RUSH: Our next caller is 7 years old, named Avery in Richmond, Virginia.  She is an avid reader of Rush Revere and Time-Travel Adventures with Exceptional Americans.  Hi, Avery.  How are you today?

CALLER:  I’m good.  How are you?

RUSH:  I’m so glad you called.  I really appreciate your patience in waiting for me to get to you, too.

CALLER:  Yeah.

RUSH:  “Yeah.”  (laughing) Well, what’s up?  Why did you call today?  To what do we owe this great pleasure?

CALLER:  Well, I just really like your books and I wanted to tell you that they were very good.

RUSH:  Well, thank you.  How many of them have you read?

CALLER:  I’ve read all of them, actually.

RUSH:  Naturally, yes, of course.  And do you have a favorite?

CALLER:  Yes.

RUSH:  Which one?

CALLER:  The most recent one you wrote I believe, Rush Revere and the Star-Spangled Banner.

RUSH:  That’s it! That’s the most recent one, Rush Revere and the Star-Spangled Banner.  That’s your favorite. That’s great.  That’s cool.

CALLER:  Yeah.  I really like your books.

RUSH:  Well, thank you very much.  I appreciate that.  I’m not gonna ask you why because that would be greedy.  I’m just gonna accept the fact that you like them.  And, you know what?  I assume you like Liberty?

CALLER:  Yes.  Yes, I do.

RUSH:  Okay.  Well, I want to send you a Liberty stuffed animal.  We made a bunch. They’re cute as they can be.  You will love this.  And that’s if your parents would not object.  I’d like to send you this.  A little package of goodies that we send out to people who get in touch with us and tell us how much that they like the books.  Would that be okay with them, do you think?

CALLER:  Yes.

RUSH:  Yeah, I’m sure, okay.  So, if you would, just don’t hang up here, and when we finish the call we’ll get your address and we’ll send the stuff out.  Hopefully we’ll get it out as soon as next week.  Do you have any brothers or sisters?

CALLER:  Yes, two older brothers.

RUSH:  How old are they?

CALLER:  Twelve and 17.

RUSH:  Twelve and 17.  Wow.  Okay.  Well, you live in Richmond, Virginia.  What grade are you gonna be in when school starts back up?

CALLER:  I’m gonna be in third grade.  Oh, and the 12-year-old really likes the books, too.

RUSH:  Twelve-year-old does, too, okay.  Has the 12-year-old read them all as well?

CALLER:  No, he — yes, actually.

RUSH:  Okay.  Now, do you each have your own copies, or do you have one copy that you’ve shared?

CALLER:  One copy that we share.

RUSH:  Oh, no, no, no, gotta fix that. We’ve gotta give you your own copies of each one.  And I’m gonna send you some audio CDs, audio versions that I, of course, narrate.  That way you can put the CDs in, if you get tired of reading now and then or want to experience them again, you can just listen to me read it. So we’ll put a bunch of stuff together for you, Avery, and I cannot thank you enough.  You’re just great.  I appreciate it.

CALLER:  Okay.  Well, thank you very much for having me here.  I learned a lot in your books, and it’s just very cool talking to you.

RUSH:  Well, thank you.  Avery, does your family have an iPad?

CALLER:  Yes.

RUSH:  Do you like it?

CALLER:  Well, it’s an old one, so it’s kind of glitchy.

RUSH:  Kind of glitchy.  Yeah, that’s bad when they get glitchy, that’s bad.  Okay.  Well, I’ll throw a couple of those in there, too, with this for you and your brother. The two of them to share ’em around and so forth.

CALLER:  Okay, thank you so much.

RUSH:  Do you draw?  Are you into artistry at all?

CALLER:  Yes.  Yes, I am.

RUSH:  All right.  Well, I’m gonna throw in a little Apple pencil that will allow you to make big-time, really good drawings on your iPad, too.

RUSH: That’s very nice of you.  Thank you.  That you so much.

RUSH:  You’re more than welcome.  I’m happy to do it.  Just don’t hang up.  Remember to hang on here, okay?

CALLER:  Okay.

RUSH:  Tell everybody in your family I said hello, Avery.

CALLER:  Okay.

RUSH:  All right.  Bye.

CALLER:  Bye.

RUSH:  Seven years old, folks.  Seven years old.
