of the biggest stars on television with The Apprentice and it would have been one of the biggest stories of the year.  Think of it, she’s doing a story on Melania, who’s pregnant at the time, and Donald Trump, our one-year anniversary, and she said I made inappropriate advances.

RUSH:  And then he described the setting that it took place.

TRUMP:  The area was a public area, people all over the place.  But it is amazing, doing the story, a love the story on how great we are together, and, by the way, we’re stronger today than we ever were before, which is —

CROWD: (cheers)

TRUMP:  It’s a love story.  It’s a love story on our one-year.

RUSH:  Right.

TRUMP:  And if I did that, she would have added that, it would have been the headline. And who would have done that if you’re doing this and you’re one of the top shows on television?  These people are horrible people.  They’re horrible, horrible liars.

RUSH:  All right.  Well, let’s just take this and let’s put it under the lights of examination.  So there’s Trump and Melania in a public setting, and the interview’s taking place with a puff piece story on Trump and Melania, their one-year anniversary, 12 years ago, and the reporterette doesn’t say anything for 12 years, last night says, “Oh, yeah, Trump made a move on me when I was writing that story.  Trump made inappropriate advances during the interview.” Not in a pre-interview, but during the interview when there were people around.

Can you see that happening and the reporter not writing about it?  Can you see that whole scenario?  So you got the People magazine babe writing the story.  Trump makes inappropriate advances during the interview, and it doesn’t end up part of the story?  And Melania would have been there to see all of it take place, as there would have been a lot of people around to see it take place.  So here’s the wrap up bite from Trump on all this.

TRUMP:  The corrupt political establishment is a machine.  It has no soul.  I knew these false attacks would come.  I knew this day would arise.  It was only a question of when.  And I knew the American people would rise above it and vote for the future they deserve.

CROWD: (cheers)

TRUMP: The only thing that could stop this corrupt machine is you.  The only force strong enough to save our country is us.

RUSH:  So he went to say that he’s not gonna spend a whole lot of time in the future answering all these various allegations that are made.  He’s gonna try to stay focused on the issues.  By the way, if you’re just joining us, I need to explain why I asked the question.  One of the women that the New York Times says Trump octopused on a plane, they were in a first class cabin in the airplane and Trump behaved like an octopus. So I just created here a new adjective, “he octopused her.” She said what happened was that after dinner Trump raised the armrest in first class. He raised the armrest and that’s when he made the octopus moves.

So as a person who hasn’t flown first class in, gosh, I don’t know, I fly coach or business. (laughing) Seriously, I don’t recall any first class seat having the armrest that you can move, like you can in coach. The armrest, you can get it out of the way. If you don’t have anybody sitting next to you, you can raise it and have a little more room in the seat. So I’ve had flight attendants that are emailing me here in droves saying they’ve never seen it, that first-class seats do not have dividers that you can raise.

Now, this took place 30 years ago. They weren’t flying the Super G Constellation, no, no. It would have to had been a Boeing 727 or newer, for it to be 30 years ago.  The only reason I bring it up is because the woman claims — it’s an integral part of the story — is that Trump raised the armrest and then made the octopus move.  (interruption) Well, I don’t know whether the flight attendants are looking on or not.

But remember Trump was not a big star then. The Apprentice was not on and People magazine wasn’t calling, and they weren’t doing any interviews.  So what you’re going to see now — in fact, I think we already are — the networks are gonna convene numerous roundtables of journalists to discuss Trump’s allegation that they are horrible — they love talking about themselves — and that the Clintons are a criminal enterprise.

Are you aware of any Republican ever characterizing the Clintons that way?  I’m not either.  That kind of stood out as well.
