Caller: You’ve Never Lied to Us

RUSH: Helen in Cary, North Carolina. I’m glad you called. Great to have you with us, Helen. Hello.

CALLER: How are you today, Rush?

RUSH: I’m fine. Thank you very much. I’m great.

CALLER: I want to say much love from a long, longtime old lady here who just loves you to death.

RUSH: Thank you. Thank you very much.

CALLER: And I’ve listened to all these people who are saying, you know, all the wonders of you, but they missed the most important one, and I wanted to bestow that on you, because I believe it’s the highest honor you can give a man is that his word is golden. I’ve listened to you for years. I thought it was even in the seventies, I told you Mr. Snerdley, and my mind is a little bit addled there, but the whole time that we have listened to you, never a lie, not one. That is amazing, to have spoken as much as you have. It’s an inspiration, and you are a god link.

RUSH: You know, you’ve never even thought about that?

CALLER: You have never lied.

RUSH: I’ve never even thought about that.

CALLER: And such an inspiration.

RUSH: How do you know?

CALLER: I listen to every word you say. And if I could, I actually have written a letter to people. I’d like to give it to you as a gift because it’s inspired by you. It takes a whole minute.

RUSH: You mean you want to read it?

CALLER: I’ll just read it to you.

RUSH: Well, the problem is I’ve only got 15 seconds left in this segment.

CALLER: It’s a gift. And the gift is amazing as you are.
