RUSH: Okay, audio sound bite time. You’re gotta hear this. We’ll start here with John Kerry. This is from hearing testimony yesterday on Capitol Hill. This is the blind leading the blind. This is so convoluted. It was left to Bob Corker, Tennessee, to try to make some sense of it. We’ll start late yesterday afternoon, Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing on the US strategy for combating the Islamic State. John Kerry testified. During his remarks, Code Pink had shown up and was protesting, and during his remarks, this is what he said about the Code Pink protesters in the hearing.

KERRY: I understand dissent. I’ve lived it. That’s how I first testified in front of this country in 1971. I respect the right of Code Pink to protest and to use that right. But, you know what? I also know something about Code Pink. You ought to care about fighting ISIL, because ISIL is killing and raping and mutilating women, and they believe women shouldn’t have an education. They sell off girls to be sex slaves to jihadists! There is no negotiation with ISIL. There is nothing to negotiate. And they’re not offering anyone health care of any kind. (snickers) Y-you know, they’re not offering education of any kind.

RUSH: Are you kidding me? Do you see why I can’t take this seriously? Here is John Kerry (who served in Vietnam), and the first thing out of his mouth is to let everybody know he served in Vietnam and to remind everybody that he first became known by protesting Vietnam! So he’s a good guy. And then he invokes the War on Women in telling Code Pink that they’ve gotta try to understand how bad ISIL is.

This is unbelievable!

This is a bunch of militant Islamist terrorists who want to impose Sharia law on everybody. They want to wipe out infidels. It’s a very serious thing that they’re trying to accomplish, and we are in their crosshairs, and John Kerry has just trivialized it and reduced it to something that’s politically absurd and relevant only to a fake creation of the Democrat Party in this election cycle, the War on Women.

“You ought to care about fighting ISIL, because ISIL is killing and raping and mutilating women, and they believe women shouldn’t have an education. They sell off girls to be sex slaves…” If all that’s true, then what the hell is the War on Women being conducted against Republicans for, Mr. Secretary? Would somebody explain that to me? If the Republicans are engaged in a War on Women, why don’t you tell people about them like you’re telling people about ISIL?

It sounds to me like you’re making the case here that the real War on Women’s being conducted by ISIL, and that might confuse Code Pink because they believe the War on Women’s being conducted by Republicans. But no matter how you look at it, this is… This is… My God, this is almost juvenile absurd. He wasn’t finished. He kept going here.

KERRY: For a whole philosophy or idea or a cult, whatever you want to call it, that frankly comes out of the Stone Age. They’re cold-blooded killers, marauding across the Middle East, making a mockery of a peaceful religion. And that’s precisely why we are building a coalition to try to stop them from denying the women and the girls and the people of Iraq the very future that they yearn for. And, frankly, Code Pink and a lot of other people need to stop and think about how you stop them and deal with that.

RUSH: I can’t… Folks, so you’ve got what’s supposed to be a very serious, informational hearing at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Code Pink gets in there and protests and disrupts. I didn’t bother playing you the sound bites ’cause I don’t really want to waste time on that. You know Code Pink. John Kerry changes whatever he was gonna say and makes his testimony almost exclusively an education project for Code Pink!

He then goes on and spends his time to tell Code Pink the threats to women they present. They’re “denying the women and the girls and the people of Iraq the very future that they yearn for. And, frankly, Code Pink and a lot of other people need to stop and think…” Well, Bob Corker, Tennessee, had heard enough and thought that he needed to put the secretary of state in his place.

CORKER: Do you realize how unserious the things that you have laid out and the things that were laid out yesterday sound when you’re discussing training 5,000 — in you all’s own words — doctors and dentists and others in Saudi Arabia, over a year? I’m disappointed. I was disappointed in the briefing we had last week. I hope you’ll lay out a plan that will convince us that you’re serious about doing the things you said you’re gonna do — to the American people and to us — about ISIL, because you haven’t done it now.

RUSH: He couldn’t believe what he had heard. He literally could not believe how unserious — and, frankly, pandering — it was politically. John Kerry’s testimony was designed to turn out Democrat voters, female voters in November and to tell them the reason we’re going after ISIL is to make sure Code Pink stops protesting us. Code Pink’s gotta learn that ISIL doesn’t like women. ISIL hates women.

Meanwhile, we all thought it was the Republican Party conducting the War on Women. Well, after that sound bite from Bob Corker, which… Snerdley, did you think there was anything crazy about that? I mean, all he did was say to John Kerry, “Do you realize how unserious the things you’ve laid out today and that you laid out yesterday sound?” Well, Barbara Boxer could not believe that Bob Corker had the audacity to be so disrespectful to the secretary of state.

BOXER: I think it is shocking and a sad state of affairs that we heard just now such angry comments aimed at you, Mr. Secretary — and through you, at our president — instead of at ISIS, a savage group who decapitated two Americans and have warned, and I quote, that their thirst for more American blood is right out there. I think it’s shocking. I’m actually shaking and trembling. This is not the time to show anger at the people who are working night and day, whether you agree with them or not, to protect our people.

RUSH: What in the world is she upset about? Why would you be shaking and trembling over what Corker said? Why couldn’t Kerry talk about the journalists that were beheaded? They were male? I guess he thinks Code Pink wouldn’t be moved by the danger posed to men by ISIL. I tell you, I don’t know how to describe this.

This pandering, it really is juvenile. It’s insulting, incompetent, juvenile behavior practiced by a bunch of arrogant, condescending people. They really think they’re the smartest people in the world, in the room? It is just… I don’t know. This is not comforting that this is the kind of brain power and thinking that is leading us in this supposed effort to wipe out this big enemy. I don’t know, folks.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Really, folks, how serious can you be about ISIL if you take time out to respond to a bunch of malcontent protesters like Code Pink that shouldn’t have even been in there? You need to get the support of Code Pink in order to validate the operation?
