RUSH: President Obama, the leader of the regime, this afternoon at the White House in the Roosevelt Room congratulating himself on economic progress. We have two sound bites. Here’s the first.
OBAMA: I want to talk about the progress that we made this week on three fronts as we work to repair the damage to our economy from this recession and build a stronger foundation for the future. Taken together, we made enormous progress this week on Wall Street reform, on making sure that we’re eliminating waste and abuse in government, and in providing immediate assistance to people who are out there looking for work.
RUSH: Well, there you have it, folks, this has been a great week. The leader of the regime, you heard him right there, great, great week, congratulations are in order for him, great progress on three fronts. ‘Repair the damage to our economy from this recession and build a stronger foundation for the future,’ enormous progress on Wall Street reform. Wow. So this is the measuring stick. This was a fabulous week. This was a great week. Look what you all have to look forward to. Here’s the second sound bite.
OBAMA: Ultimately, our goal is to make sure that people who are looking for a job can find a job.
RUSH: That’s good.
OBAMA: And that’s why it’s so important for the Senate to pass the additional steps that I’ve asked for to cut taxes and expand lending for America’s small businesses —
RUSH: He hasn’t done any of that.
OBAMA: — our most important engine for hiring and for growth.
RUSH: Right, yeah.
OBAMA: A small business jobs bill that contains these measures —
RUSH: Right.
OBAMA: — may come up for a final vote in the Senate in the next few days.
RUSH: Right, right, right, right.
OBAMA: I was heartened that Senators LeMieux and Senator George Voinovich crossed party lines to help pass this lending provision last night and I hope we can now finish the job and pass the small business jobs plan without delay and without additional partisan wrangling.
RUSH: So there you have it, a bunch of mealy-mouthed nothing. But we are congratulating ourselves, man, the economy is back. Look at everything that’s happened. All this great stuff that happened in Washington this week, how is it working for you?
