Caller: Dems Demonize My Grandpa

by Rush Limbaugh - Jan 30,2014

RUSH: Here’s is Jamie, Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Great to have you on the EIB Network. Hi.

CALLER: Hi. It’s great to talk to you.

RUSH: Thank you very much.

CALLER: I want to talk about a couple things, but I want to talk about my grandpa, because a couple days ago you were talking about how the rich were demonized and put down. He owns his own company, built it up from the bottom, the ground, and he gives away to charity, and he is taxed, and, I mean, it’s incredible how much he’s taxed.

RUSH: Oh, I know.

CALLER: By this government.

RUSH: And he does not have a jet. He doesn’t have a boat. He’s not riding around playing golf at the country club. He works, right? That’s what he did.

CALLER: I know. I know. He is 88 years old and he works hard every single day.

RUSH: Exactly. That’s what most of the rich do. They work. They have to earn it somehow.

CALLER: I know.

RUSH: They’re not the jet setting partiers that TMZ and so forth would lead you to believe. And that’s why they’re excellent role models, or should be, instead of being demonized as suspects and blamed for why other people don’t have as much as they do.

CALLER: Exactly.

RUSH: Well, it’s great to hear you’re proud of your granddad.

CALLER: Well, yeah, I mean, I heard you talk about that on Monday and then on Tuesday after the president gave his speech, and I couldn’t watch the whole thing because I just turned it off and I’m sick of the same stuff —

RUSH: I hear you, Jamie. It was tough. I only watched it ’cause I had to. I really didn’t want to watch. I feel such a disconnect from this. This is the first president in my I don’t feel like I have anything in common. I feel like a total stranger. I actually feel like I’m an enemy.

CALLER: Yeah, I know. I mean, I live in a red state, North Carolina, with a blue little dot, Chapel Hill.

RUSH: Yeah, well, you’re in a blue city.

CALLER: Well, yeah. And I can’t really talk about anything because I don’t want to cause any kind of backlash or whatever from my clients. I’m a trainer in a gym, and I don’t want to cause any kind of animosity towards me ’cause of my political views, and it’s horrible that I have to be suppressed like that.

RUSH: Well, you don’t have to, but I understand why you want to. So you’re a trainer, huh?

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: A physical trainer?

CALLER: Yes.

RUSH: Like aerobics and stuff or weights?

CALLER: I’m a personal trainer so I’m in the gym, I have clients, and they hire me as a private personal trainer.

RUSH: Are you a whip cracker? Do you work ’em hard? I mean, do you push them beyond —

CALLER: Absolutely.

RUSH: — what they think their limits are? That’s good. That’s good.

CALLER: Absolutely.

RUSH: I’d never hire you ’cause I don’t want to be pushed that way. (laughing)

CALLER: (laughing) I also want to talk about Pat McCrory. It’s so excellent what he’s doing in North Carolina. It’s incredible. I’m just so happy that he’s doing what he’s doing.

RUSH: Well, I’m glad you called. I’m outta time. I have to go. I wish I wasn’t, but that’s it. Thanks very much, Jamie.
