RUSH: Here’s Mahmoud, Denver, Colorado. Great to have you on the EIB Network.

CALLER: Hey, Rush. Good to talk to you. Before I get started I just want to give you kudos on promoting products, because all those people who question whether or not you promote them because you’re biased or whatever. I’m a software engineer, and Carbonite, brilliant, brilliant idea. I wish I thought of it. Anyway, you don’t know how many times it saved my life.

RUSH: Thank you very much.

CALLER: Yeah. Before I get to my point, I want to give a shout-out to my wife, beautiful wife, Emily, my best friend, who turned me to you soon after Obama got elected. And I gotta tell you, over the past 20 months I’ve learned so much, and it’s been incredible. So thank you.

RUSH: You’re welcome, sir. Thank you.

CALLER: Anyway, I have a lot of insight on Islam, and I was a Muslim, 18 years ago I became a Christian. And so I’ve got a lot of insight, and I’m gonna have to —

RUSH: Does that make you an apostate?

CALLER: Say again?

RUSH: It makes you apostate.

CALLER: Probably by calling your show, I’m, you know —

RUSH: Yeah. I was gonna say.

CALLER: — putting a target on my back. And, you know, that’s really the point of my call today. The fact is that, you know, I got two points here, and I’m going to condense them here in the short time that I have, and, number one is that I became a Christian about 18 years ago. I got to this country when I was 16 years old, and I had hopes and dreams, and I came to this country because it was free. I mean you can do great things with this freedom. You can have unlimited opportunities. And little by little everything’s being taken away and when he got elected I was so incredibly upset, so your show has helped me a lot.

RUSH: Thank you very much, what about Obama in this thing, he’s considered an apostate, too, because he was born a Muslim.

CALLER: Absolutely. That’s what I’m trying to get at. I can’t talk about — I’m talking to you about my faith on national radio but knowing that it’s going to paint a big target on my back and that’s the point. The fact is once you see, once you find out who Jesus is and what he’s done for your life, you can’t stop talking about it. So if he is a Christian or a Muslim, if he’s a Christian, then he can just come out and say, ‘Yes, I’m a Christian,’ period.

RUSH: Well, he has.

CALLER: I know, but he doesn’t come out and denounce his Muslim faith. He dances around that. To me, the fact that he’s not coming out strong on the other side tells me that he’s not.

RUSH: Oh, I got you. Yeah, I can understand exactly. So he’s not denying something fervently enough, which it’s up to the interpreter as to how — in your case you — how you want to read that. But, look, Mahmoud, thanks for the call, I appreciate it.
