RUSH: Sandusky, Ohio. This is Steve. Welcome, sir, to the EIB Network and El Rushbo. Hello, sir.

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. This is a double honor talking to you, not only just talking to you, but on the day that Obama’s perfect crease is finally melting as sweat pours down his leg. I had a question about what your opinion was on when Obama and the rest of his administration started lying about this video coming out. Do you think his promotion of that video actually incited the balance of these riots that have happened out there?

RUSH: I think that’s an excellent point, because after the riots… I take it back. After the terror attack in Benghazi and the riots that took place in Cairo, they popped up all over the Middle East. At one point, 20 or 22 embassies were being protested. The American flag was being burned on the ground. The Al-Qaeda flag was being raised, and Steve’s point here is that Obama may have contributed to that with his constant criticism of the filmmaker, which justified their rage.

You know, Obama was basically saying, “We understand why you’re doing this. We understand why you’re mad. We had a guy here who made a video that made fun of the prophet. We totally understand what you’re doing.” At that point, I’ll bet you people who had never heard of that video and didn’t even know it existed, all of a sudden hear about it for the first time from Obama, and the way he talks about it incites them.

It gets them upset, gets them mad, and that was perfect as far as Obama’s concerned because it facilitated the cover-up that it was a terror attack. (Obama impression) “Well, look at that! All those protests out there? It’s because of that video. It’s because of the First Amendment. People here have no respect for the prophet, and look at what it cost.” We’re all sitting there thinking, “Ah, this is not good for Obama, all these anti-American protests.” It probably was the best thing that coulda happened. It helped him promulgate the lie that the video was responsible for our ambassador’s murder.

Folks, this really is a big deal.

I don’t often spend two hours on one thing.

But this is huge. It has ramifications and meaning far beyond this one issue, although this one issue was enough. We have a dead ambassador here. We’ve got three other Americans dead because of glaring, utter incompetence, narcissism, and a desire on the part of this president to make everybody think that he had wiped out Al-Qaeda at the same time Osama Bin Laden was killed. We’re better than this, and we deserve better than this. We deserve better leadership than this. We deserve better foreign policy. Our military deserve more competent leadership than they’re getting. This is a travesty.

This is a story I mentioned earlier. Romney happened to know one of the SEALs who was killed along with the ambassador. He told the story in Iowa yesterday during a campaign event.

ROMNEY: I said to Ann, “We’ve gotta go to this party. I got this flier about the neighborhood party, we gotta go over there.” So she said, “Okay.” We went over, knocked on the door, they let us in, “Good to see you.” We came in, we had dinner together and got our pictures with everybody. It turns out this wasn’t the neighborhood party. This was a family having a party with their friends, all right? And so we were a little embarrassed, but they treated us well nonetheless and I got to meet some really interesting people.

RUSH: What had happened was, there’s a flier that had gone out in the Romney neighborhood that there’s this big holiday party, and it was a neighbor sweep, everybody invited. And the Romneys are looking out the window the day of the party, and they see a big bash going on across the street and they think that’s the party. So Mitt says to Ann, “We gotta go over there. They invited us, we gotta go make an appearance.” They went over there, and it was not the place. It was a different family.

ROMNEY: One of them was a guy actually from my home state of Massachusetts, and a relatively young guy compared to me, and he was a former Navy SEAL. He was living in San Diego. I learned about him. He talked about his life. He skied a lot. He skied in some of the places I had, and we had a lot of things in common. He told me that he keeps going back to the Middle East. He cares very deeply about the people there. He served in the military there, went back from time to time to offer security services and so forth to people there. You can imagine how I felt when I found out that he was one of the two former Navy SEALs killed in Benghazi on September 11th. And it touched me, obviously, as I recognized this young man that I thought was so impressive had lost his life in the service of his fellow men and women.

RUSH: Yeah, the audience had no idea where this was going. You did because I had told you. You heard the audience gasp there. This sounded like a fun neighborhood yuk-yuk story, holiday story, and Romney throws in that one of the SEALs killed was in the house that he mistakenly went into.

ABC News with a follow-up story. Jane Horton is the grieving widow behind Romney’s personal story. Jane Horton is the widow of the SEAL who was killed in the Benghazi attack. She began crying on the other end of the phone when she learned that Romney had been using the story of her husband, Chris Horton, as part of a stump speech. “To be honest, I’ve been through a lot. I’m not a super emotional person. One of the last things my husband said to me before he was killed, I would ask him, ‘Chris, what do you need over there, what can I send you?’ He said, ‘I need a new president.’

This is not the wife of the man killed in Benghazi. This is a different military member. Chris Horton was a military man killed in Afghanistan. This is not the wife of the man Romney was just talking about. Different one. But Romney does talk about this guy as well on the stump, and ABC caught up with her and asked her, “What do you think?” and that’s when she tells the story. “One of the last things my husband said to me before he was killed, I’d ask him, ‘Chris, what do you need over there, what can I send you?’ ‘I need a new president.'” She said that to ABC News.
