RUSH: CNN’s State of the Union, Howard Dean predicted the Democrats will hold Congress to Candy Crowley on CNN, the State of the Union show.
DEAN: I’d bet money on the Senate for sure. The House is much tougher. I think at the end of the day we’re gonna win in the House, and we’re going to have a majority, it will probably be reduced to many — perhaps as small as a five or ten-seat majority. We simply have better candidates. There’s a young guy named Tommy Sowers, who is a Vietnam vet who is going to knock off Jo Ann Emerson in southeast Missouri, Rush Limbaugh’s home district. He’s just running a tremendous campaign. He’s raised a lot of dough. So we’re going to have some pickups.
RUSH: They’re focused on a district in which I don’t live. It’s not my district. I grew up there. My picture is on the flood wall murals, and I own the town, but I don’t live there. It’s not the Rush Limbaugh district. But nevertheless Howard Dean, ‘Oh, yeah, we’re going to take the Jo Ann Emerson seat.’ We’ll see. We’ll see about that. You know, Howard Dean ran his 2004 presidential campaign against me, if you recall. We’ve been living rent free in Howard Dean’s head since he ran for president.
