RUSH: Sheila is in Savannah, Georgia. Great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.
CALLER: Hi, Rush. Thanks. I just wanted to share with you my experience in Annapolis. My stepson graduated from the Naval Academy. Obama gave the commencement speech and it was like a campaign speech. It was disgusting. He was saying, “Oh, isn’t it a shame how the actions of a few can bring down the reputation of an entire agency,” and he just —
RUSH: Wait, wait, wait. Hold it. Hold it. What was he talking about?
CALLER: He was talking about character —
RUSH: But no, the —
CALLER: — and how we can be honest.
RUSH: Wait. “The actions of a few bring down the reputation of an entire agency.” What agency?
CALLER: He was talking about the IRS.
RUSH: IRS. Okay.
CALLER: Mmm-hmm. Yep. What did that have to do with giving his commencement speech and talking to these graduates? I just wanted to hold up a sign saying, “I’m a Rush Babe.” I couldn’t even stand the sight of him, actually. But then he went on about how job creation has been occurring, the economy is growing, and that he’s going to make sure that everyone there is gonna get all the tools that they need to do their job in the military.
RUSH: Right.
CALLER: Yeah. Yeah. Meanwhile, there was no flyover because of sequestration, but he flew in on Marine One.
RUSH: Is that what…? Did he say or did somebody say the reason there wasn’t a flyover was sequestration?
CALLER: Yes. The Naval Academy said that. Mmm-hmm!
RUSH: Look, Obama runs the Naval Academy. He’s commander-in-chief.
CALLER: Yep.
RUSH: What do you expect when Obama is doing a commencement speech anywhere?
CALLER: Yeah.
RUSH: What do you expect?
CALLER: Yep. Yeah. I e-mailed the White House prior to the event saying how disgusting it is that these boys can’t even have a flyover yet Obama can fly all over God’s creation — you know, everywhere. They can go to the Bahamas on vacation and everything, and the graduates can’t get a flyover? Really?
RUSH: Well, in fairness, the women didn’t get one, either.
CALLER: True.
RUSH: There are cadetettes.
CALLER: There are. There are.
RUSH: There are midshipladies. They didn’t get a flyover, either.
CALLER: Right. Correct. All 1,046 of them did not get one.
RUSH: Well —
CALLER: But he did shake everyone’s hand, I must say. He stood there in the rain and shook hands with every single graduate. I’ll give him that, and that’s about it.
RUSH: Well, that’s cool.
CALLER: So —
RUSH: That woulda made my day.
CALLER: You know… Yeah. You know.
RUSH: I just… Look, I hate to tell you, but Obama doesn’t have a nonpartisan mode. He doesn’t have an apolitical mode, and he doesn’t have a mode that is about anything other than him. So, I’m sorry it happened, but it should have been expected. I don’t know what you think about a commencement speech. Yeah, you can’t have a flyover, but Obama took a helicopter from DC to Annapolis. At the flyover they shoulda just made everybody wait while Obama leaves and his departure on Marine One could have been the flyover, with everybody saluting. Sheila, thank you.
