RUSH: Emerald Isle, North Carolina, this is Kelly. It’s great to have you with us on the EIB Network. Hi.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. It is an honor to talk to you. I’m so excited. Thank you so much for everything you do for the conservative movement.

RUSH: Well, thank you. I appreciate that. Thank you very much.

CALLER: Well, I have to tell you: When I got through to Snerdley — I’m a first-time caller — I pulled on the side of the road. And my sweet husband, who had been waiting at the airport for me to come and pick him up… He’s a Steeler fan, and you’re the only man on earth I would make him wait to go pick up. (giggling) So thank you so much for taking my call.

RUSH: I am flattered and you’re more than welcome.

CALLER: Well, I just wanted to let you know my dad was a small businessman in eastern North Carolina, and he listened to you for years. He since passed away. It’ll be 10 years this Thanksgiving, and I listen to you and think about him every day and I just appreciate just how special you are. You’re a national treasure, and you say the things that we all are thinking out in America, and you give us a voice. I just want you to know how special you are to all of us.

RUSH: Thank you really very much. I’m really flattered by that and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it. Really.

CALLER: Well, you know, you get banged up on in the media and you get picked on and when they give your sound bites, they never give the full story.

RUSH: Well, you know, the pioneers take the arrows.

CALLER: Well, I know, and I just want you to know that there are so many of us — and people that maybe you wouldn’t even know — who are pulling for you and who are huge fans, and I don’t know what we’d do without you Rush. I was talking to one of my girls who I knew —

RUSH: Let me tell you the truth. I mean, I get all that stuff. You’re right. But the fact that I know that you all know what the truth is, and that you know that it’s all a bunch of BS, is really what enables me or gives me the strength to deal with it and put up with it. Because I know that you all don’t fall for that BS. I know that you know it’s BS, and that gives me a lot of confidence. So it’s a two-way street here.

CALLER: I hope so, because we all talk about it, and you’re just terrific. Even yesterday, you know, I did watch a little bit of the president’s speech, and the production that was yesterday, like you said, style over substance. They didn’t have Senator Scott there. He’s a wonderful young black conservative from South Carolina and, and to deny him the opportunity to that moment? It just shows you what hypocrites the liberals are.

RUSH: And you know why? You know why? You know what they said? ‘Cause he wasn’t elected yet.

CALLER: Oh. Well, he was appointed by a Republican also. Another reason he’s not valid, right?

RUSH: That’s the real reason. There weren’t any Republicans there, and they didn’t invite any Republicans until the day before or some such thing.

CALLER: Right.

RUSH: Here the people who are trying to paint themselves as the architects of inclusion. I’m gonna tell you, folks: That event yesterday and what has become of the civil rights movement, I think, would really bother Dr. King, because he was an integrationist. Dr. King was about integration, and these people that have taken over the civil rights movement are a bunch of segregationists, separatists.

That’s why there’s all this racial strife in the country today. They are standing in the way of integration and acceptance. All they want to do is harp on the divisions, and they want to try to create divisions where there aren’t any, and amplify isolated incidents and try to make ’em look like the norm. It’s really pathetic, these people are. But, Kelly, thank you again. I really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
