RUSH: Folks, I have a little plug here for friend. You know, I got two monitors on in here. I have Fox on one. I used to have MSNBC up there, but that’s willing insanity, so I put CNN on. It’s not nearly as bad. It’s still challenging. The other day I’m watching Megyn Kelly. Her show is on same time this is, and I know Megyn and her husband. Her husband’s name is Doug Brunt. Doug’s a CEO of an Internet security firm, and she’s interviewing Doug. She’s interviewing her husband.

So I got on the IFB and I said, “Snerdley, that’s Megyn’s husband,” and I couldn’t hear it. I’m reading the closed-captioning. But then I saw a graphic go up. He’s written a book. I guess he’s had this long-held desire to be a novelist. So she’s interviewing him about his book. So I wonder: What is this about? The title of his book is Ghosts of Manhattan. I bought it last night on the Apple iBooks Store, and it’s also available in the Kindle store.

By the way, if you go buy it, there’s another book by some other guy of a similar title. The book I’m talking about, Ghosts of Manhattan, is a basically blue cover and the author is Doug Brunt. You know what it’s about? It’s supposedly fictional. (chuckling) It’s a supposedly fictional account of a Wall Street bond trader in the days leading up to the collapse. I started reading it last night, and I was really intrigued by it. In just the first 75 pages: sex, drugs, hookers, money.

Doug has loaded the thing up. I don’t know. I was a little surprised. I had no idea what to expect. It’s his first book. It’s really good. I haven’t finished the thing, but I thought, “I’m gonna mention it because I know it’s been a passion of his to write a book.” It’s one of these things. You know how many authors there are, frustrated authors that really want to do that? But there’s no money in it if you don’t hit, and you have to have some other job that you do.

Well, he finally just took the plunge, did the book, and I don’t know what he’s doing with his Internet company. But it’s entertaining. It really is. And, by the way, when I say “sex, drugs, hookers,” it’s not porn. It’s not X-rated or any of that stuff. It’s just a fictional account of what goes on on Wall Street. This guy sells corporate bonds. The lead character sells corporate bonds and he makes a lot of money but he’s bored silly. He doesn’t take a lot of work.

He’s got a little guilt that he got the job simply because he knew the right people in college. He’s got a marriage that’s fake and phony and so forth. I don’t know where it’s going, but I’m sure it’s got something to do with the collapse because that’s alluded to. It’s instructional in that sense, too, in the fact of what the banks were doing, what they were forced to do, and the leverage they were engaged in. So it’s really good.

For a first book, I was impressed.
