RUSH: Joe in Ventura, California. Welcome to the Rush Limbaugh program. Hello, sir.

CALLER: Thank you, Rush. You keep me sane and entertained. You know, I don’t call Barack Obama a jackass; I call him (unintelligible) Obama. But I just thought you’d be interesting in knowing this. Unfortunately, I’m an SEIU member. Not by choice. It’s my occupation.

RUSH: Yeah, I understand how that works.

CALLER: And I noticed on our bulletin board the other day that it said that in January our health insurance plan was going to go on up 4.4%. I thought Andy Stern did some backroom deals where that wasn’t going to happen. So I just wanted to make sure all the libs out there listening, especially the SEIU, know that they’re not immune.

RUSH: How many…? I want to ask you a serious question. We’ve got less than a minute here. How many SEIU members actually think that their health care cost, premiums or whatever are gonna go down because of Obama loving the unions, Obama doing health care. How many people in that union actually believe that?

CALLER: You know, I’m not a really active member so I can’t really give you a definitive answer on that but I guarantee you it’s a majority that think —

RUSH: Really?

CALLER: — ‘Oh, I’ll be protected.’

RUSH: The union people really think Andy Stern is looking out for them?

CALLER: Well, he was. I mean, he’s no longer there, but, yeah. When you saw those pictures of him coming out of the White House, I think the union members thought —

RUSH: Yeah, see —

CALLER: — ‘Hey, we’re set.’

RUSH: Some of them are. I have no doubt. But I really think a lot of these people are foils. I think Stern is not interested in them. He’s interested in how they can be used, how their money can be used, how their votes can be used to advance his agenda and Obama’s. They’re tools. And what are they going to do? Where are they gonna go? I mean, in an conomy like this, what if their health care costs do go up? They’re just going to blame management somewhere along the line and keep the workers all ticked off and agitated to continue the whole process. That’s how they work.
