RUSH: Let’s not forget all of this. Here is Chris Dodd this morning after this debacle of a financial regulatory reform bill passes.
DODD: No one… No one will know, until this is actually in place, how it works. We believe we have done something that has been needed for a long time. It took a crisis to bring us to the point where we could actually get this job done.
RUSH: No one will know until this is actually in place how it works. Nancy Pelosi about the health care bill last March.
PELOSI MARCH 9, 2010: We have to pass the bill so that you can, uh, find out what is in it away from the fog of the controversy.
RUSH: Let’s not forget John Dingell who was on WJR, Paul P. Smith, March 23rd, 2010, Paul W. Smith said, ‘The figure that anyone comes up with per year, the lack of health insurance or health care when the bill doesn’t take effect to 2014?’
DINGELL: Paul W., we’re not ready to be doing it, but let me remind you, this has been going on for years. We are bringing it to a halt. The harsh fact of the matter is when you’re going to pass legislation that will cover 300 [sic] American people in different ways it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people.
RUSH: To control the people. That’s what this is all about, the authoritarian, totalitarian control of the people. That’s John Dingell talking about the health care bill. We’ve got Pelosi talking about the health care bill, and Chris Dodd, ‘Well, no one will know until this is actually in place how it works.’ Grab audio sound bites nine and ten. I don’t want you to forget this. Yesterday, interview on BBC, Timmy Geithner was talking to the Washington correspondent Katty Kay, and she said, ‘All indications from Germany, France, Britain, they don’t think they should follow the path that you’re following.’ And Geithner said, (paraphrasing) ‘That’s right, well, they’re going different ways, we’re going to get to a common ground but they’re going a different path than we are.’ They are running away from socialism. We’re running right at it. She said, ‘That could impact the American recovery as well.’
GEITHNER: I think the world understands now that the world — growth in the future around the world can’t depend as — on the United States as much as it did in the past. So for the world to grow together, you’re going to have to see more growth in the other major economies, too, not just in the emerging markets, which are very strong now in the United States.
RUSH: And Barack Obama yesterday, in a press conference with Dmitry Medvedev.
OBAMA: The US economy for a long period of time was the engine of world economic growth. We were sucking in imports from all across the world, financed by huge amounts of consumer debt. Because of the financial crisis, but also because that debt was fundamentally unsustainable, the United States is not going to be able to serve in that same capacity to that same extent.
RUSH: There you have it. I mean from the highest levels of the regime, the days of the US economy being the gold standard of the world, the US economy driving the world, the US economy being the engine of growth, it’s over. These people don’t even want it to be. They don’t like it that way because that made us too powerful, and we stole from the poor people all over the world. We usurped all of these great resources that the world offers. So now we’re going to be cut down to size. I have warned you about this for 18 months. This regime exists to cut this country down to size and they are in the process of doing it and bragging about it.
