Last week Paula Reid, a CBS News producer in Virginia, went to a local firearms dealer to purchase an AR-15 rifle.

I know, the Orlando shooter used a Sig Sauer MCX, not an AR-15. But that didn’t matter. Paula’s agenda was to confirm the liberal belief that it’s “too easy” to buy a weapon.

CBS reported the transaction at SpecDrive Tactical took 38 minutes. And CBS reported that after the purchase, the weapon was transferred to a federally licensed firearms dealer.

On the news segment, UCLA law professor Adam Winkler claimed that in most of the country “you could go into a gun store and buy an AR-15, just like you go into Starbucks and buy a cup of coffee.”

Well, if Starbucks took 38 minutes to serve coffee, they’d be out of business. But here’s what’s important. SpecDrive Tactical has filed an accusation with the ATF against the CBS producer.

At the time of purchase, she was asked if she was buying the weapon for herself. She answered “yes” it was for her own personal training. If she had said the weapon would be transferred to a third party, it wouldn’t have been sold to her. Because a “straw purchase” is a felony. Giving false information on the ATF form, as Reid did, is punishable by up to ten years in jail and a $250,000 fine.

So now we get chance to see if the Obama Regime is serious about enforcing gun laws already on the books — when the prep happens to be a Democrat, disguised as a journalist.
