RUSH: The Hillary Clinton e-mail. I got a note from a friend of mine last night reeking of frustration. I mean, I could smell the frustration in the guy’s e-mail. ‘Cause every day — and today is no different — we have story after story of all of the so-called undoubtedly classified e-mails she was just passing on. My friend used to be in the Navy. He used to have a security clearance sufficient to come in contact and see and deal with classified documents. He said, “Anybody in the world knows what’s classified by virtue of the contents. They don’t need to be marked.” He said, “When’s the indictment coming? When’s something gonna happen?”

“I mean, how long can this go on?” And my answer was, “She’s a Democrat, and nothing ever happened to Democrats. The Democrats don’t go after their own, and the Republicans stopped going after Democrats sometime in the 1990s.” Whether you want to call it just the system has been corrupted or taken over or what have you, I think if you want to get Hillary — if you hope Hillary is held accountable — then you better hope Biden gets in the race. ‘Cause if Biden gets in the race, then that might trigger action from Obama’s DOJ to stop this drip, drip, drip, drip, drip and lower the boom on her.

We’ll have to wait and see.

Time will tell, and it won’t be long.

RUSH: We go to Mrs. Clinton and the e-mail scandal. So many people continue to be frustrated. “When is something gonna happen? How can there be no indictment? The woman has obviously trafficked and classified documents.” One of the stories here from an unfazed Associated Press. “E-mails: Russia-Link Hackers Tried to Access Clinton’s Server.” You know how they did it? They tried to do it via a phishing attack, p-h-i-s-h-i-n-g.

“Russian-linked hackers tried at least five minutes to get into Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail account while she was secretary of state. This according to some e-mails that were released yesterday.” Now, it’s not known if she fell for the attacks. You know, a lot of people do. I’ll give you a good example of what a phishing attack is. Let’s say you have an Apple ID, and you buy things on the Apple Store. The hacker will put together what looks to be like an official e-mail from Apple. It won’t be, but to the casual observer, it will look like it’s from Apple.

And it will say that something has happened to their data file and they need to click on the link in the e-mail to confirm their identity so that everything remains okay. And when you click on that link, you are not sending anything to Apple; you are allowing the hackers access to your computer and potentially access to your data. Now, it depends on Mrs. Clinton’s sophistication in this stuff, whether she knows what a phishing attack is.

“The attempt that was made against Mrs. Clinton…” Are you ready for this? The hackers tried to convince Hillary that she had some speeding tickets outstanding and that she had to click on a link in the e-mail to make the problem go away. Here’s the details in the story from the AP. “Russia-linked hackers tried at least five times to pry into Hillary’s private e-mail account while she was secretary of state.” Now, the headline of this story now is, “E-mails: Russia-Linked Hackers Tried to Access Clinton’s Server.” AP is changing the headline here.

The earlier headline for this same story was: “Russian Hackers Tried Five Times to Break into Hillary’s E-mail Server,” and then they decided to dial that back a little bit. And the people over at Slate.com tried to spin the story for their readers (low-information Hillary voters). “Lazy Hackers,” starts the headline at Slate. “Lazy Hackers Tried to Hack Hillary Clinton’s Mail Using Poorly Crafted Speeding Ticket Gambit.” It was just a phishing attack. I suspect that there have been… Mrs. Clinton is not gonna fall for a speeding ticket scam. She doesn’t drive.

She’s not gonna fall for a speeding ticket trick. She’s not gonna fall for a parking ticket trick. They probably would fall for some kind of phishing attack. Some of them are very seductive, and if the hacker happens to touch on a subject that’s really important… Let’s say you have an American Express card and a hacker puts together a very, very authentic looking e-mail from American Express, and the e-mail tells you that they’re about to close your account because something is a mess and you haven’t responded.

And the last thing you want is for your Amex card to be canceled. So you click on that link and you have no idea what you’re doing. There’s a way to find out real quickly, folks, whether you’re a victim of a phishing attack or whether somebody’s trying it on you. Just go to the e-mail address from the sender and click on it and find out what the real sending e-mail address is. Another thing to do — like if you have multiple e-mail addresses, and your credit cards are mixed in terms of which e-mail address — is make sure the apparently authentic-looking e-mail is sent to the right account, the right e-mail address.

I mean, there’s any number of ways to find these things. You get to the point where eventually you believe none of it, because you quickly learn that nobody you do business with sends e-mails like this. They don’t tell you, “You need to click this link to save your account,” to save your data, or what have you. Or, “We can’t find you,” or, “We’re missing a crucial piece of information about you. Please click this link and solve the problem.” People fall for it left and right, though. It’s why they continue to happen.

And they tried this with Mrs. Clinton. Supposedly speeding tickets. And I don’t believe that, because anybody their right mind would know she doesn’t drive. She’s not gonna get moved by speeding tickets. But they could find something. I don’t know what it would be, but they could find something. What are the odds…? You know, Mrs. Clinton does not strike me as a sophisticated, high-tech gizmo person. She’s out there saying, “Well, you know, I didn’t know I could have more than one account and one device. I didn’t know.”

I don’t know whether that’s true or not, but I can just tell you: We tech wizards can spot neophytes. We tech wizards, we know when people aren’t tech wizards. Like, for example, in my case, the Apple Watch. Very few of my friends would I even recommend it to. They don’t care enough about the tech to take the time to learn it, and I don’t want to have to take the time to teach ’em. We wizards just know this stuff. And so when you look at Mrs. Clinton and you hear her talk about this, it’s clear as a bell she’s a neophyte.

She has people in the background that take care of all of this stuff. She’s one of the people she’ll get an iPhone and two or three people will set it up. She doesn’t care. She’s not interested in how it works. She doesn’t know about backing up or restoring, any of that. She doesn’t know how her pictures stay on the phone, where they go. She just wants the phone to work, so other people do this. But when she’s sitting down at her e-mail account and she’s looking at incoming e-mails, a phishing attack.

She’s the exact kind of person that the right phishing attack could work on. The bottom line is, I don’t think there’s any question she’s been hacked and I don’t think there’s any question it’s been happening. Major American enemies have been able to hack her system, and now all this classified data going back and forth that she says, “Well, it wasn’t marked! I didn’t know!” BS. She knew, and as the Clintons always do, they roll the dice on not getting caught. If you’re the Clintons and the Democrats, you roll the dice.

Even if you do get caught, you’re pretty confident nobody’s gonna do anything about it. It’s a whole different thing for Republicans. If there were a Republican former secretary of state when all this was swirling around, we’d already be talking jail time. We would have had an indictment long ago. There would have been an in-depth investigation over just what secrets were learned by which government, by which country. The person would have been humiliated and destroyed, no future remaining. Because every ounce of credibility and integrity would have been destroyed.

With Hillary we get this never-ending drip, drip, drip, drip. Every week, every day a new revelation, but no action taken whatsoever on the criminal side. No effort that’s public, anyway, to find out just what kind of compromises there have been in our national security because of what she did, because she’s a Democrat. She gets a pass. They just don’t throw themselves under the bus. They don’t indict each other unless… There’s always exceptions. Bob Menendez. Bob Menendez, what is he? He’s not an Iran deal guy, right? And they caught him doing some things with a donor down in the Dominican Republic.

So they indicted him, even though he’s a Democrat. Bob Torricelli. It happens, but it’s rare. The Democrats know that they are not going to be held accountable on things like this. They know the media is not gonna go after ’em; they know the Department of Justice. In fact, it’s not just that they know that nobody’s gonna go after them, they also know the circle is gonna be built around them. The wagons are gonna be circled. They’re gonna be protected because the last thing that’s gonna be allowed to happen is for the Republicans to succeed in embarrassing, humiliating — and perhaps even forcing out of public life — any prominent Democrat.

They will never allow that to happen.

RUSH: Now, these phishing e-mails, they’re also called spam. And we know that Hillary didn’t delete them, because they’re part of what she sent to the State Department. And we know that because they’re part of what the State Department has released. She would have deleted these e-mails if she thought it was spam or worse. Instead, her staff even sent these e-mails, these phishing — just call it spam — even sent these to the State Department. So she thought they were real. Or, if she didn’t think they were real, she wasn’t alarmed enough by them to get rid of them.

Now, even the AP is admitting, if Hillary’s server had even had commercially available anti-virus software, she wouldn’t have seen those phishing emails. Your average spam filter will get those. Hillary did not have a spam filter. She probably didn’t even turn on a junk filter, otherwise that stuff would not have shown up. You can train an application, your program, to trash all that stuff before you even see it.

Folks, just to give you an idea, my system here gets rid of 3,000, on average, spam e-mails during the show. I have an app, not gonna tell you what it is, but it just Hoovers every bit of spam coming into every e-mail account. It racks up 3,000 every show, and over the course of a day probably 5,000 total. That’s how much of the stuff — and she didn’t delete it. It was on her server. And she didn’t have a program that deleted it, which meant that the security that she had on this server and her e-mail program was negligible.

She doesn’t even know how to use a fax machine. But because that spam was on her server that got sent to the State Department, which was released, which is why we know it’s there, she didn’t even have any anti-virus software. There’s no indication whatsoever this woman or anybody working with her had any idea what they were doing. Maybe she’s trying to hide behind the fact, “Well, the e-mails weren’t marked classified, so I didn’t know.” You know, that’s another thing Hillary does really well. When she finds herself in the middle of a mess she plays girl 101. Innocent damsel. (imitating Hillary) “Yeah, I didn’t know, I just went ahead and wanted to take care of business, I didn’t know. I didn’t know that you can have more than one device and one account at the same time.” And don’t you feminazis get mad at me, because everybody knows what I’m talking about.

You know, Trump’s getting a little frustrated on this, too. He for weeks has been thinking, saying, that he doesn’t think she’s gonna survive the campaign because she’s gonna be indicted. Anybody else would have been. And if not indicted, charged with something. This is deadly serious stuff that’s happened here. Former secretary of state trafficking and all of this, that was not protected, and the evidence keeps mounting up.

From TheHill.com. “Trump: Clinton Email Controversy ‘Terrible For Our Country.'” He said on Fox & Friends this morning: “ItÂ’s hard to believe sheÂ’s even talking about running for president. You wouldnÂ’t believe it is possible after what sheÂ’s done. What she did is totally illegal. The whole thing is terrible for our country.” And then he repeated that he thinks they probably will not indict her, talking about the FBI investigation of the server. He said: “The attorney general is from New York, and I believe is a good friend of HillaryÂ’s. ItÂ’s pure politics and itÂ’s Democrats.” And he is exactly right. My point exactly. They’re Democrats. Nothing’s gonna happen to her, precisely because of that. It’s impossible for them to break the law. That’s how corrupted our whole system has become with these people in power.

Grab audio sound bite number two. Here’s the Drive-By Media finally themselves maybe getting a little frustrated because now they are incorporating the phrase popularized by me on this program.

MARIA BARTIROMO: Do you see the latest round of e-mails as sort of another drip, drip?

ED HENRY: This is the drip, drip.

BRIAN KILMEADE: We’re going to see a drip, drip, drip.

DAN CLIFTON: It just feels like drip, drip, drip, it keeps dripping.

TRISH REGAN: This slow drip of emails.

MATT VISER: You have had this drip, drip, drip.

ANDREA MITCHELL: You’re going to have a drip, drip, drip.

CHERI JACOBUS: This is a drip, drip, drip.

SAVANNAH GUTHRIE: It’s a drip, drip, drip that will not let up.

RUSH: Isn’t it amazing how this happens? Everybody in the Drive-Bys, no matter what it is, whether it’s gravitas or whatever, they all end up seemingly getting a memo with the approved Drive-By Media descriptive phrase or sentence of the day that’s to be used. In this case it’s been stolen from me. I realize that many of you are probably saying, “Well, you stole it from somebody else because I saw a ‘drip, drip, drip’ long before you.” Yes, but nobody said it the way I did. I mean, there are a lot of people out there, “It was a drip, drip,” but nobody said drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip, drip and made a big show of it, and it was only that that has caused now people to emulate it. Don’t doubt me on this.

RUSH: Here’s Linda in Melbourne, Florida. Linda, I’m glad you waited, too. Nice to have you with us. Hello.

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. I’d like to say if I had a bucket list, you’d be number one on my bucket list, and I’d be checking you off right now.

RUSH: Well, thank you. I appreciate that very much.

CALLER: Obama and the e-mails and Hillary. My theory is Obama is holding these e-mails as kind of a trump card against Hillary as things dribble out. If she ends up getting out of the race on her own, that would be fine, but if not, he could always dangle this in front of her saying, “You get out of the race and we won’t prosecute you,” and leave it open for Joe.

RUSH: Now, let me ask a serious question, Linda.

CALLER: Okay.

RUSH: Serious. Is that what you really think is happening or is that what you hope is going to happen?

CALLER: I kind of think that is the way it’s gonna end up. He’s not said anything. He’s not been supportive, he’s not —

RUSH: No. And he never will.

CALLER: And he never will.

RUSH: Hillary may not be the only one who had a private server, and we don’t know — you know, Obama’s got his own BlackBerry. We don’t know who’s been saying what to who. We don’t know who in this Regime’s been hacked. We don’t know if Hillary has something on them. We don’t know if there’s a mutual blackmail society going on. This is all speculation. Somebody told me the other night they think that if Biden gets in the race, that that’s when the DOJ will go into action and take Hillary out. When Biden goes in to secure him the nomination is when such a thing will happen. This is what people are pondering.

And the reason, folks, again, you can’t blame people. In the everyday world anybody else in the same circumstances as Hillary Clinton would have already been charged, indicted, would be in deep doo-doo, and particularly if it were a Republican former secretary of state. So when the obvious doesn’t happen, people start developing these theories to explain it. And that’s how you end up hearing and conjuring all these convoluted conspiracy theories.
