RUSH: The Messiah said something. This just sounds strange. Let me find it. It’s Obama talking about Easter. Grab sound bite 21. Now, it’s risky whenever you start reacting to other people’s expression of their religious beliefs. It’s dangerous territory to wade into, but this still strikes me as strange phraseology. Well, I’ve never heard people discuss the Resurrection the way Obama did. This was yesterday in Washington, the White House. There was an Easter prayer breakfast, and here’s just a portion of what Obama said.
OBAMA: I wanted to host this breakfast for a simple reason. Because, as busy as we are —
RUSH: Yeah?
OBAMA: — as many tasks as pile up during this season —
RUSH: Yeah?
OBAMA: We are reminded that there’s something about the Resurrection, something about the Resurrection of our savior, Jesus Christ, that puts everything else in perspective.
RUSH: There’s just something about the Resurrection that puts everything in perspective. I don’t know what that would be. I mean usually that’s how they title movies, you know, There’s Something About Mary. There’s something about Snerdley. But you just don’t hear there’s something about the Resurrection. What about the Resurrection? What is it, sir, about the Resurrection that puts everything else in perspective? There’s just something about the Resurrection. “Mr. Limbaugh, are you leveling a disguised allegation?” No, no, Mr. New Castrati. I’ve just never heard it discussed this way. When he discusses the call to prayer in the Muslim world as being one of the sweetest sounds in the world, I mean that’s an eloquent way to describe the Muslim call to prayer. Here we’re talking the Resurrection. There’s something about that. You know what? Michelle and I were talking about it, something there’s about that that just puts everything in perspective.

RUSH: Now, I checked the e-mail during the break and some people write,” Rush, why? Why you have to jump on Obama’s case here about what he said about Easter?” Folks, look… (sigh) Without the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, there is no Christianity. Without that, Christianity isn’t true, and when Obama says, “There’s something about the Resurrection that puts everything else in perspective” here? He’s talking about Easter. You know, after hearing him describe it that way, I’m actually surprised that Obama doesn’t think of Easter as the day a big rabbit comes out of his hole and, depending on whether he sees his shadow or not, tells us if we’re in for a long winter.
“That’s the groundhog, Mr. Limbaugh!”
RUSH: I know it’s the groundhog. I’m trying to tell you what you think Obama probably thinks. Easter is the most sacred, most important Christian holiday, and this is just a strange thing to say about it: “As busy as we are, as many tasks that pile up during this season, we’re reminded there’s something about the Resurrection, something about the Resurrection of our savior that puts everything else in perspective”? What is it about the Resurrection that does that?

It is the seminal moment of Christianity. “There’s something about the Resurrection puts everything else in perspective.” What is he talking about? What about the Resurrection? Okay, so there’s something about the Resurrection that puts everything else in perspective, and then sound bite five again. He says this about the way we’re handling our finances.
OBAMA: If we keep on spending more than we take in, it’s gonna cause serious damage to our economy.
RUSH: Whew. And yet we keep hearing from the David Brookses of the world what an eloquent, elegant president we have. That’s mind-boggling.

When you start thinking about the Resurrection, you know, socialism, not that important to me. What does he mean? What is it about the Resurrection that puts everything else? He said something about it. What about it?
