CALLER: Yes, Mr. Limbaugh.
RUSH: Well, welcome to the program. I’m delighted to have you here.
CALLER: Thank you. It’s an honor to talk to you.
RUSH: Thank you.
CALLER: I wanted to compliment you on your books about Rush Revere and tell you that I enjoy them and I learn from them.
RUSH: That is great. You warm my heart. I have not been in the best of moods today, Alexandria. I will not bore you with why, but you have lifted my spirits immensely. That’s so nice to hear, so nice of you to call and say.
CALLER: And the thing is, in school, kids, they don’t like to learn, but like your book has gotten them reading about history again, and history, they need to know their history. It’s a very important thing because it’s part of our daily lives. And if you don’t know your history, that is a big part of your life.
RUSH: Well, you’re so right, and those kids are not unusual. I remember when I was your age, the last place I wanted to be was school. And when I was your age, even older than you, I thought what they’re teaching me now, I don’t need to know this. This is a waste of my time. And I didn’t learn ’til much later how wrong I was, and I was very lucky that I absorbed more than I was interested in when I was in school. And so that’s why these books are written in a way to make it fun and to actually take you, the reader, to and be right in the middle of the historical event rather than just have it recited to you, ’cause there’s nothing more boring than that.
CALLER: Hm-hm. And they’re taking all of the good stuff that is in the history books, and the Founding Fathers were — they had lots of virtues and principles, they’re taking all that out, and they’re just really taking out all the good stuff, which also makes it kind of boring because —
RUSH: Well, they’re taking out the truthful stuff is what you mean. When you say they’re taking out the good stuff, they’re taking out the truthful stuff and replacing it with their own agenda. Well, Alexandria, do you have the audio versions of these books? Because if you don’t, I would like to send them to you.
CALLER: I do not.
RUSH: Well, you do now.
CALLER: I don’t want to make you feel obligated to do that if you don’t want to.
RUSH: No, no, not obligated at all. It’s a joy for me. I love sharing these things. I read the audio version. So we’ll send you both of them.
