CALLER: Hello, Rush. I’m a first-time caller. I enjoy your show very much. My point is all the optics and everything around this, Ohio has early absentee balloting starting next Tuesday, September the 30th. We don’t wait ’til November the 4th to elect. We have five weeks of voting before that.
RUSH: I know.
CALLER: And that’s my comment.
RUSH: It’s to afford a greater opportunity to cheat and engage in fraud, and it’s a way for the Democrats to find out what they need when Election Day comes —
CALLER: Exactly.
CALLER: Right. But we have all of this now on our plate, you know?
RUSH: Yeah, so your point is —
CALLER: All the optics, the imagery and everything.
RUSH: Yeah. Your point is that all this imagery and the optics are going to influence the way people vote if they vote early, before we even really know whether this thing is successful or not, right?
CALLER: Exactly. You’re right on.
RUSH: Well, that’s only because you explained it so well. I was able to follow you and understand. You did a great job, a great job explaining your point.
CALLER: I and my grandkids are looking very much forward to another chapter of Rush Revere.
RUSH: You are?
CALLER: Yeees.
RUSH: Oh-ho, cool! Well, you know, I can’t… Every day… There’s a story in the Stack today, I wasn’t gonna mention this, now —
CALLER: I’m sorry.
RUSH: No, no! No, no. No, no. It’s good. I’m glad you did.
CALLER: (laughing)
RUSH: There’s a story in the Stack. Denver, students in Denver… I’ve got so many damn Stacks, I can’t keep track of what I’ve got anymore. Students in Denver are protesting that they’re being taught capitalism and free markets. They’re literally protesting and walking out of class! They’re fed up that they’re being “propagandized,” they say, with pro-America themes, in Denver! I shouldn’t say “in Denver!” I should say “in Denver” as though it would be expected.
But I saw the story today and I said, “This is why. It’s exactly why there is a Rush Revere time-travel adventure series.” Anyway, yeah. Judy, I really appreciate you saying so and that you’re expressing hope that there will be another chapter. Be confident. You can allow your hope to become ontological certitude, but I can’t say any more for just a little while.
CALLER: Thank you.
RUSH: But I can tell you this: It’s so good!
CALLER: Oh, I can’t wait.
RUSH: I shouldn’t say this, but, “Oh, it’s so good!” I’m chomping at the bit. But I can’t wait. Just hang in there, be cool and be patient.

RUSH: “Denver school students,” we’re talking junior high and high school, “walked out of school in protest over the curriculum teaching free-market capitalism and respect for authority.”

RUSH: It’s an AP story out of Arvada, Colorado. “Hundreds of students walked out of classrooms around suburban Denver on Tuesday in protest over a conservative-led school board proposal to focus history education on topics that promote citizenship, patriotism and respect for authority, providing a show of civil disobedience that the new standards would aim to downplay.” And of course the AP just loves reporting this. Oh, man, you can just see AP salivating here.
“The youth protest in the state’s second-largest school district follows a sick-out from teachers that shut down two high schools in the politically and economically diverse area that has become a key political battleground. Student participants said their demonstration was organized by word of mouth and social media. Many waved American flags and carried signs, including messages that read ‘There is nothing more patriotic than protest.’ ‘I don’t think my education should be censored. We should be able to know what happened in our past,’ said Tori Leu, a 17-year-old student who protested at Ralston Valley High School in Arvada.
“The school board proposal that triggered the walkout calls of instructional materials that present positive aspects of the nation and its heritage. It would establish a committee to regularly review texts and course plans, starting with Advanced Placement history, to make sure materials ‘promote citizenship, patriotism, essentials and benefits of the free-market system, respect for authority and respect for individual rights’ and don’t ‘encourage or condone civil disorder, social strike or disregard of the law.'”
Now, I can remember, honestly can, I can remember a time where you wouldn’t have to state that that was the curriculum or part of it. It was just assumed that you would teach the truth of American history. That you would teach being proud of your country. That you would teach patriotism. That you would teach the benefits of the free market system, which is how every one of you little skulls full of mush is gonna make something of yourself someday.
The free market system is where they hand out chances for success, by the way. There isn’t a socialist system out there that hands out chances for success unless you happen to be one of the precious very few in leadership positions in socialism, and they don’t pass out chances for success. What they do is give you dibs on other people’s money that you can take and use as your own. It’s called taxes.
So the students protested and walked out of classrooms in protest over this proposal to focus history education on citizenship, patriotism, and free market systems, capitalism, if you will. The students walked out. Now, they have a right to walk out, I guess. That’s what everybody says. “Well, you certainly have that right.” I’m not interested in that. What interests me in this is what are these kids learning at home? And it’s patently obvious, isn’t it?
But at the same time we’ve got a poll here that 72% of the American people think that we’re still in a recession, and they’re ticked off because they don’t think they have an equal chance at success. Here we have a bunch of students walking out because they don’t want to be taught about the benefits of the free market system. And they apparently don’t want to be taught patriotism, citizenship, and the truth of American history. They want to learn protest. They want to learn human rights. They want to learn socialism. They want to learn all these other things that are contraindicated by our own Constitution and national history.
Folks, look, this is exactly why the idea that my wife had that I should write children’s books on American history, the truth of American history, this is exactly why it appealed to me. This is exactly why. This is just one of many examples, but this perhaps may be one of the most blatant examples of this that I’ve run across in a while. “The proposal from Julie Williams, part of the board’s conservative majority, has not been voted on and was put on hold last week. She didn’t return a call from The Associated Press seeking comment.” Probably because she knows it’ll be distorted, taken out of context, and misused.
She “previously told Chalkbeat Colorado, a school news website, that she recognizes there are negative events that are part of US history that need to be taught. ‘There are things we may not be proud of as Americans,’ she said. ‘But we shouldn’t be encouraging our kids to think that America is a bad place.'” Exactly, and that’s precisely what the left is doing!
That’s how we ended up electing a guy who even today, at his speech to the UN, apologized to those thugs and dictators in the audience over what happened in Ferguson, Missouri. Did you know that? You know, Obama’s up there; he’s lecturing everybody on human rights and civil rights and how we gotta do this right and we gotta do that right — we gotta be nice here, nice there — and then he said, “Now, look.
“We’ve got our own problems here. You saw it! You saw it in Ferguson, a small town in Missouri.” He’s essentially saying, “Look, I’m gonna preach to you even though I don’t have the moral authority. I don’t have the moral authority because my own country sucks, but I’m still gonna tell you what I think we ought to do.” He just undercuts his own message.
There is a pent-up, fervent desire by people on the left to impugn this country and its founding and its history to as many young skulls full of mush as possible. You know, the truth of American history, I got that covered with the books. I’m cool. But this business of telling young people…? Sorry. This instance of having young people protest and walk out of school because they don’t want to learn about economic freedom?
That is a concern.
They all want to be successful. I guaran-damn-tee you they do, and probably a lot of these kids are gonna be future people running around asking, “What happened to my chance for success? There’s an unequal chance for success.” Well, yeah, you rejected learning about it when you were in school in Colorado, because the capitalist system is where the chance for success is, and it’s where it’s passed out!
The free market system is where you find opportunity. The free market system is where you find opportunity to innovate, to create, to invent, to succeed. That’s where it lives. And now we get kids arriving at school suspicious of it, hating it, and I guarantee you they’re being lied to about it by their parents or whoever. A casual glance at the history of the world… I mentioned this stat to you yesterday. It’s a stunning stat.
Fifty percent of the world’s wealth has been created by United States. Now, people like this think it’s been stolen. They don’t think we’ve created anything. We’ve stolen it. We’ve engaged in wars for oil, and we’ve conquered countries and we’ve stolen their stuff and we brought it back and we’ve used it and then given it to the Koch brothers — and before that we gave it to Halliburton, and before that we gave it to Exxon.
Yeah, so now these kids are running around saying, “Okay, where do I go for my chance of success?” I’ll tell you what: When you find the guy in your town that’s responsible for gasoline prices, that’s the guy you go to for your chance for success. But how silly is that? I mean people think that there’s a single person in charge of gasoline prices. They’ve been made to believe that. (interruption) Oh, they’ll come around.
Snerdley said, “These kids have been brainwashed this early. What are the chances of them coming around?” I don’t know. It’s 50-50. There’s a chance they’ll come around. Some do; some don’t. Sometimes people in the clutches of the left end up being strangled and smothered and they just sit there and live their lives underneath the pillow.
They’re looking at life through a fog filled with resentment at all the success they see, thinking that everybody that’s enjoying success is somehow cheating somebody else, which leads to a very bad outlook. It leads to that lack of appreciation, acknowledgement, respect, for the things people do to become successful. On that, an obscene profit break. I think it’s appropriate.
