RUSH: They took God out of the platform and they’re telling everybody that the only thing we all have in common is government. Government is what unites us. Grab audio sound bite number three. This is 13 seconds. This is a snippet of a DNC video.

VOICE: We do believe you can use government in a good way. Government’s the only thing that we all belong to. We’re different churches, different clubs, but we’re together as a part of our city or our county or our state.

RUSH: That’s what they believe. Of course they’re out there denying. “No, wait a minute. That’s a local group that did that. That wasn’t us. That’s some renegade group, some rogue group. We didn’t do that.” Republicans were all over this. We don’t belong to government. Government belongs to us. “Government’s the only thing we all belong to.” If you were able to wade through all of the confusion last night to the last two hours of that convention, I don’t care whether it was Castro, whether it was Rahm Emanuel, Michelle Obama, the message was clear. There wasn’t a single mention of small business. There wasn’t a single mention of the private sector.

It was all tied to government. It was all about how we are wards, we are stewards of the state. It’s the state that makes us. The fact that the state cares about us is what gives us hope. The fact that the people at the top, at government, care. That’s all we need. That’s all we need to know. We don’t need to know anything else. We don’t need to ask any other questions. Barack cares, and that’s it. That’s enough. That’s all we need. Once you know that Barack cares, you don’t have a single worry. You don’t have a single concern, because Barack cares. And how do we know he cares? Because his wife is in love with him now more than she ever has been. Despite the fact that on her first date his car was so rusted out it had a hole in the bottom and she could see the street go by. Oh, and his first coffee table he found in a dumpster.

Last night Michelle Obama said something about, “In Barack’s America, nobody’s going to go broke when they get sick.” They have a half brother over in Nairobi who lives in a hut. A family member of the brother got sick and needed $1,000 for medical treatment. The guy didn’t bother calling Barack because he knew he wouldn’t get a call back. He knew Barack wouldn’t take his call. “Barack cares! Barack cares about you!” And that’s all you need to know. That’s the sum total of everything you need: Barack cares.

The government cares — and, because of that, you’re going to be fine. But if you’re George Obama, and you live in a hut in Nairobi’s slums, and your son gets sick and you need a thousand dollars, who do you call? A journalist in America who interviewed you! Because your half-brother, Barack (who cares), won’t help you out. If Barack cares, why is there so much suffering? If Barack cares, why is there so much struggling? By the way, when did “struggling” ever get spelled with an ‘h’ in it? I thought it was “struggling.” Every time I hear Democrats say it, it’s “strugg-hle.”

Gotta take a break here
