RUSH: Henna in Durham, North Carolina. This is a 10-year-old caller who’s been holding for quite a while here, and it’s her turn now, and I’m happy to welcome you to the program, Henna. How are you?
CALLER: I’m good. How are you?
RUSH: Very, very well. Especially since you called. Thank you very much. So what’s up, Henna?
CALLER: I would like to talk to you about the book, because my brother and I both loved them.
RUSH: Well, thank you very much. What do you want to say?
CALLER: I think that when you open a typical history book, it tends to be boring. But when you open Rush Revere books, you learn a lot of more, I feel, and they’re a lot more fun to read.
RUSH: Thank you.
CALLER: For kids, especially.
RUSH: Thank you. Thank you very much. I really appreciate your saying that. Have you read all three?
CALLER: Yes, sir.
RUSH: Do you have a favorite?
CALLER: The Brave Pilgrims, definitely.
RUSH: Really? Interesting. And let me guess, you probably have a favorite character. That would be Liberty.
CALLER: Yes, sir.
RUSH: And why would that be?
CALLER: Because he’s hilarious, clumsy, and sarcastic.
RUSH: Yeah, that was easy to write. I just had to think of myself. Well, I’m glad that you enjoy them, Henna. How old…? You’re 10 years old, and how old is your brother?
CALLER: He’s seven.
RUSH: Seven. Do you read to him, or is he able to read the books himself?
CALLER: My father or my mother read them to us at night.
RUSH: Cool. All right. You know, I’m always really excited and very flattered when I hear from people like you. I mean, people like you are for whom the books are written, and it’s such an important subject, American history. We’re so unique. This country’s so special. I worry that people your age are not actually gonna be taught the truth about so much of the founding. It’s a great opportunity to reach you, and I’m really flattered that you like the books. I can’t thank you enough. I want you to… Do you have the audio versions of the books, me reading them on CD? Do you have those?
CALLER: No.
RUSH: Let me send them to you, because this is a great way to experience them in a different way. You’ve already read them. You can sit around and listen to them as read by me, the author, and we’ll put together a little package of things here for you to send for you and your brother, Henna, if you just hang on. She’s from Durham, North Carolina. Do not hang up the phone so Mr. Snerdley can get an address where we can send some stuff out to you. Thanks so much, Henna. I really, really appreciate it.
